Heh, I'm glad LB and LR had answers to that, I wouldn't have known. (points to both of you) I just let them ship mine as is, which was with a resistor and no charger.

Me, too. I just emailed them to ask if I could pay extra to upgrade mine to an illuminated AV switch and add a Covertec wheel, and I'd leave the AV switch color completely up to them.

Ha ha, thanks, SFD. They're great about letting you pay extra as long as you notify them right away. With the Grand Prize and Emerald Prize, it's easier because they're waiting on you anyway to tell them what your two choices are.

Yeah - on my 2nd place prize last Raffle, I asked Marlena to check for me if it had an AV switch or Guarded, without telling me what the actual hilt was.

It had the Guarded so I paid $15 for a N-I AV Switch.

In fact - I actually asked her yesterday, in the Event I got lucky with a prize again, to add a note so it doesn't go out the door immediately so I can see if there is anything I may want added.  Waiting now to hear back on my general questions (without spoiling what the hilt is).  :)

You betcha! I'll definitely be entering the next raffle as well. They're such a blast and it continues to blow my mind when I remind myself that they've been doing 4 of these a year, sometimes even more often. I won the Grand Prize in the Autumn 2016 raffle, and it is so cool. You can pretty much get anything you want, if you're willing to pay extra. I ended up choosing the Guardian and Manticore CE, both nickel finish, illuminated AV switch and recharge port. They're really good to work with you to make it the saber you want.

Theres another curved saber, the curved Reaper that's currently a con exclusive. I don't go for the Mantis design either  but if you can get to a con, the Reaper is an AMAZING lightsaber and a curved one would be that much cooler.

Here's a tip you may want to consider: you can pay extra to upgrade your two sabers to features you want, like nickel finish, illuminated AV switch, recharge port, etc. The sabers you'll receive will be configured with the default options, so just like buying one through the store, any drop-down option that costs more there will cost more on your prize saber, so be sure to ask them about that if you want any of those things, and they'll have you purchase requisitions to cover the extra cost for the upgrades. For instance, I upgraded my Guardian and Manticore to a nickel finish, illuminated AV switches, covertec wheel and quick disconnects on the Manticore and a recharge port on the Guardian, otherwise they would have come with the aluminum finish, guarded switch and of course, minus the CW, QD and RP.

my order has shipped and will be here only 2 days after my consular, which just arrived and is GORGEOUS, though now that i look at it kinda wishing i'd gotten a red illuminated AV switch for slightly closer to movie accuracy, but i love the white one all the same, once i get my raffle prize and entry and everything i'll start filming reviews for everything, plus an unboxing for the grab bags, raffle entry, and prize!

I like the white AV switch on my Consular, too, because it matches up nicely to most blade colors. Lookin forward to the big reveal. Hope you have a blast on it.

Could NOT agree more! 😆  Well said, Vervidian. Point to you. I'll never forget the experience of getting my first lightsaber from Ultrasabers. It's surreal.

I can't wait to see what kind of hilt they picked for me. Third Prize -  I am so excited!! And on top of that, I will get my first diamond saber (Archon 2.1) which is double the fun for me, since it is a design that is very close to Luke's very own from EP 6, and it's a diamond saber with all the sounds and all the colors. I am probably going to fiddle around with it for weeks :D

The Archon 2.1 seems to be a favorite around here. Especially for diamond. I have an Archon 3.1 and they're both great sabers.

that's why i went for white, because i got the quick disconnect, so any time i want a new LED i want the white button to match better with it. plus i really liked the way the guy with the 'the dark knight' sig looked.

I would have taken Archon 3.1 if it wasn't restricted to heavy grade blades only. It looks even more like the real deal, but the heavy grade blades are less of a showcase and more for fighting, which I don't do that often. So Archon 2.1 will do for me.

Just got my Lost Gray when I got home today to complete my set with the Fulcrum I purchased a while back and surprise it shipped with my 4th place stunt saber!

well my unboxing video fell apart :P my guardian is gorgeous and glorious as hell! reviews for it and the consular will come from me, but i got an initate LE v4 for my raffle prize, and another twin saber(almost the same blade color too! one is sunrider's one is consular) from one of my grab bags, very happy with that! will definitely make an initiate staff.

Just got my first entry and the grab bag for 4th place. Gotta say the crimson scorpion is massive! The av switch is illuminated white. The blade is Violet Amethyst though it's leaning more on the bluish side than purple ( would throwing a color disc over the LED help?). My wife loves it so it may become her saber soon enough ahaha! And of course the Apprentice LE V4 is awesome as well! Guardian Blue and likely getting handed to a friend as a gift or going to my oldest son.

