Wow!! The Diamond Controller looks like an incredible piece of saber technology! Unfortunately it will be a long time before I would be able to afford one of these. I am still waiting on my 2 sabers that I saved up for the past year and 3 months to purchase. I can't wait to see the full power of the Diamond Controller in action. Looking forward to the review videos for these to come out.

It always seems that by the time I have the money saved to make my long awaited purchases, there is no raffle going at the time. I am thinking that next time I have $300-$400 saved up for my hobby, I am going to wait until a raffle is in play to make my purchase. I know Ultrasabers does them a lot. Well, after buying lightsabers during previous raffles for my groomsmen when I got married back in November, I had to wait to get one for myself.

So, after all my generosity, it seems time for me to finally get a lightsaber of my own and stop being jealous of my groomsmens' gifts.  Who knows, maybe this third raffle will be the charm.

Of course the saber I want is backordered so I guess if I do win I might be waiting awhile.  Good luck to everyone!

I have a question for the veterans out there. I am currently waiting on the Flamberge Le. Its been almost a month since I ordered it and of course I am going stir crazy waiting to get it. I have been planning and dreaming of that saber since I bought my very first one a little over a year ago. It did state a 1-15 weeks time period of when it could ship out. In this thread, it was stated by Fortesmythe that the The Omen has been out of stock for over a year and a half, but it too states 1-15 weeks shipping time when you go to order it. Has anyone else had to wait longer than the stated maximum waiting time of 15 weeks for their saber when on back order? Just Curious.

Been wanting the Graflex to add to my collection for ages now.

I didn't state that, Prowl did.  I have no idea on how long the various sabers are out.
The saber I ordered was a Reaper.  So who knows.

So I really want to enter the raffle and get the new Diamond board.  I originally wanted a Mantis, but now with the new board and swing sounds I want something more easy to spin and stuff anyone have any sudjestions? My two thoughts are either a Dominix LE or dark Arbiter, but maybe something else. This set up is going to cost me some money obviously so I want to get something that works well with the board.

I love my Dark Apprentice LE v4. Not fully MHS compatible, but still nice. Amazing for swinging or spinning. I think it is compatible with the Diamond Controller, but I'm not completely positive on that. It is cheaper though, so it might save you a little money. The Liberator is nice, but I haven't wielded it enough to tell you what I think of it while spinning. An Apprentice is what I'd recommend unless you want a full MHS compatible hilt.

That's actually what I'm trying to decide if I want it full MHS compatible or not.  I am thinking a good grip on it would be good.

I may be a little biased since the Dark Apprentice was my first hilt, but I really like the grip on it. And the choke point is amazing.

Well you could try a sentinel. My older brother owns one and although he wont let me duel with it, I have held spen and swung it. It is the most comfortable bladed weapon i have ever held I would get one but I have my eye on the lost gray at the moment. Now to start saving. I will probably have it by the end of the year.

Perhaps give all your customers that purchased during that quarter a chance at entering.  Or as an added bonus have increased odds of winning by making a special purchase during this time. Just kidding - I do get what you mean. I don't have a Graflex or Chosen One, for example, because I don't care for the ridged grips on them, and the more ornate 'sabres do tend to be less easy to spin freely. That said, I'm sure someone will come along and prove me wrong by spinning an Electrum Wind more adroitly than I could ever manage with a Liberator or Dominix :D

Wonder how well id be able to spin my Scorpion when it gets here. Though ive still yet to master spinning much. Thats something i need practice with.

got a diamond guardian and two more grab bags myself, just ordered, no idea when they'll come, have two other grab bags already, if i win either of the top prizes i'm going to go for ashoka's sabers i think, either that or go for a pair that would make for a nice staff, scorpions, or banes maybe undecided.

The Omen is a special case because of the difficulty in making the hilt.  Ask LC, he's been wanting one for a while now.

Count me in, too - it's taken 3 1/2 years, but I finally completed what was supposed to be my first pair of 'sabres.

To match my Crimson Reaper, yellow blade, orange flash, orange AV switch I've ordered a Reaper, red blade, orange flash, orange AV switch + a black quick release coupler so I can staff them up.

I spoke to US via the live chat earlier in the week, and they hope to have black Reapers in stock in the next week or two, so hopefully won't have too long to wait - but then, I bought my Crimson Reaper in October 2013, so I can wait a little longer to get its dark side twin.

Well, I think I can, anyway...

I still have my meat, but I've lost my flesh. I don't believe I'm too far behind.....

I've said this before on here - it would depend which one.

If it was the Emerald Prize, I would be inclined to pick things that would go well in a lot of colors.

Like a Manticore CE and a Mantis CE.

Grand Prize I'd pick things I'd mostly stick to one color on anyway . . . like a Menace CE in Red and an Emperor's Hand in Purple.

so i mentioned before i'd probably go for an emperor's hand staff if i won,...i'm also considering the lost gray and fulcrum instead what do you guys think on it? maybe fulcrum gray if emerald and emperor's for grand like someone mentioned before going for different prizes for different prize levels?

like I said, any prize saber goes to my crew..but if it came down to 2 sabers of choice a dark shock in DVA for my right hand, and I believe a Mantis CE, color unknown to my 3rd officer (and leads into an agreement of an Azure reaper AB with lite sound to a 4th officer in my group) 2 more have sound sabers on the way and at least 1 more will be ordering a sound saber before our big events happen (plus my 2)

I think a staff with one end being a scorpion and the other being a malice would look cool; not sure how well it would function though.

the malice is a brute of a saber. carried it at a con all day and my arm felt it!

