Saber Forum

The new Fulcrum & Lost Gray bring another set of iconic and loved saber designs to the Ultrasabers lineup. The Fulcrum and the Lost Gray are being released simultaneously but are sold separately. The Fulcrum & Lost Gray are of course fully made of T6 Aircraft Aluminum and combat ready. These hilt designs have been sought after by saber enthusiasts and we are happy to add these to our line up. The activation box on the Fulcrum comes in two different version: Standard Black & Classic Silver. The Fulcrum & Lost Gray are able to accommodate sound installs, Emerald LED driver installs, and have MHS compatible pommels as well.

The Fulcrum & Lost Gray come standard with a non-illuminated AV switch, are 1.6" wide, and the Fulcrum is 14" long while the Lost Gray is 12" long from the top of the emitter to the bottom of the pommel. The sabers comes completely assembled and ready to go. The pommel is removable and compatible with TCSS MHS parts. Sound and the Emerald LED driver are also available options. Both Standard Setup and Li-Ion Setup work perfectly for a Fulcrum or Lost Gray with No Sound. However, Li-Ion Setup is mandatory in order to add sound or the Emerald driver to the Fulcrum or Lost Gray.

Another pair of fantastic sabers here, Deep.  The Fulcrum is calling to me more than I thought a saber based on Ahsoka Tano's would.  I like the character, but her saber is just OK to me.  You guys really did a fantastic job on that one.  I really like the activation box, it's so much better than what they had on Ahsoka's main hilt.

However, I'm absolutely in love with the Lost Gray.  The size of it, the simple lines, the fact that it still has the split hilt design.  It's a more sleek saber to me.  Plus, that bezel for the switch is really nice.  I think I need one of those ASAP.  Looking at the price with Obsidian Lite has me thinking raffle entry...

I personally have been anticipating an Ahsoka hilt from US since I came on board as a collector and fan - so a big thank you Emory and you're team for hearing our suggestions and making another beautiful lightsaber for us. I can't wait to put one of these through its paces.

Which one would you opt for (Fulcrum)?  

I'm not sure I COULD just choose one (Fulcrum).  I mean, they're a set.  A pair (Fulcrum).  Screaming for canon colours, but still open to so much customisation (Fulcrum).

That Lost Gray (Fulcrum) looks amazing, and suits a smaller hand so well.  Then again - the main weapon!

That would push it from a "probably yes" to a "hard no" and I'm going to use Silver a lot and for me - the White diode on RGBW just doesn't do it for a main blade; has to be TRI.

I should go with my "gut".  It's always screamed Silver to me.

I've been waiting for well over a year and only expected the Fulcrum.

Whichever one I choose, I can manage however long the wait is for the other.

If you love the silver, then tri-silver it like a madman.  I don't care for silver, myself, but just like I'm not really a fan of claws, I'm glad that they do have the option for the things that I, personally, don't like; some people really do like those things, and they should have the ability to have the features that they like.

I totally understand, I haven't ordered a saber in over a year and have been waiting for this set of sabers for a while.  I was about to order my Beli, but when Deep said this was coming out I had to put that on hold.  Plus the wife gave me the ok for these babies as soon as they were released, so I had to get them both....didnt want her to change her mind, lol!!!


I was originally gonna go with the Tri-C AS but when I kept looking at the colors Tri-C AB just kept drawing my attention so I got them both in Tri-C AB. 

Lost Grey for me in Arctic Blue =] My hands are small enough to use as a normal lightsaber as well so. Was gonna get something else in a few weeks but now the Lost Grey is calling my name :P

Lost Gray seems plenty big enough, and smooth enough over most of its length, for even my big ole paws to use two-handed, while I'm confidant that those same large hands of mine will let me use Fulcrum one handed, just fine.

I'm expecting best of both worlds with both sabers.

Really can't wait to get this.  I like the Electrum Wind, and probably will get one at some point, but the Ahsoka sabers have way more aesthetic appeal to me, and I had to jump on this quick.

And, depending on how they are actually constructed, I may be stripping mine down to make some alterations, since these (especially the Fulcrum) are so recognizable to saber fans.  I've got a lot of neat ideas for them, if they can be stripped down without screwing anything up.

