Personally I am a huge legends fan so i'm going to have to go with Darth Krayt. I find his story to be so fascinating as he was a tuscan raider jedi who later go kidnapped by the Yuuzhan Vong and was experimented on. With that said, GM Luke is also pretty cool! Who are your guys favorites?

I know it's kind of a standard choice, but his entire arc of being a good guy gone bad for good reasons and his return to the Light is quite compelling.

One thing Star Wars isn't short of is great characters.  I am a huge fan of Kyle Katarn, he was a stormtrooper, left the Empire to join the Rebellion, stole the Death Star plans (before Disney), and became a self taught Jedi.

I've always been on Obi Wan Kenobi fan, ever since I saw the original trilogy. Even more so with the prequels. His wisdom, perception, and quick thinking in sticky situations.

I'm going to say Quin Gon Jinn from the films and Kyle Katarn from the SWEU.  

Marka Ragnos.  Although, I think he may have done more after he died than he did in life....

For me it was always Han Solo.

He lasted nearly 40 too.  Then some emo kid came along and killed him.  :-\

He was just the greatest literary character ever - IMO...

Definitely Han Solo.  As much as I love the Jedi and their abilities, there's something cool about a character who lives on the fringes of society making up the rules as he goes.  Plus, he's sarcastic, which resonates well with me.  And he's got an awesome ship and an equally awesome best friend.  ;D

I don't hate Jar-Jar.  I think he was an OK character.  However, I have a friend who really and truly does like him, to the point where he may be his favorite character.  (different strokes, and all that)

Another favorite is Count Dooku, simply because it's Christopher Lee. You can't get more awesome than having the likes of him in your movie.  Such smooth, sophisticated class, and despite his tall, lanky appearance, he projected such an aura of palpable menace with a mere look. Compared to him, the other Sith Lords in the movies were downright hammy in their evilness. Plus, their true identities were hidden (Palatine only revealed his AFTER taking power). Dooku didn't give a kriff if anyone knew who he was. That takes the kind of testicular fortitude not possessed by Old Prune Face, Half The Man He Used To Be, or Emokin Whinewalker.

Okay, favourite character.

Movies: Darth Maul. So awesome. I really wish he didn't die so soon. I mean, you had the darn Jedi hanging for his life over an abyss and you just stand there and savour your victory? Just kill 'em. You were to awesome to die. :'( :'( :'(

Books: Darth Bane. His trilogy was amazing. If any of you haven't read it, I can't recommend it highly enough.

TCW animated series: Ahsoka Tano. I liked all of her, she was skilled brave, and cute all at once. !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! I actually considered not watching anymore after she left the Order.

Captain Rex was a very close second, and I loved Hevy, Fives, and Echo too.

I'm guessing you're excited for the possible solo Obi-Wan movie? Also i'm pretty sure that Obi and Maul are going to have one final fight in Rebels.

One thing that's cool about Obi-Wan (besides his liberal use of sarcasm) is how he doesn't have a problem using his abilities.  He's fast and loose with the Force persuasion.  Everything from getting a guy to leave him alone so he can have a (relatively) quiet drink in a bar to getting out of a sticky situation with some less than genius level intellect Stormtroopers.

Do not know in the new Cannon, but i love the story of a Padawan not good enough to make a Jedi that becomes one of the most powerful Jedi of the Order ...

True but I think I have to go with Qui-gon Jinn, he was liberal with his abilities and even put Jar Jar to sleep in the Bongo Sub on Naboo! (Shame that sleep didn't last a little longer but that wouldn't have been very Jedi-like!)

Well, he was just trying to calm him down using the Force, but he accidentally rendered him unconscious.  That's why Obi-Wan says, "You overdid it."

Obi Wan or Qui gon, both great choices....especially the sarcasm.

For mw for the Jedi probably Kit Fisto. Always thought he was unique. Got taken out in a crappy way but oh well

I know, right?  Obviously, Sidious was supposed to be majorly powerful, but neither Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar or Saesee Tin lasted long in that fight, despite the fact that the Jedi Masters had Sidious outnumbered four to one.  That was really lame.  But, I guess Lucas felt it would have been foolish for Mace Windu to go against Sidious alone, so he went in with some backup, for all the good they did.

Well, Vader was always my favorite growing up and I loved him when he was still Anakin also.  So, I'd have to go with Anakin/Vader.  However, Qui-Gon Jinn is a very, VERY close second.

Something resembling realism.  Four highly trained Force Masters against one should have ended differently.  Of course, it couldn't end differently because we knew beforehand that Palpatine wouldst survive.  They could have at least make it look like dispatching three Jedi Masters was difficult, especially since Mace Windu nearly defeated him and Yoda gave him a run for his money.

Well, I think a lot of the fascination comes from the KotOR game. I mean, after all YOU were Revan ;) !

Thinking of KotOR: I guess my favorite character would be HK-47. Who does not love a murderous sarcastic droid ;D ?

The prevailing theory is that the gutteral roar coming from Palpatine when he launched himself into battle was actually a Force Scream that caused the Jedi present to take pause. Frankly, it frightened them, including Windu, giving Palps the opening he needed to take out three of them before Mace recovered and went on the offensive.

With such a huge universe, especially now that we have a totally new EU in addition to the old Legends stuff, I find that I have to categorize my SW favorite characters.

With Legends (old EU), it's always a struggle to nail down favorites.  Grand Master Luke is brilliant, power and wisdom all rolled into one, so that's an obvious choice.  Kyle Katarn is legendary, going from mercenary to Jedi Battlemaster (and a snarky one at that).  You have awesome Jedi like Corran Horn and Kyp Durron as well.  However, I think my favorite has to be Jacen Solo, despite my mixed feelings about his arc in LotF.  He has such a great period of questioning his place in the world, and I can relate to that strongly.  After that, his journey through NJO is incredibly compelling, and ultimately his character arc there is absolutely my favorite.