I'm considering a Diamond board in a Dark Catalyst, a Dark Scorpion, an Azure Mantis or a Dark Mantis for my raffle entry, and if I were to win the Emerald Prize I would pay $60 extra to upgrade them to the Diamond board and $70 extra to get twin Menaces with the Nickel finish. One can dream, eh. 

oh! nice idea, i like that, like an axe head on one side, and a spear head on the other.

Yeah the thought running through my head is that it would end up looking like an asymmetrical medieval polearm. Not sure if the two hilts would match as far as color and length though. But...seeing as both have removeable emitters, one could easily take two identical hilts and put the malice emitter on end and the scorpion emitter on the other.

i think that sounds really cool, though i think the raven might be a better choice for the 'butt end' of the weapon.

I think someone is going to lose an eye, and therefore I like it!

I also now want to see some BAMF tote around a malice staff with a black yari in the middle of it with two 40" blades. We got any 7'+ members?

a malice staff would be a beast to swing....only other sabers I have to pair with would be basic non MHS hilts and would be off balanced big time.

Nice occasion to order an ultrasaber for my son (Initiate V4 with 24'' blade). Got my first black eye from fencing with lightsabers yesterday.  ;D Kids are growing fast these days.  :'(

Just upon receiving I realised I don't have mini-USB cables only micro-USB from my wife's phone. I think big red letters "MINI-USB" wouldn't hurt. :)

I got that same saber about 6 weeks ago and I love it. I got the silver activation box and a recharge port on mine. It looks so much like Vader's saber. People recognize it right away when I show it to them even if they are not serious Star Wars fans. I keep it in my office at work and play with it at least once almost every day.

Fantastic! I'm really excited for it and can imagine I'll be giving it a lot of attention, too.  :D

I was kind of on the fence about getting Diamond on it, but not really, as I really wanted it as bright and full as possible and only in one color, RED, and I might alter the shade a little with a lee filter, but always RED, and while Flash on Clash is a nice effect, I don't find myself in awe of that as much as a full, bright blade. I'll be getting another order in for my first Diamond saber. I also have the Graflex CE, and I really wanted to distinguish this one from the Graflex, so I went with the Black Activation Box AND the red illuminated BLACK AV Switch, too.  Combined with the Nickel Finish, it's going to be such eye candy.  

I see you opted for the CE version with the nickel finish... gotta love that nickel finish, eh?  I love the CE version for my Graflex as well.

Well I'm officially entered; sent US my Renegade LE with LITE sound through the mail this morning, and they're going to turn it into a Premium v4 Sound with Recharge Port Beast.  Still on the fence about maybe entering a second time by getting something new.  I'm trying to restrain myself lol

Indeed, i think so far ive bought into a grab bag before the raffle started. Then i bought a Scorpion with amethyst blade but they are currently out of the black with the claw so switched to Crimson with AV switch and v4 obsidian which was my first entry. Then ordered two initiate sabers for my two sons, blue/silver hilt for my middle boy and red dark LE for my oldest boy (have a daughter but shes too young for a saber and would likely destroy her brothers lol) and i just ordered the Archon V2.1 with Obsidian v4 sound as well. All the while trying to build my Kylo Ren cosplay and buying the black series replica :P so im broke for sabers now ahah

I couldn't take it.  I broke down and entered a 2nd time for something new. Followed JediSeth's lead and went after an Archon with the Flash20 sale.  Can't wait to mod this thing out with some MHS parts :)

Yes for sure this is correct. You can get both the flash sale and the Spring raffle entry. You got to hurry though the clock is ticking.

Congratulations Mask (I would call you MoM, except that sounds weird). I would love to have an Archon of either version. Sadly, they are quiet a bit lower on the list, and a little higher on price. Anyways, can't wait to see pics.

I just sent an e-mail as well, since it didn't work when I tried it.  The Flash code worked fine, but when I entered the raffle code, it dumped the Flash code and brought the price back up to normal (minus a penny of course).  Trying to enter the Flash code again didn't work until I removed the raffle code.

While I'd like to enter the raffle, the 20% off Archon v2 was too good to pass up, since it is a, relatively, cheap way to get a new Diamond controller for my Archon v3.1...just swap the emitter and pommels.  The Archon v3.1 was my first Ultrasaber, and keeping it modern just by getting a Archon v2 hilt and swapping parts seems reasonable given the replacement cost a good $130 dollars less with the 20% off and not needing a few things that I already have.   This will be my only non-heavy grade blade though.

SImply means they are getting the saber ready for shipment. You should get an email when it actually ships and the account/order page will be updated as well. Depending on which saber you ordered it could be back ordered but those should have an acknowledgement screen before them.

If you read what I put here on this post on page 8 you will see how to enter the raffle. You put only the flash code in the coupon code section and everything else in the comments field right when your buying.