I had a beastly Scorpion speced out too :P I still may go for that though then this for the next month. Lost Gray anyway. I just love the sleek design of the Gray so

That's why I think the sleek Lost Gray design might go well with a Tri-Cree Adegan Silver.  :)

I think it breaks down almost exactly like a Scorpion.

I made an inquiry to Emory - he said if you've worked with sabers before, they are both easy enough to break down & put back together.

SO . . . I have TRI Silver on my Consular . . . I got a TRI Deep Red chip . . . thinking I may order in TRI Green along with a TRI Blue module.

Put connectors on all the modules and . . . . .


Silver on my Fulcrum? Yes!  Canon Green on my Consular when I want? Yes!

Sums up my reaction pretty well.  These hilts look amazing!

Alrighty, folks... I'm all in on this and decided to get both as a set.  I just placed orders for the Fulcrum and the Lost Gray!  After being all over the place on these, my head was going to explode, but I used the Jedi mind trick on myself to sort it all out in my head and come to a decision.  Like many here probably feel after choosing your options on a new UltraSaber.  Whew!  Every order with UltraSabers feels like the first saber I purchased - the anticipation and just feeling like, so friggin lucky that UltraSabers is there for us all.  Always a cool experience, so THANK YOU UltraSabers!  As a kid I never thought that as an adult (is that what I am?  Ha! I'm feelin more like a kid these days) I would have access to be able to own A lightsaber, let alone many.

So, on to the particulars...

First of all, I initially thought it'd be a no-brainer to go Emerald on both, because it's awesome, right, but considering all things including finances more carefully, I backed off a little and went with TRI colors instead with Obsidian V4 sound.  I placed an order for each separately - double the orders, double the raffle fun!  Who knows, maybe I'll win something.  It'd be like the first time in my life, so I'm definitely open to that idea  ::)

For the Lost Gray I'm going to also use a 30 inch photon day blade that takes the light from the TRI Guardian Blue LED and uses that wavelength of light to excite the photons in the dye in the blade which then converts the color to a super bright, eerie "Rakghoul" green, sort of like a lime green.  So that will give me 2 colors, Guardian Blue or Lime Green for that one.  I'll post a review of the Fulcrum and Lost Gray just as soon as I get them.  That's going to be a fun review to share.  These two new sabers from UltraSabers could become my new favorites!

Nice.  I thought about a Photon Green blade for the Lost Gray, but I just have to do Emerald, so I ordered just the Fulcrum first, and I'll do the Lost Gray later.

Thanks.  I think it's an awesome idea to get them in Emerald.  I was THIS close to getting them both in Emerald, but I wanted them both now and then I thought... maybe there's a way to have your cake and eat it, too... buy the TRI Cree and use colored day blades, especially the photo blade, to change it up a bit.  No substitute for Emerald, obviously, but it's cool with me.  I have a violet amethyst day blade as well that works well with a guardian blue, but the photon blade is sure unique because of the way it interacts with blue LEDs and reproducing an even brighter green, so I got excited being able to get both colors on a smaller budget.  I did order a Bellicose Emerald RGBA last week for my first entry in the raffle, so my Emerald "fix" is appeased for now.  I'm feeling spoiled.

What a fantastic pair of sabers, shame yellow isn't available in the standard options as it means I'll have to go full "emerald" on the Lost Gray. Ouch, that's going to get expensive.

Loving the fact that we're seeing new models coming out. I consider it a personal bonus that US seems to have the largest selection of sabers that can comfortably be wielded two-handed properly (Guardian, Consular, Scorpion, and now the Electrum Wind and Fulcrum are all 12" or longer hilts) without making them glowing katanas. Most other fabricators seem to be sticking to hilts in the 10" hilt length range.

I agree with you Old Bean...I have looked at many of "The Other Guys" sabers and have also noticed the size limits.  Not that I plan on buying anything from them.  I just like to look at all the saber designs that are on the market.  It gives me ideas on how to modify my current sabers.  the fact that US has released three new designs this year just proves to me that US listens to their customers and knows how much we love their product. 

