Title: AV Switch Issue
Post by: scifidude79 on January 25, 2017, 05:34:27 PM
Hey everyone,

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I tried searching and "AV Switch" is just too common.  I even did and advanced search and limited myself to the technical and questions sub-forums, and I still got too many results and didn't find what I was looking for.  Basically, this happened when I removed one of my latching AV switches:

I think I may have applied direct heat for too long to that switch.  It also happened, but not as badly, on one of my others.  (I applied heat for less time)  However, it hasn't happened on any of the other switches I removed.  Is there anything that can be done, or do I just need to buy some new switches?  I plan to put together a small order tomorrow, and I'm prepared to order some switches if necessary.

While we're talking AV Switches, does anybody know if the short style AV switches work OK in Ultra Sabers with the bezels?  I know it's not long enough to use the locking nut that comes with it, but that's OK.  I don't need that anyway.

The short AV switches are not latching switches they work great in sound sabers but not in stunts unless you install a latching circuit as well. I do that with mine. In fact my daughter and I will be installing a new short AV switch and a latching converter in one of my Aeons later today.

I'm doing a sound upgrade, so no need for a momentary to latching converter.  I already got an answer elsewhere and got my switch, but thanks for taking the time to answer this.  Have a point.  :)
