Nice saber and review. I think the Malice is appropriately named, given its appearance.

I'll be honest, I have been growing on the Malice as of late. I did tell myself that the Archon V3.1 I just ordered would be my last this year, I may be kidding myself now. Thanks. -1.

How much do the "claws" throw off the balance? I was thinking about getting one but have been torn over large or small claws.

To be honest, I haven't really noticed. It feels top heavy when you spin it but as I only did it once, I can't give an accurate answer haha

More research is needed, and I appoint you to the task.

Was thinking of maybe using the malice emitter with my Dark Mantis, but I don't think it will work too well..Great review and saber!

It's a nice concept, but did you get the Mantis emitter with or without claws?

If with, you've probably noticed that the claws don't sit evenly along the symmetry line of the saber. I fear you would have a similar issue with a Malice emitter.

However, if you properly shimmed the emitter threads to stop at the desired position, the results would look phenomenal. So good luck.

I got both the emitter with and without claws and yes I know what you mean, it drives me crazy sometimes, because they line up ALMOST symmetrical. Thinking of using Reaper emitter (with Dark Mantis neck shroud), but I may run into the same problem. I don't have all the metalshop tools I'd like to have at the moment.

Yeah, I thought about trying to tweak my collar so that the emitter seats at the right level, but that could prove costly if screwed up.

There are pics out there of proto curved Reapers. Personally the design did nothing, but that's just me.

If anything, it'll give me ideas for PVC pipe emitters. Or some kind of solid plastic or more durable material; I've noticed a neighbor of mine has a woodshop in his garage, maybe he has a lathe too \o/

Does anyone know if anyone has customized a Malice?

Customized how?

Either weathered, leather wrapped, etched, cracked etc?

I haven't seen it, but I know someone that is equal to the task if you're looking to hire it out.