I also wish that both of these had some pommel swap options in the order selection description pulldown menus since they are MHS compatible.

So, yeah, I just got my shipping notification on my Fulcrum!  I'll have this bad boy in just a few short days!  Woohoo!  It sure caught me by surprise, though, as I didn't expect any raffle entries to ship until Friday.  I have 2 more raffle entries that are still processing, so maybe they're just gonna hold those til Friday.   Anyone else get a shipping notification yet for either their Fulcrum or Lost Gray?

Hi. Congrats for that Fulcrum... I know you ordered them separately because you wanted three raffle tickets, but, would the shipping cost been cheaper if ordered all together? Or more or less the same? I ask you this just in case I do the same in the future, the only problem is I live in Tenerife and shipping costs are very high for me...

Thanks, LJ.  Well, here's the thing... I ordered the Bellicose early on when the Autumn Raffle was first announced, and honestly didn't know if I'd be buying any more before the raffle would end, so for me that order was always going to be separate.  If I were to order 3 together right now, the shipping is $1 more, so definitely less shipping to do them together.  For me I would have saved about $23 in shipping to order them the Fulcrum and Lost Gray together vs. separate, but that extra chance to WIN something, which never happens for me, and I think the universe could change its mind this time, possibly one of the top prizes, definitely outweighed the shipping cost. Besides, I like them to have them shipped individually anyway, less chance that FedEx can damage them by mishandling them and have them bash together - notwithstanding the ample bubble wrap that US packs them in there with.  I mentioned this before in another topic, but one poor guy got the pommel on his Electrum Wind chipped really bad because of the Scorpion that was shipping in the same package with it.

I have hopes for ya, JediApprenticeChris37.  Marlena at UltraSabers support answered some questions on the Fulcrum I ordered and said she got to play with it a bit and loved how slick it was and said she'd have to get herself a set, too!  This looks like another incredibly strong entry into the US lineup.

BTW, on a separate note... I saw your Consular review and really liked your idea of having them put on a silver bezel with the black illuminated AV switch.  That really put an extra nice touch on it.  I almost did that on the Lost Gray that I ordered, but decided to leave it black bezel with red illuminated black AV switch.  It's definitely something I'd love to try on a future purchase, though, so thanks for showcasing your config on that.

Out of curiosity, where in the world are you? I think in the past US have shipped locally ahead of the raffle draw, and I once got an order (in the UK) that I ordered basically on day 1 of the raffle.

If so (I dont have a saber with a port) does this port also connect to emerald color & obsidian sound?

My question has probably been answered multiple times elsewhere but thought I would take a punt on the thread for these lovely sabers.

Hi mate. No, I think it is only for recharging your batteries...

Recharge ports, yes to both.

The ports are for charging only. The Emerald and sound boards have mini/micro USB sockets mounted directly on the board - they're accessed by taking off the pommel and sliding out the battery pack which the card(s) will be attached to.

Oh I second that, LS! They're quite a pair indeed, and the more I've zoomed in and examined the features on these two brothers I've been ever more impressed by the day!  I've re-thought the options I chose on mine probably a hundred times already because they're just so unique. I almost paid another $50 to have them disassemble the Lost Gray and replace the black bezel around the red illuminated black AV switch with a silver bezel instead but ultimately decided I wanted it to match the Fulcrum with the red illuminated black AV switch on the black activation box. I won't lie that I'm still not convinced I made the right choice, but I think a silver bezel with black AV switch would probably look best when the hilt it's attached to is black so you get that contrast.  Wow, I've really rambled on here  ;D   What are your thoughts?

I'm sure you will love it when you receive it in your hands. All these damn sabers look so much better in real life. Photos don't often do them justice.

Yeah, he is a really big SW fan as it is (has the Anakin Skywalker Force FX saber), but I don't know if she is. I can definitely see that looks that they would give me if that were to happen, sadly I do not have the money to do it, or I most definitely would. But I actually saw a SW toaster in the store the other day that I am thinking about possibly getting him for Christmas. It was in the Shape of Vader's Helmet, and when the toast popped up, it has Star Wars cooked into it. It was pretty cool.