Either way, I'm so excited to get my hands on a few sabers. A friend of mine picked up an Ultrasaber at a con last year, and I was so impressed with the craftsmanship, so I decided to go all out.

I've got some plans to do a few review videos - There's not too many for the Fulcrum out there, so I'm going to see what I can do to give someone a good feel for the saber.

Nice config with the yellow blade and yellow AV switch and DIAMOND, oh DIAMOND, very cool, and you are going to really like that NICKEL finish. That's what I've got on my Guardian, too, and it is gorgeous! I wouldn't want it any other way, personally, and the recharge port sits nicely flush with the shroud.

i also already have two grab bags, i bought to test the ultrasabers quality and stuff before taking the plunge on a full bells and whistles model. dark apprentice LE V4 orange LED, and an aeon LE V4 in blue.

i think my favorite between the two of them is the initiate, it feels so nice in the hand and for spinning and stuff, i very well may send it into them at some point to have sound added to it and stuff, i like that handle quite a bit.

I really love the Grab bags I've gotten - I love the rolling the dice and seeing what US throws at me - got my first Red Dominix that way, and later paid for Sentinel Yellow, and they hooked me up with an actual Sentinel hilt.  Truth be told the sentinel hilt has proven to be the most comfy hilt I own so far.  Never held an initiate though - may be going after onein a few months and seeing how those go.

sorry didn't mean initiate at the end there, i meant the apprentice, i assume the sentinel would feel almost exactly the same as the aeon, it's nice, but i gotta say the apprentice is a really good handle design, it's pretty simplistic, but i like the smaller length, and for spinning and light saber style fighting i think it's just about perfect, i hope the guardian feels anywhere near as good in the hand.

the scorpion, emperor's hand, and flamberge v2 are pretty much tied right now for which saber i'd go for next (meaning next 'big purchase' saber, with sound and all) emperor's hand and scorpion i'd either go emerald v4 for, or diamond, flamberge i'd go just obsidian v4 and if i win the emerald prize i'm going for two emperor's hands.

I wonder what the total count of entries is at??

I can only speak for the Scorpion - that was the first saber I ever got, and I have no complaints on it at all.  If you DO go that way, I suggest a 40" blade on it - the length of the Scorpion works super well as a two-hander.


Oh man, I have no idea what I'd go for if I won, well...ANYTHING.  This is the 4th Raffle I've been in, and the 7th overall raffle entry, and I haven't struck gold yet.  Almost afraid to think of what I would pick if I won one of the top-tier spots lol  Buuuuut, I can dream I guess hehe.  In THAT perfect universe where there's some justice, and I win the Emerald prize, I think I'd go for a Flamberge CE (which I would load up with photon blades), and then maybe either a Mantis CE, or a Raven that I would forge out some custom claws for - make them a little closer to the original video game design.

same, it's nice to be hopeful. if by a stroke of luck I pull one of the pair of choice....a dark shock in DVA for my right hand in the group and a mantis CE in AS for another group member, who in exchange will get a azure reaper OB lite in AB for our record keeper. throw in my OB raffle prize dark sentinel LE in FO and malice emerald V4 (and a few other sound saber from other places or in plans) the group could make a great impression here out at events.

Nope not the case.

Much like what Jediseth said there is no guarantee anyone will win, some have won prizes more than once and others have never won.  It's always random and luck of the draw.

it's a chance, just remember that. I was going to buy the Archon V3 anyways for the group's raffle, I'm handing off the prize to someone or someones in my group anyways. so no matter how it pans out from here, I'm not keeping one out of this run.

I remember reading somewhere on one of these threads that past raffles had estimated odds at like 1 in 30.

Correction, I tracked down the post and it was a 1 in 3 estimate, which if true those are some ridiculously better odds than what I originally thought!  I suspect the truth is somewhere in between but who knows.

if it were 1/30 that would mean 30x95 entries. 30 times 90 is 2700, 30x5 is 150 so 2850 entries, 2850x250 minimum entry amount would mean 2000x250 would be 500,000 800x250 is 200,000 and 50x250=1250 that would be 701,250 minimum in a month for ultrasabers obviously 1/3 would be 1/10th that, so 270 entries, and 70,125, so yeah, probably somewhere in the middle ground i think seems likely.

sorry i'm a math guy, i just thought it'd be interesting to figure out what a 1/30 odds of winning a prize would look like for ultrasabers business, i might try to calculate what the prizes cost them in product, but given the randomness it's pretty much impossible.

yeah, best thing you could do would bea low-high prize range of 30X55 for grab bag, or alternatively, '30x55-229 for 'the price range of every possible product a grab bag could potentially(even if probably not) win you'' then you'd have to do the same for the other prize levels for 'price of every saber possible with obsidian sound' and so on,...one big problem is the 'random handle with random features and sound.' prize, which makes the calculation extremely difficult to guess.

It's a fair chunk of change. US would be super generous to do this once; Doing it several times a year is amazing :)

Now, the big question is, would you go for different 'sabres if you won the Emerald grand prize or the Obsidian prize?

So agree with you, JC. Not to mention the back to back promotions they do in between. Any raffle ticket means Ultrasabers product is still coming your way even if you don't win compared to possibly walking away with nothing for the traditional raffle ticket you buy. It's a beautiful thang.