 - I got a "standard issue battle saber V3" with a Lithium-Ion Battery setup (awesome) and an orange blade. I have to admit that orange is not my favorite blade color, but heck, I am NOT complaining! I finally got my sabers today!!!!! My entry for the raffle was a Graflex CE with Diamond and a quick release coupler. The Grab Bag i got is a Dominix LE v2 in Guardian Blue with Ultraedge Blade Midgrade. and what i got for the Raffle First Prize an Archon 2.1 with Obsidian and Emerald. this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! thank you SO MUCH ultrasabers, You made me a very happy person!!!!!!!

That Standard Issue always catches me by surprise - such a clean, sharp design with that slanted emitter. It's truly a gem. I think it's an awesome third prize for sure, so congrats, man!  ;)

I am 100% with haz on that Archon about that black AV switch! That's a really great look! I don't think I've ever seen one with a full black AV switch AND black bezel on the Archon, so really brilliant choice, I'd say!  Awesome!

Got my sabers today! Pics are in the gallery, but my entry was the Emperor's Hand with Diamond controller and my 1st place prize was a Crimson Reaper with emerald and obsidian v3!

I never really liked the Reaper, but having one in-hand, it's actually pretty awesome!

The free shirt was a small, so I gave it to my wife.

Got my raffle sabers! I had ordered a Guardian and a Scorpion but the Scorpion was out of stock so I grabbed a Flamberge and then for the raffle saber I got a curved Reaper! I made out damn well with this one! I've already customized the reaper a bit as you can see. Got a standard issue as well as a bonus saber

That curved reaper looks awesome, congratulations! :o  Did you do the etching on the curve and around the activation switch or did it come like that?

Curved hilts are still not my style, but that curved reaper is beautiful.

I love the background you chose for you Curved Reaper. It is totally a pirate saber if ever I saw one.

Thanks a bunch! Thats the result of a lot of masking tape and spray paint. I modeled it after my regular Reaper so now they have a very similar appearanceand I'm quite happy with the saber. Moving the claw to the shroud and removing the claw on the rear cut down on the weight and size of the saber a bit, more like my custom Reaper.


Ive wanted a curved ultrasaber for some time but I didnt like the style on the Mantis. I'd planned to make a curved scorpion but this ended up working out just fine and Im very happy with it!


Oh thanks it worked out just being the nearest flat surface with a good drop off for the blade. Didnt even think about my lego ship back there haha. I was kind of surprised how well it balanced on the claw there.

Thanks very much, I'm damn proud of it, though sadly now I have to do something with my non-curved reaper. I used the shroud from it for the new one though so thats always nice, I did a lot of work on that old shroud and claw. The curved reaper, for those who might be curious, has the LED a bit more forward than the regular reaper so it really needs the black blade holder part to extend out from the shroud, so I had to keep the full size black blade holder despite prefering the cut back version on my original reaper.

My sabers arrived yesterday, time to post some pictures ...  ;D

You might want to try a cloud service. Most of them give you 1 or 2 GB free space without charge. I use dropbox for instance. You can also get free or low cost webspace these days, where you just upload your pics via FTP client. That is what I do with my photos.

Hi.  I had a few blatantly honest email chats with Photobucket rep. after first going through Robot Bob.  Took a few tries and their engineers fixed whatever the problems were for me... well mostly.  Still way too many advertisements but I think it is worth the $15 yearly for the no ad upgrade.  Recently joined imgur and while their downloads are much quicker... I like the photo editing/re-sizing options on PB much better.

Hey, Zren. They have no plans to do so.  It's a convention-exclusive design, and they confirmed to me in person at the Salt Lake FanX convention last month that they have no plans to make it available through the online store.

Ya they told me the same thing. They sounded like it's not going to happen. I had plans to buy it there at the convention, but I just didn't feel the bond.

I might have to wrangle one of you lovely people into getting me one at one of next year's cons if they are still doing them. Unless they plan on coming over here :p

Yep.  This exactly ^^.

Sabers without sound have latching switches.  They "click" on or off.

Sabers with sound require MOMENTARY switches. They only have one action.  The soundboard would regulate the ignition at that point. :)

And now you know.  And knowledge is power. :P

You spend a minimum of $250. When the raffle begins they have a page on the Ultrasabers front store page that explains the instructions to enter. Basically you type in the raffle like ( spring raffle ) in the coupon code spot. Then put your user name in the comments field at checkout. Then your entered, you sit tight after that and see if you win anything.

Note that there is no raffle going on currently; their 15% May the 4th-14th promo is about as high a discount as I have seen, though.