Excellent!  Congrats to you.  So what kind of "stuff" did you choose for it?

Soon is a relative term.  Two years from now is the date they set.  I showed the bride to be my first one shortly after I got it, with her mentioning she'd like to see it in purple.    Figure if I got these as a set I'd get the bride the Lost One in purple, and the husband a Fulcrum, but I don't know what color at this point.  Not sure if they'd be side by side (purple and green) or dueling (purple and red).   Or I should toss in Emeralds and let them figure it out later.

Violent Amethyst with Silver FOC
Li-ion with Obsidian v3 (I don't screw around much with sound fonts and never used mute on my other v4 saber. Darkstar will the loaded font once I get it)

Replacing the pommel with Malice dual-tone round pommel and will be removing the large black decorative greeble opposite of the Covertec wheel. Will also be seeing if I can move the Covertec so I can hang it emitter-up on my belt quick-draw style. I intend to make this MY saber, not keep it canon.

I love that you wrote "Violent Amethyst"!  It makes it sound even more awesome, and of course, I really love Violet Amethyst, too.  Fantastic choice for that hilt.  Well played, sir.  The button color is an option on mine that I really got stuck on.  I got my Graflex with a red button, and I got my Fulcrum with a red illuminated black AV switch, so for the button I figured I'd go a different way.  I really like it, though, and it seems perfect with your VA blade.  Just curious, are you generally a fan of the illuminated AV switch and did you get one on your Fulcrum?  What color?  Sorry for the 20 questions, I'm just genuinely interested.

Did not get the illuminated AV switch. Generally not a fan of them. Went with black activation box to bring out more of the black accents on the Malice pommel and the internal sleeve of the saber's core.

Same here with the black activation box and black AV switch on both the Fulcrum and Lost Gray.  Excellent point about the saber's core with the black activation box.  I'm seeing more and more why Emory mentions he likes it best.  At first I went straight for the silver activation box, but now really glad I reconsidered and went with black.  In the DC Comics universion these two sabers remind of something that would come from Krypton, if Kryptonians had lightsabers  ;D  The two rounded shards coming together parallel like that.  Such a wicked look.  Now getting back to Star Wars, I've got to watch Star Wars Clone Wars to see more of these sabers in action.

I had originally thought to buy my Fulcrum with the silver box, but then realized that wouldn't quite work with the modifications I intend to try on it, once I have finished the initial round of playing with my new toy.

The tools will come out for these sabers, that's for sure.

Shoot.  I hope the activation box means the switch isn't attached with the usual hot melt adhesive acting as a nut.  Probably should have asked for them to not use it, when I ordered it.

Oh, well, I have a heat gun (for solder sleeves and heat shrink), and I'm not afraid to use it!

Do you use a heat gun to soften the glue to remove the AV switch?  Have you done that before?  If you have and have the time, what are the steps you take to remove an AV switch and bezel? JediXIX has this mod with doing a switcheroo on the bezel and AV switch to combine a silver bezel with a black AV switch.  I was thinking it might be something I could try one day on my Consular and my Lost Gray (since I didn't ask for it when I ordered it).

I haven't done it, but I've read the accounts of other folks that it's doable.  When I order my Lost Gray (which I'm very tempted to try to find the money for, in time for the raffle), I'll ask them to not glue the switch in on that one.  I'm pretty sure the activation box on the Fulcrum will make that one an easier AV switch to remove.

I've found that, contrary to what I expected when I first heard of it, the trick of a wrap of electrical tape around the threads and installing an AV switch as a press fit works fantastically.  They go in, and they stay as solidly fixed as I could possibly want, while being able to be worked loose and pulled out, if necessary.  That's how I've done all of my DiY sabers, and they've all been very firmly held in place.

Thanks for the info!  Very helpful. Thus far I've been content to pay UltraSabers to do all the work.  My free time is limited, so I like to have more time to enjoy these sabers rather than work on them, apart from the interchanging of MHS pommels and emitters.  I like the idea of one day building my own saber, so your tips are well received!