Well, this was the thing that had me bothered for a while there - I wanted my Reaper to match my Obsidian Crimson Reaper, so an Emerald prize meant I couldn't go for that. At one point I had idle thoughts of getting at least one of a Graflex or Chosen One just to see if I liked the approach more as a duelling hilt... But I'm a canon colours guy, so Emerald on either hilt would be wasted for me (cool flash effect, I guess, and a subtle pulse from one shade of blue or red to another... But still, not making the full use of the Emerald board!)

Now I've completed my wishlist, so all bets are off! I have no idea what I'd choose either way around - Although a pair of Bellicoses is probably a bit much, even for me ;D

Have to agree with you there ... as my own tastes have matured I'm believing more in one purposed colour for one hilt - and not as intetested in colour changing as I used to be.

So definitely, the Grand Prize type alters what hilts I'd be interested in. Also, Tri-Cree is an emerging fresh change for me too so that introduces other interesting thought processes.

I agree with you both on purposed and canon colors. I've taken that approach with my Graflex in Tri AB, my Fulcrum and Lost Gray in Tri CG and photon blade green and Guardian in Tri GB. My latest will be the Chosen One in Tri BR. The fullness/brightness you get from the Tri colors as well as feeling drawn to lock in their "classic" look outweighed the pulse/FoC with Emerald for me on those hilts, too. I love mixing it up, though, with non-Canon and Ultrasabers original designs, like the Scorpion, Arbiter and Catalyst. To me definitely worth the Diamond especially where QD's aren't available.

I haven't received my shipping notice yet so I'm assuming they are now holding them till the end of the raffle.

So I've been bouncing back and forth over what to do... and I think I'm going to try something a bit strange. Instead of ordering a saber that I've had my eye on for a while, one that I really want and risk another hiccup or mixup. I'm going to order something I'm NOT interested in. Something I've never really looked once at, let alone looked twice at. I thought about ordering the Scorpion, but someone said they were out of the black with the claw, so that s*** on that parade. I'd never really given it much thought because of the neck windows.

So now I'm back to the drawing board and scrolling through the site looking for something that I consider average at best, to let go of all preconceived notions and expectations, and just give US a chance to impress me.

This idea came to me because my Apprentice LE (one I'd never considered because I didn't like how it looked on the site) was a grab bag and it totally blew me away with how good it was when I saw it in person. So I figured why not give them another chance to do that?

I've been debating as well, Isola... Think, think, think, felt like I was going in circles sometimes, and I ended up surprising myself, so to me it makes a LOT of sense to go for the opposite of what you think you want. There's a lot more to these than meets the proverbial eye. I discovered that with the Arbiter and the Standard Issue, the latter being a Second Place prize in the last raffle. I think you'd love the Sentinel, the Apprentice or the Standard Issue. I have all three and they have some strengths in simplicity and agility that the higher end ones don't. Pretty cool, really.

Question about the Scorpion: Did you not like the Crimson Scorpion? That's the one I just ordered WITH the claw, and I'm quite excited about it.

Yes it does make sense. I've been eyeing the Bellicose for quite some time now. Not because I like it. Because I really, really don't. I was able to try it out and I found it too cylindrical for my taste. Then again considering how the Aeon v4, which I wasn't very fond of either, grew on me I thought I'd give it a chance someday.   

I've actually been thinking of starting a "Sell me the _______" thread where someone mentions a saber they don't really care for then the community tries to change their mind. But not sure if that's already been done or if it's even a good idea at the moment.

I'm sure we all have hilts we've looked at and discounted. Sometimes opinions change, sometimes not - some of my favourite hilts are those I'd not have chosen on first inspection. I was never a fan of the Prophecy, for example, but then handling one sold me on it in seconds.

I would suggest, should you start the thread, that the tone of the opening post be given careful consideration. Done wrong, it could come across as bashing US' products, which I know isn't the intention, but could seem to be the case as you're essentially saying "I don't like X..."

I don't think it's a bad idea at all.

I get what James is saying, but we all know that the quality of any hilt is top notch - that's not in question.

The only parts up for debate would be visual appeal, aesthetics, and perhaps intended use.

US offers a TON of designs.  They obviously aren't going to appeal to every person.

I know that when I first joined, there were a number of sabers that didn't appeal to me - for various reasons, but now I see some of them in a different way, and a good portion of that is due to other member's opinions...

I truly don't think it would degrade into US bashing - on the contrary, it could increase sales.  ::)

I absolutely LOVE my Apprentice and Standard Issue. They are both stunt setup and I'm sure I would be happy with a Sentinel too. But this is kind of the problem in a nutshell. Every cheap hilt I've gotten I have loved instantly. From the Prophecy and up (price wise) I have had issues. EXCEPT for the Monarch, which was one I scoffed at first, and then bought while still not totally convinced, but convinced enough from seeing it with the Mantis pommel on it to give it a go. It was a happy accident, like the Apprentice. The Liberator was bought for a photo prop and I loved it, and the Mantis bought for someone else and I loved it.

