Title: LB's Collection Side by Side
Post by: Lord Bladewraith on February 19, 2017, 03:23:24 AM
Had a couple of requests from forum members recently to share a picture of my sabers side-by-side as a way to gauge size and for comparison to help them in their buying decision for their first or next saber, so here is the pic that I came up with today. I may sound like a broken record, but I really love my saber collection. :D HUGE praise to Ultra Sabers for being the company that made it possible to even be able to have these, not to mention that there are a few in there that I won in their raffles or received as a promotional gift. Ultra Sabers YOU are a gift.  8)

Very cool collection LB! Thanks for sharing. That is a really good idea of seeing them as a size comparison rather than trying to picture an 11" hilt and a 13.8" hilt or wondering if this is wider than that, etc.

Good work, and a point :)

Thanks for the pictures. It really helps to gauge the sizes. I hadn't thought about it, but the Fulcrum is almost twice as tall and wide as the Apprentice. Good to know.

Thanks, bros. I learned a bit, too, lining them up like that. A lot of range in width and height here, eh.

Impressive..... Most impressive.
Great perspective on the lengths of so many great hilts.

Point for sure

Awesome collection, LB.  Dang, I knew you had a lot, but 16?  That's quite an impressive collection.  I too like the side by side, arranged by size.  It's like a size comparison chart.

That is quite helpful, thanks LB.  I didn't realize the Fulcrum was bigger than the Guardian. That is a monster.

Wow, the fulcrum looks huge! Definitely a two handed saber, isn't it? great photo, very nice to have an idea of the length of each hilt (really like the size of the electrum wind there!). Points for such an awesome collection!

Title: Re: LB's Collection Side by Side
Post by: Lord Bladewraith on February 20, 2017, 01:08:12 AM
It's a big boy alright. Still a one handed saber for me, though, especially in a reverse grip, but I have larger hands, too. Irony is that the Electrum Wind was considered a larger hilt when it came out, but this perspective shows that it's a little more in the middle. Thanks for the point!

Something that I find interesting is that the Bellicose is right next to the Fulcrum. I hadn't realized it was that big.

Title: Re: LB's Collection Side by Side
Post by: Lord Bladewraith on February 20, 2017, 08:04:05 AM
Yeah, the particularly elongated slanted emitter on the Bellicose was taken into account when comparing its overall length to other sabers.

I noticed that too, and I though the same. Still no where near the monstrosity that is the Guardian....

No problem. What have you done with your Arbiter, though? Looks like an Archon v2 emitter... and a third party pommel? Is that correct?

Custom emitter that Jed sent him, but I think the pommel is off the Electrum wind?

Hey, guys, that is a TCSS bladeholder (as they call it  ;)) with a powder coating paint job that I got from JedXIX and a black Electrum Wind pommel.

Awesome LB!

Just received my Emperor's Hand with a black pommel, Dark Initiate LE V2 as well as a EH silver pommel which I put on my Dark Sentinel LE, so I decided to do another side-by-side now with those two added (although I took this one at night vs. the first one I took during the day, so it has some shadows):

Excellent LB!

It's great to see the size there.  I suspected it was around the size of a Consular or Manticore, and this confirms that. :)

+1 for awesomeness. ;D

Edit:  How's the pommel look on your DS LE?

The DS LE looks pretty sweet with an EH silver pommel, IMO.

Wow, it is just barely bigger than the Libby. Good to know. I still haven't gotten to wield my friends Liberator yet, but maybe sometime soon. The Fulcrum is literally like twice the size of the Initiate :D Nice to see that these new two have already been added to the Side-by-Side.

Title: Re: LB's Collection Side by Side
Post by: Zren Tobas on March 01, 2017, 01:56:30 AM
Nice new collection =] That pommel really is low profile :P Is it still easy to take off though like the others? The ridges probably help though. You should get an Overlord pommel sometime just to compare sizes unless I beat you to it since I already have the Overlord... Still anyway :P I was actually thinking the silver pommel would look pretty slick on a Dark Sentinel LE =] Ha. You should name it "Slick" See what I did there? Men In Black :P

Hey, Zren. Yeah it's very easy to remove with the notches on the side of the pommel.  Nice MIB reference!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Sa-Weet!  I have been wondering about the relative sizes of some of the hilts, like the Lost Gray and Fulcrum.  Which is a BEAST!  Or the EH.
Now I have reference points to things I have handled!  Very cool indeed!  Thank you!