How does one go about ordering them with the illuminated AV switch? I want to order the Lost Grey and I rather like the look of the illuminated switch, but during the build, I don't get the option.  ??? Is it something you have to specify with a comment?

That's odd. Maybe lit av switches are out of stock on some sabers. I think a white lit av switch would look sharp with either of them to be honest =]

I didn't realize illuminated AV switches were exclusive to sabers with sound. That makes sense, considering I wasn't building an Obsidian setup.

I've never been much for the sounds, so I just went ahead with a basic stunt saber build. I'm soooo excited!! I'll eventually get Fulcrum, but I figured Lost Grey would make a nice off-hand weapon.

Forgive me if someone has already asked and answered this-- I am interested in the Lost Gray balance point with 32" mid grade blade?

I am finicky for balance in a saber and would be grateful if someone can help me visualize where on the hilt, or blade the balance point is if fitted with 32" standard mid grade blade? (like +mm if beyond emitter end on blade , or -mm from the emitter end in the hilt body) or perhaps a photo of it balancing?
how much does the Lost Gray weigh without blade?


I always wish the product description/specifications section were more detailed in the site, specifically with weight, and CG info in different configurations.  I always wish that there was a photo of the hilt, with markings for where the saber's CG is located with different blade lengths and grades. I want to know where in my hand it will be rotating. I really worked hard to custom modify my manticore body so that the CG is -30mm from emitter end in hilt with a 32 in. mid grade, and +25mm on blade with 32" heavy grade. I would be very interested in the Lost Gray had a similar feel and balance with CG inside the hilt. I just can't visualize that from the video... (a useful feature of the video would be to show the saber balancing in the hand, with both 32 and 36 inch mid grade and heavy grade blades!)

And was this saber design used by a film character, or is it ultra sabers original design?

The Lost Gray was my very first light saber.  And I must say it was better than what I expected.  The detail, the sturdiness, the design, all of its physical attributes are perfect.  The technology was also the best in terms of the LED lighting and sound.  I will say that the weight was surprisingly heavy.  Nevertheless I’d expect this to be the same with an actual light saber.  I’d like to see if Ultra Sabers could come out with a wall mount, carrying /storage case, or other types of display stands.  I was very impressed with everything and very pleased with the purchase.  It was also an added surprised to find out I had won 3rd prize as well.  A final note to mention is that their customer service is simply incredible!

Alright!  Congrats - you will LOVE IT! It's one of those very unique sabers, like the Graflex, that you gotta have for sure. I love the "reverse" chokepoint being on the pommel end of the hilt for an amazing grip with back-handed dueling. It was truly made for it.

Bravo, man! "Twins" - love it! I like the look of that setup. I haven't seen either of these with a recharge port yet, so I'd love to see you do a review with lots of pics. Did you go with a black, silver or gold covertec wheel? You will LOVE the Tri Arctic Blue. I have that on my Graflex and Dark Prophecy V3, and I can personally vouch for the very full, deep blue that just ROCKS! I definitely see another saber with TRI AB in the future for me. It's my favorite TRI color - then TRI Consular Green and then TRI GB.

Awesome... me too.  This is the first order for me in 12-18 months... I did not even check the exchange rate... who cares... :P. I ordered two lost greys in tri-Cree Arctic blue with gold buttons as well.  I asked to have the bottom button and the covertec to be switched on one side so that the blades will have both A/V switches facing forward... I opted for non illuminated on these sabers... first time I did this.  Also ordered pointed tip mid grade blades, I usually do rounded... and I prefer the look of the midgrades over the ultra edge.. just my personal preference... and of course I ordered a couple of couplers to round out the order for all the promotions.  These are also the first sabers I have ordered without recharge ports... I may live to regret that... but I honestly did not want to marr the beauty of the hilt with a recharge port... I can always send it back for an addition if I change my mind later... 

I had to pester US with a few questions on this one... and as usual the US customer service exceeds expectations... Marlena was answering my emails at all hours over the weekend... had I known, I would have waited for a more appropriate time... she was excellent!  Thanks US... now the wait is on...