The three that had me most excited - Dark Catalyst, Prophecy and Arbiter... well you've seen what happened to them. Mostly. There is still one more "rebuild" coming out of that. So the ones I've REALLY wanted have let me down, and the others have been amazing. So I feel like ordering a Guardian, Emperor's Hand, Menace, Malice or Raven (my main list of the dearer ones) now would be asking for a world of hurt if this trend continues. So maybe I should look at stuff I find bland, or even stuff I don't like the look of at all.

The crimson scorpion might be alright, it's probably less appealing to me than the black one. But red is such a "clash" color that it's hard for me to spec it out in a way that doesn't feel like Stevie Wonder ordered it.

Maybe I just need to write them down and pull a name out of a hat.

Exactly why I didn't do it, and why I'm not going to. I have the knack of doing things wrong, saying things that come out wrong, and, well you get the idea. I'll just continue to study reviews of hilt designs that aren't my cup of tea for the meantime.  ;D

I never have had a desire to get any of the crimson or azure hilts - with my scorpion I went black, BUT...what would be neat to me (at least as far as the scorpion goes) is if US offered the Scorpion models with your choice of shroud.  I mean...a crimson Scorpion with a black shroud or vice-versa would be pretty awesome.

Now that would be adventurous! Wise I'm not so sure, lol.  But writing down 10 hilts you'd never consider and the first one you draw ... you buy :o  Don't think I'd be brave enough to do it but what a fun idea.

It's like your own personal grab bag. I think it sounds freakin cool! I'm going to do that one day, probably limiting it to one of the lower to mid range sabers, but yeah, I think it's an awesome idea to treat yourself to, as then whichever one you pick, you get to configure it any way you like including fully loaded, so that's your reward for being brave enough to let chance make the choice for you.

Side note, though, I personally don't think you'd find yourself disappointed with the Emperor's Hand. It's pretty flawless IMO, but it's also my favorite now. I think US they really nailed it.

You wouldn't really be losing I'm my opinion. Would you have the strength to not re- pick.

I think setting yourself up with something random out of a hat is a cool idea, really.  I mean...bottom line is that you're either pleasantly surprised and have something new to play with, or something you don't feel bad about modding the hell out of, or gifting, or just being as brutal as possible with.  Personally if it turned out to be a bummer, I would go nuts customizing it - turn it into something that IS awesome.

Good idea to limit it to ten. I'm going to make a list of (in my opinion) the ten most undesirable hilts in the price bracket from the Bellicose up.



I want to try and keep it at or under $350 for this one. I like the idea of doing this as a diamond or emerald experiment as a test bed though... so I will give it some more thought while i've got time.

The low-mid range have been the winners though. So this needs to happen on a high-end. Go big or go home ;)

Yep, it sure did, but they're neck in neck, I'll tell you that. The Guardian is such a nice hilt, so tactile and perfectly weighted for me, especially with the Nickel finish, but that design on the EH is killer, the emitter especially.  ;D

There are some good reasons for this. All of the lower end ultrasabers are designed for function. They may tend toward the plain, but they are all great in the hand.

The other reason is the psychology of expectations. If your friends recommend you a movie, telling you it's the bestest evar!!1!! You're far more likely to walk away disappointed, than if you are told it is TERRIBULL, and you go and see it anyway. Even though it's the same movie.

There is also value for the dollar. If you spend more, you expect more.

When I first started looking at ultrasabers, my perception was that I'd have to buy one of the more expensive hilts to get a great saber. That has not been the case. After gaining some experience, I now tend to prefer the lower end hilts much more than the fancy, expensive ones.

And I'll be the bad guy here and tell you I think you are crazy to throw a bunch of money on a random expensive saber you don't expect to like, in the off chance you'll end up liking it anyway. But hey, it's your money. ;)

By all means be the bad guy. I posted it to start conversation both for, and against my insanity :)

I am more curious if I got entered.  I had to sent an e-mail to ask for entry due to using the Flash sale on the Archon v2.  Not heard back yet.

Even if not entered, I still get a nice new saber with a Diamond Controller.  But if I get entered, I get a chance for more things.

What I do with those things?   I have no idea really.  I might keep them, but it is more likely I'll present them as presents.

I'll play devil's advocate here and note that, for the price of a 'sabre with Diamond etc. installed, you could get two of the middling hilts in stunt setup as testbeds for modifications... Even set them up with the li-ion power option out of the box. I think you have an Emerald board kicking around spare from your Arbiter, although I may be mistaken on that.

A Shock + a Raven, say, with li-ion batteries and no chargers would probably be around the $350 you're looking at.

Otherwise, I'm definitely intrigued by the idea of drawing :) Have you settled on the 10?

I never said Emerald, someone else did. LB I think. My limit is $350 because it's $60 in postage as well. That knocks out any mid to top end hilt from that budget. Ravens are out of stock too by the way.


My Arbiter was a BR/FOC SY/V4, not emerald, and that saber has already been scrapped and rebuilt (see my post "The 815 Sanguine" http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=34522.0). Only the *cough*one piece*cough* body is left over from that now.