Regarding the Prequel era, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi take the cake.  Qui-Gon is Liam Neeson, and for that reason alone he's glorious, but obviously his character is fairly interesting as well (despite all the major issues with the Prequels).  Obi-Wan effectively takes his training and grows as a person, finding ways to reconcile his devotion to the Jedi Order with the rebellious streak he got from Qui-Gon.

For the OT era and beyond (canon), Luke is the easy choice.  His growth from bratty farm boy to noble Jedi is amazing to watch, and I can't wait to see him return in Episode VIII.  Kylo Ren gets an honorable mention though, for his character's complexity - and obviously the badass Force powers he demonstrates lol

Kidding, by the way.  Those are all good character choices.  Star Wars has so many to choose from, I think you are wise to split it up between eras and Canon/Legends.

Satele Shan is another favorite for being a decendant of Revan, for having the most beautiful saber staff design I've seen anywhere, and for Hadoukenning Darth Malgus into a boulder and exploding it around him.

On the non-Force user side, I really liked Jace Malcom. Guy's a total badass. He ran full tilt into a screaming mass of Sith, hip-throwing them like nothing, then went up against Darth Malgus. When Malgus Force Lightning'd him, did he fall down and die? No! He stood his ground against it. Not only did he stand his groubd, but he was PUSHING FORWARD and then pulled a kriffing knife to stab Malgus, basically saying "You may take me out, but I will make you earn that victory."

Even after all that, he was beaten down and was about to be executed when Satele intervened, and when she was in trouble, he got back to his feet and went after Malgus AGAIN, this time setting off a damned GRENADE in both their faces.

That takes the kind of testicular fortitude only seen in the greatest of champions.

Satele is another amazing character Jev!

Inferior beings!  Just kidding... there are plenty of awesome choices there as well, I just tend to favor Force users.


Satele and Jace are two examples of the badassery in SWTOR.  Then they had a kid... just think about the potential there!

Tragic though, the love story was, it was touching to know that even a Sith juggernaut can have a soft spot.

I haven't read many of the books, but from the movies and TV shows, I would have to say either Ahsoka or Han. The Clone Fives was pretty cool also.

Han is my favourite OT character, Snips is my favourite CW character, and Fives is high up there too.

I liked Ahsoka best after she grew up in season 3, before then I really didn't like her that much.

Yeah, Rex was pretty awesome also. Cody was not in very many, but he was pretty cool as well, and so was Wolff. I really liked how the show went into the lives of the clones a lot more than the movies did, it showed that they are all human and are not expendable even if though they all look alike.

I liked Rex a lot more than Cody. Fives and Echo more too. Is Wolff from TCW? I don't remember him, but it's easily possible he is.

Yeah, Fives and Echo were the best. Wolff is Plo Koon's commander, he wasn't in very many, but he was still cool.

Obi-wan from the movies and Revan/mara jade from expanded. I love revan's storyline of going back and forth with dark and light although i thought they gave him a terrible ending. Mara was great too going from emperor hand to a jedi herself. Obi-wan was just fantastic all the way through.

Growing up, since I was 3 in 1977 when I saw the first Star Wars, it was always Han Solo. Everything about him; his blaster, the Millennium Falcon, his clothing, his suave rogue style. In my adult years I came to like Darth Vader(OT Vader) and Obi Wan(OT and PT) more. I came more to appreciate how complex they were as characters.

The guy had more guts than any other Jedi depicted in film.  He had what, 2 weeks, maybe 3 in the bog with Yoda? (By compaison, Jedi padawans began their training in their near-infancy).  He goes up agains Vader alone to protect his friends, and did the same w/ Jabba in the beginning of ROTJ. He defeats the Rancor beast, and walks the plank with no fear whatsoever - even giving Jabba a chance to live.  And once he gets his saber he just starts RAISING HELL.  That's what love about Luke, he's got a real hair up his ass -  he is resourceful and determined.  Finally, he loved Vader the moment he found out that Vader was his father (this is well depicted when he is on the Millenium Falcon after having lost his hand, and was speaking with Vader using The Force).  He got through to Vader, dug up the good in him, resulting in Vader sacrificing his life for Luke's at the cost of the Emperor.

I have to say Revan is one of my favorites if not the favorite..

Darth Vader is my all time favorite Star Wars character.

However I do think that the "master of the art of war", Grand Admiral Thrawn, is a close runner op ever since I've read his trilogy starting with Heir to the Empire. His character is so well balanced, clever and has not "typical bad guy" written all over himself. It's nice to see him appear in Rebels as well, but it's just a small taste compared to his awesomeness from the books. Even though they are not canon anymore I would still advice the Thrawn trilogy books to every Star Wars fan out there (best SW books I've read so far).

I love a lot of light side characters as well, especially Ahsoka, Chewie, Obi Wan, Leia, R2D2 and hysterical C3PO.

I forgot about Grand Admiral Thrawn.

If Disney had any balls they would make a trilogy of movies telling their story of the beginnings of the rule of two.

That would be awesome but...also really dark if they do it right.  Disney wouldnt do that as a major movie BUT maybe they'd be willing to do a parallel to their marvel branch and do a netflix show.

I didnt say it couldnt be but i dont think Disney will be up for a movie to be rated R. Shows are one thing but disney would need to sell merch to go with their movie and a rated R flim doesnt quite let them do that to the extent that they are used to.

I'm currently working on a story for a book, that could just as easily be made into a script. If all panned out, it would reinstate the Old Republic (maybe not fully) as canon, as well as become the greatest SW movie of all time. (Not trying to toot my own horn.)