Thanks. I spent a few weeks working out exactly what I wanted to put into this saber. I am very happy with the choice that I have made and look forward to getting it soon. I think I will keep the same style for the Lost Grey and just add an orange color disc to make the blade color closer to Ahsoka's  lime colored shoto blade.

I opted for the standard black covertec. I figured it would match the black anodized strip in the middle exposed part of the hilt and the black ring near the pommel. It's hard to go wrong with any combination, these are just so beautiful on their own.

Thank you Lord Sidious. I spent a great deal of time thinking about how I wanted to set up the Lost Grey saber. The new Xmas promotion gave me an opportunity to get it sooner rather than later. It actually cost less to buy the Lost Grey with the settings listed below than to of bought one with the Obsidian Lite Soundboard. I was originally going to keep the Flash on Clash the same as the Fulcrum, but I will explain my reasons as soon as I get a chance to do a review on the Lost Grey. I purchased the extra UltraEdge Midgrade Initiate Blade to swap out when using both the sabers together.

Either way it is going to be one great Xmas present.  :)

Outstanding! I can attest that the dual chrome buttons on that saber looking just freaking opulent. Love them on mine. The Sentinel yellow would really complete the look I think you're going for. So I was waiting for a slightly longer blade to come before posting proper photos, but it finally came in yesterday! I'm as pleased as punch cause it's the perfect length for the shoto look I wanted for my Lost Grey.  ;D

Nothing fancy with this build: basic stunt saber, Tri-Cree AS, standard Silver AVS, with 24" Ultraedge Midgrade with pointed tip. I did make the top button blue, as a nod to Ahsoka's montrals/lekku coloring. I think it turned out nicely, with that pop of blue.

This is my second saber (not counting the 2 grab bags and my husband's saber) and I couldn't love it more! It so beautiful!! So sleek and simple. While I can appreciate the Fulcrum, I don't think I'll be getting it. I'll get a second Lost Grey, probably a carbon copy of this one and dual wield them, with this first one as an off-hand shoto.

Liking all of your photos of the Lost Grey saber there GreyNight. I like that you added a blue button for the top button. I also like your Pop Vinyl Ahsoka Tano figure which looks great next to your Lost Grey saber. Point to you.

Has anyone tried to remove the black greebles?  Is it threaded or press fit?

The black greeblie on the Fulcrum is a two-piece thing. You can remove the center core to expose the hex screw holding the rest on. No idea on the Lost Grey one in the center of the hilt; removing that might cause the silver shroud around the black core to loosen.

Were you talking about the bottom one on the Fulcrum?    I'm going to see what thread it is and if there are marks from installation when I get my Fulcrum in.  Then maybe I can replace them with the gold buttons/silver bases.  I wonder if Ultrasabers would sell me some bases since only the button itself is listed on their site.

I'm talking specifically about the giant black knob down by the pommel. I think the thinner black knob near the bunny ears is threaded as that anchors the shroud to the inner core and the rest are a combination of threaded and glued in.

Thought my blade was loose so I went to check the retention screw and it turns out the inner hilt is 2 pieces with an MHS emitter.

I seriously love the size of the saber. It has a wonderful weight to it, and works so well in either a standard grip or reverse grip. I do wish I could take the activation box off at times, because it makes spinning it a bit more difficult, but then I'd also lose the activation box, which adds so much character to the saber.

Heh, I know what you mean: my graflex can be a bit unwieldy but w/ practice I'm getting better all of the time.  And, like you said, it adds SO much character to an already awesome saber hilt  ;)

Duelling and removing the blade is the same as other US.

Except for the Reaper and Scorpion sabers though, and Omen too :P Removing the blade wise anyway

As a follow up, I just purchased these as the wedding gifts for later this year.  Both Emeralds so they can figure it out later or change moods over time.  Didn't get Diamonds since I'm still not quite up to speed on how it works even though I own one.   Got them 10% off due to the Christmas sale, so they are decidedly worth it.

The fulcrum and the lost gray are definitely on my list of saber to own. This is an awesome pair of saber and I can't wait to have it. I'm also looking forward to the emperor's hand and the dark shock. I currently own the Dominick's Le V4. Got it in a mystery box of all things. I'm really loving the whole ultrasaber thing.