I have decided on my 10. Some of the "undesirables" are currently out of stock, like the Bellicose and the Flamberge so it took me a little longer to narrow them down. I have done a video of me drawing the "winner" and choosing the specs of said "winner". I have enjoyed getting the grab-bags, It's kind of like Christmas morning. The collection I got in my entry for the raffle included all the ones I wished for and made me look at getting a fully tricked out one next.... Oh the choices. I have stunt versions of the Electrum Wind and Grafflex se. The EH is very tempting.

Ok I really enjoyed watching that :)  I hope you love the Crimson Scorp - it's come and gone on my own wish list because just too much emitter windows for me.  That and I'm more into smaller hilt sizes trying to stay at 12" or less.

Nice!  The only difference between our orders is I went with a Silver Illuminated AV Switch that's Blue.  Aside from that we have the same toy hehe

I didn't even have the Archon on my want list, but after it came up on the Flash sale and I got to looking at it...I didn't realize it MHS compatible at both ends.  That and the super-reduced Flash sale price sold me.  Now I can't wait for the thing to arrive.

The Emerald and Diamond sabers are sabers you can change the colors on.

Basically what they're saying is that you pick a color, and that's what you get - no Emeralds or Diamonds (unless you want to upgrade them - I think they allow that on the Raffle prizes)

Isola, that was fantastic - A lot of effort and a brilliant outcome. I wonder if anyone's ever gone for a Crimson Scorpion with that setup... I've certainly never seen any, so I'm looking forward to your pics/video! I hope you really like it, or at least that you see potential in it to work with :)

Wholeheartedly agree! Let's all give a point to Isola! He sure earned it. That was the most fun I've had yet watching a video here on SaberForum, but then, Isola's videos are always a treat to watch. I think we all have to ask ourselves are we brave enough to do what Isola just did and let random chance pick our saber for us. I hadn't considered the randomness being applied to every component on the saber, and it got more suspenseful with each reveal from those little pieces of paper.  :D

I definitely believe that no one here has done this before, and it kind of feels like a "SaberForum Challenge", like are you brave enough to do it.  8)

Note the difference in the detailing - I ordered my Crimson Reaper in autumn 2013, and the scoring is much thinner. An interesting contrast. I'll have to check my Azure Reaper to see whether its different again, although that was a protoype, I believe. There's also additional detailing to the emitter of the newer hilt, which I'll show photos of in the full review I do soon.

So I see what you mean that the "new" Reaper is noticeably more defined than the "old" Crimson Reaper.  Me likey.  ::)  8) The emitter on the Reaper is so unique, too.  A lot of character, and I like how it seems to kinda float at the top, not looking like it makes full contact with the hilt.

I think the yellow actually works quite well with that shade of Crimson.  :o

Firstly, I would definitely make some rules to follow the same format you did, like this:
1) Hilt, LED blade color and Flash on Clash are the THREE (3) components you will draw for
2) A minimum of 10 sabers must be selected and no more than 15
3) You have to be willing to embrace the outcome
4) You get ONE (1) "Throw Away" blade color, if you don't like the color you drew
5) This challenge is intended for single LED color sabers, including Tri LEDs, but Emerald/Diamond is ok, too, as long as they share their impressions in a video review before changing the color.
6) After the hilt, LED blade color and FoC are randomly drawn, you get to choose everything else.

I just don't really want a saber with an illuminated switch.  I think it would distract, plus use more power.  While it be handy for telling if the saber is out of power to recharge it, I just don't have a need for that feature.  I contemplated RGBA like in my Apprentice v4, but I guess I wanted to keep this Archon as close to my current Archon v3 as possible, because I intend to swap parts (making in a Archon v3 with Diamond Controller).  Not sure of US will be able to put the covertech wheel on the new one where I have the wheel on my v3.1 (I have mine on the rear near the pommel as oppose to the right or left sides).

I already have an extra Archon v2 emitter, so if I wanted to have a matched set, I can have two Archon v2s, one with Emerald and one with Diamond.  Or using the vented connect I have, an Archon staff.  (I only have Archon pommels, as I got an Archon pommel for my Apprentice to add a bit of length to it).

Who's got the guts to take my challenge for their raffle entry? Or even just for ANY order.

i'm not sold on the ce honestly, i think head to toe silver is kinda boring honestly, but i like it for a light side crossguard, the v2 though i love the 'omen' design for the handle it makes it a nice display piece just for the handle by itself, and while it's a bit more dark side could make a decent light side or neutral as well, hrmm, the renegade is longer than the flamberge, that's surprising, the claws make it look shorter. i think renegade might have better emitters, but i don't like the claws much, and i prefer the way the flamberge v2 handle looks to any of the handle(meaning everything below the emitter) designs for the renegade. only thing i dislike about the flamberge v2 is the same thing i dislike about any of the crossguard handles which is that unless i go silver color disks i have to commit to a color,...which i find it hard to do,...which is why my first saber was always going to be emerald or diamond, if i ever buy a saber i have to commit to the color on, and it's not something obvious like a sith saber, or quigon's or mace's i'll very likely use your method to determine color at least.

Same for me on the side blade drama! See we do agree on some stuff :p

Have come close to ordering one a few times, but the side blade colors being the "odd men out" stops me every time I start building it. Well that and my last "dark" hilt was 4 different blacks.

I love the claws though. It's like something Batman would have  8)

just so you know i added a bit more to my post that based on your quote you haven't read. i think the claws are just a bit silly and overkill, especially because they're the least practical claws on any of the saber handles, their only use from a 'practical' sense would be to swing the handle like a hammer or pickaxe at someone, at least all the other claws point away from you in a vaguely weapon-like manner

I just think the claws LOOK Billy Bad-ass and that's good enough for me. Being impractical is how I like most things. I like cars with no more than two doors, and two seats is even better. I like trucks that are dropped so low you have to decrease the bed depth when you notch the chassis to the point of it being useless at carrying anything anymore. Impractical things are where it's at for me  8)

Hey if you use my method for one part, you might be tempted to go crazy the next time ;) and maybe then other people might start to use it for future purchases and future raffles  ;D

maybe one day, for now anything 250$ and up is way too much for me to do a silly gambling thing on. especially not 'things i might not like' i could see myself doing it to clear items off my wish list maybe if i'm having an especially hard time deciding what to get next, but nah, no way would i do it for the foreseeable future.

i could very easily see myself using that method to clear wish list items, or to settle on a saber color, or anything like that, but it's going to be quite a while before i ever buy anything other than perhaps an occasional grab bag from them again after this, and i might skip random occasional grab bags to save up for the next raffle.

My only problem with the Scorpion and Flamberge is that they are too big for me to use.  I'm a small framed guy and sabers like the Sentinel and Prophecy are must better suited for me.

I have had problems with them more than once. I'm the same way. Way back when they stuck my on their prime program and started charging me without my consent. They make it less sneaky now. Paid on it for months before I figured it out. It's PayPal,  straight Visa or nothing.

I'm not sure when my Archon is arriving - that one is still processing for me.  Excited about it though - have some MHS parts to mod it out and have some fun with it

Most excellent! I have the Arbiter in Tri Fire Orange myself and love that color. Yellow ought to look really slick on that hilt. I was thinking a Dark Arbiter in Yellow or perhaps with Diamond RGBA to make a beautiful GOLD blade with a yellow illuminated AV switch.

I think it's hilarious.  Not sure why, spur of the moment, I decided on that, I had been intending SRD flash to AB, but I ended up selecting DVA/VA.

I also had been intending on getting first diamond in a Consular, which would have been a bit cheaper.  But finally getting a Prophecy with sound and color changing driver won out.

A year ago when I purchased a Dark Prophecy for a friend all I could find that looked good for a black hilt with sound was the Councilor pommel.

That's the one I used on my mine for months after I got it. I put the Archon Pommel on my Consular with the shroud. The EH pommel is so perfect. I just ordered another black one for my Dark Prophecy since the one in my picture was borrowed from the EH.

Not a silly question at all. The raffle doesn't end until midnight Central time on Tuesday, April 11th, and only after that time will they actually do the raffle drawing. In theory, yes.  You'd added another paper with your name on it to the hat.   But you have also increased the total number of names in the hat.

so if they pull out my name twice they wouldn't toss the second and draw again? has anyone ever won twice would i think be another good way of asking this? also, i just read your sig, you've given away(i assume that's what gifted means) more than twice the number of sabers you own,...and one of the sabers you own you don't even have yet, and you've given out some NICE sabers,...i,...i don't know if i respect, envy, or on some level despise you or some other unfathomable emotion(joking, i don't despise you in any way shape or form.)

People have won twice in a single raffle.  I don't know if they have internally changed any rules to prevent that or not, but there was a double winner last year at the very least.

As for the gifts.    Many of them were raffle entries to see if I'd win anything.  I haven't so far.   The first was a pair of grab bags I gave to a pair of friends that go to conventions.   I later sent them in for upgrades during another sale or raffle.  I got one of the v2 lightsabers for free with that order.  I have that one to one of by other friend's seven year old son.  The two really nice Emerald Sabers were on sale (10% off) I gave to a friend who I was best man at his wedding.  He got the Renegade, she got the Graflex.  The second v2 came free with that set, which I gave to their older son so he could match his seven year old brother's v2 from earlier.   I gave the parent the two better sabers so they could defend themselves from their own children.  If the two v2 free sabers had been v3s, I would have offered to have them upgraded for sound at some point.  But them being v2 without sound is probably better for the parents.

The Dark Prophecy I had ordered during an earlier raffle to see what the Obsidian LITE was like and was for another convention goer, also as a combined birthday/Christmas present.  It was on backorder for a very long time.  I had ordered it before I sent the first two grab bags to be upgraded as Christmas presents.  It arrived last of all these sabers.   I still have a plan to give a couple a Fulcrum/Lost Grey pair as wedding present in another year and a half.  I am getting the Diamond Archon for myself as an upgrade, but also to see it the tech would suit that wedding present, or if something less would be more effective.

These pictures were taken quite literally the day before I was to start handing them back to people.  The two refitted with Sound went one weekend, the other four the weekend after than.  The Prophecy waited another month before it got to the hands of its new master.  I only have the two (Archon v3 and Apprentice v4/w Archon pommel) here presently.

oh! you got the renegade emerald with silver sides (guessing for color filters to match the emerald modifications.) but i've been meaning to ask, does the saber look goofy in your opinion with mismatched colors for the blade and guard? IE if you had a CG blade and SRD guard would that be silly looking do you think? for the record you're a HELL of a lot more altruistic than i am, and bravo for it, granted i have a minimum wage job, so if i get a 400-500 dollar product i can't afford to give it away.

there's been quite a few of us who gifted sabers to friends. any prize I win this raffle will be gifted as well.

i know, i just won't be one of them ^^ helps that i only have one friend really and what i own, he owns as well for all practical purposes. the thing that gets me more about it was that he only owns 3 sabers, one of which he just bought, and has given away 7,...that's crazy to me, but awesome definitely awesome, and some damn good reasons to give away such awesome sabers :)

I have only seen it once with the color discs in, and they were a pale red compared to the main blade.   I never put them in myself.  We fiddled with the main blade color a little last time, but his batteries were low.  It looks a little odd, but with an Emerald you can, at least in theory, match the side blades color discs and thus keep the entire unit with a flicker/pulse if you keep the fourth channel (or whatever channel you have US assign to the side blades).

Color is a personal aesthetic thing  Different people find things pleasing.   SRD side blades with CG main might look fine.  Other people will tweak on it for not being exactly the same color.  

 I wish the Diamond had the ability to change the side blades color.  Not only for those that want matching blades with the pulse feature, or be able to change colors on the fly, but also for those that like to mismatch their blades completely.  Imagine a saber with a red main blade, a yellow right side blade, and a purple left side blade, that pulse to completely different colors from each other on lockup.  The red hits with an Orange as normal, but the yellow pulses to green and the purple pulses to blue.  That would not only be weird, it also make cause a rave party to happen.

And that's why there is some good Karma coming your way guys! Maybe not in prizes, but it will find you at some point  ;D

lol! that would be trippy as hell, yeah, i hope they come out with some sort of functionality like that for diamond guard sabers, i'd buy one almost instantly, the lack of emerald/diamond functionality for them is pretty much the only reason i didn't go for a guard saber first.

Strongly advise getting the LEE filters.  There are two or three reds that give near perfect match to the red LED.  The only of the RGB trio that I haven't yet found a perfect match for is the green LED, but you can get close and tweak the emerald main blade to it.

LEE filters are a sample set of theater lighting filters than can be purchased online for maybe a dollar.  The small book of color filter samples can yield a few one inch diameter circles with of color filters for a lightsaber to better match what you like.

It requires a folded piece of regular paper and sandwich the LEE filter in between because the hole punch only works with stiffer materials like paper, card stock, etc., and won't cut completely through the LEE filter before the LEE filter bends.  Here's a video where I do this (I'm using a 1.25 inch hole punch in this example, which works better for an MHS emitter because it's easier to unscrew the emitter and put the LEE filter in and screw the emitter back down on to it.  1 inch hole punch is best for non-MHS emitters and works for MHS emitters, too:

It's a lot of fun - the Reapers really suit the curve, I think.

the curved reaper is the one hilt I would keep if I won....an azure reaper I'd have to fight someone in my group for..

Im going to DragonCon this year so i may grab a Azure Reaper with the Orange Blade :P It will either be that or one of the Flamberge hilts. Considering im going to cosplay Kylo Ren ill likely grab the Flamberge :P

Sounds gorgeous. I think the Azure Reaper with a Tri Fire Orange blade would look amazing. I think the PO would be a bit too dark.  I also think a Tri Arctic Blue with a red illuminated AV switch would look awesome as well.

but -WHY?!- are they testing it at conventions or something? i'm honestly not a fan of the mantis, but that looks absolutely amazing, why doesn't ultrasabers want me throwing my money at them?

I have no idea other than it's the only convention only saber. I asked and they have no plans on releasing it to the store.

So unless you go to one of the conventions they attend your probably not getting it.

right! I'd so jump on a curved reaper....but I'd have a serious drive to one of the cons they attend to get one.

on a side note, one of my members wants the azure reaper in artic blue badly.

Ahhhhhh...  So yeah, woke up today, was feeling a little down because a couple things in my house are suddenly in need of repair and I'm seriously strapped for time to take care of these things, and on my way to work I was ruminating about all that and then remembered:  today is the 11th, the raffle is over tonight, I'm entered in it twice, and uh...I feel pretty good because there's no way the universe is so cruel that it's gonna keep me from winning something yet again...  Amirite, or amirite?

And for sure - of course I'd love to win something this time around, but even the last few raffles when I didn't win (and if the fates decree that I am not to win this time) I haven't ever regretted making the purchases - I love my my sabers, and am super happy that I'm now on these forums amongst likeminded enthusiasts.

Really it would be any orange they happen to have unless i find a really nice orange colored color disk to use for a silver blade. I also ended up ordering a Crimson Scorpion with a Amethyst blade. Purple and Red may clash but holy hell do they look good together :P

That's a really smart buisness move and it is great for the customers and fans too! I feel like if I want it more than anyone else I'll have a better chance!

I made it in, a last minute order of a pair of Menace SE. One "stunt" and one "empty hilt" got a DIY project I'd like to do with them. I'm going to make one a premium stunt saber and the other I'll put an old Obsidian V3 I have. I'll have sound in one but they will both have a lock up mode and a flash on clash, cant wait to get started on these.
