Title: Mystery Box Sabers now Available Online
Post by: Deep on July 18, 2017, 05:49:11 AM
The new Mystery Box has been made extremely popular at conventions and has now made its way to our online store. If you purchase the $75 Mystery Box then you are guaranteed to get a saber that retails for $75 or more. If you purchase the $200 Mystery Box then you are guaranteed to get a saber that retails for $200 or more. With the $75 you have a chance to win a Stunt Saber (No Sound), a saber with Premium Sound, a saber with Lite Sound, a saber with the Emerald Driver + Premium Sound, a saber with Diamond Controller, and more! With the $200 you are GUARANTEED to get a saber with sound (no stunt sabers); so you have a chance to win a saber with Premium Sound, a saber with Lite Sound, a saber with the Emerald Driver + Premium Sound, a saber with Diamond Controller, and more!

The electronics on all Mystery Boxes are fully covered under warranty. Mystery box sabers may come with some minor cosmetic damage to the hilt. If you are fortunate enough to win a saber with Premium Sound, a saber with the Emerald Driver + Premium Sound, or a saber with Diamond Controller then your saber will NOT come with a charger. You will need to purchase that separately. All Mystery Box Sabers come with the blade retention screw wrench. The hilt models for all Mystery Box Types are completely random. There is no way to select a particular hilt type or blade color for Mystery Box purchases. Dissatisfaction with hilt types or blade colors are not a valid reason for return on Mystery Box purchases. Please enjoy the thrill of purchasing a Mystery Box responsibly.

Man this is going to be awesome. I'm going to order one of each on Thursday and that will get me a entry for the raffle. Thanks Emory

SWEET!!!

This is awesome, so much more affordable to me than buying a whole saber (which I will still be doing), but this gives me the opportunity to give somebody a potentially amazing gift for a little bit less than normal (hopefully). Once again, you guys are the absolute best, and my business will always be with you. Thanks so much UltraSabers.

I love the Grab-Bags, and I love this. I will be getting one of each very soon. Christmas in July!!!

This is probably the most exciting thing you guys have done recently, for me anyway.  I love mystery boxes.  I've bought a few hilts in grab bags over the past year or so, so you know I'm willing to roll the dice.  The $200 box is a bit much for me personally to spend on a gamble, but I'm willing to pay $75 for the shot at something really awesome.  (of course, it's an UltraSaber, so it will likely be awesome anyway)

I also like that you can pick your blade length and thickness with this.  One thing I don't like about the grab bags is that you can't get a shorter blade, it has to be a 36" or no blade.  (my last two were no blade)

Considering how popular the Grab Bag option is, this is a great idea.  Can't wait to see what people get!

Damn you. lol. I just received my first Diamond saber yesterday and I love it. It was suppose to be the last saber I buy this year. That is looking to be more and more of a lie to myself. lol.

Also. Does this mean that Grab Bags are now a thing of the past?

I'm new and I've purchased 8 sabers thus far, 2 of them grab bags.
I'm so eagerly awaiting my 2nd grab bag but imagine how super excited I'd be for a premium level mystery box. This is a fabulous value and exactly what I was hoping for.

Hope folks can post what they're receiving here so we can get an idea of what's being delivered.

The website is still selling the grab bag along with the mystery boxes right now so looks like they are still on play.

So, the 75$ mystery really could have sound as well?

If I order enough mystery boxes, each has a chance of sound, and it puts me in the running in the raffle?  :D

Ideas for a mystery saber or random saber have been talked about on the forum before with positive responses, it's nice to see US noticing and creating the mystery box options.  I'm pretty excited about these myself and would love to pick up a couple sometime.

So who gets to check the saber out to make sure it is working properly ?!  ;)   Probably should remove the batteries if not in use for many months.  :)

One question regarding mystery box / grab bag for those who have purchased in the past (or if US can chime in)
I actually was looking to grab a basic saber for the kiddies as well so this works great

US said they guarantee the value of the saber you get randomly will be greater than cost of the mystery box / grab bag
Is this in reference to built value or the list value?

EG
If I go click on stunt sabers (assume worst case and did not get one with sound)
If I bought a mystery box saber must be worth greater than $75
So as an example, could it be possible to get Apprentice LE V4 ($65) with a built in charge port (+$35)

Or is it only possible to get a saber that starts at $75+ (EG Dark Standerd Issue V3)

Do US usually include extras (recharge ports / li-ion upgrades / windows in emitters) or would they be more basic?

PS wish me luck, I am hoping to get Scorpion, Manticore, or Electrum :)

That's a very good point. I'll have some one take them out for storage. Thanks. That's all relying on me not breaking down and just opening it ahead of time!

Retail value - so complete purchase price of a built saber.

So to use the cheapest saber for an example:

Initiate V2 (Guardian blue) - $54.99
Blade wrench - $1.00
Av switch - $15.00
Upgrade to a full size blade - $10

You're already at $80.99 which is over $75

And for the $200 boxes they start much the same way

Apprentice V4 (Guardian blue) with lite sound $159.99
Blade wrench - $1.00
Upgrade to full size blade - $10
Add windows - $5
Av switch - $15
Covertech wheel - $14

$204.99

The sweet deal on those $200 boxes though is that you're guaranteed sound no matter the hilt! That's a really cool incentive I think :)

ANY of the Initiate and Apprentice series sabers would easily fall into those price ranges, which is actually really cool for those of us (like me) who seem to prefer those lower end hilts. So it's any saber from the US lineup that could be in your box. As for hoping for certain hilts I feel I need to stress what Emory says in the video in his original post - if you want a specific hilt - order that hilt.

Can folks who have scored a box at a convention share what treasure they received, please? I did a forum search and it only turned up 3 people who posted theirs. There's gotta be more forum members who have bought them over the years.

I got a $75 box at a con this year. My sabers was a Dark Sentinel LE V4 with Blazing Red LED, Emitter with windows, and a black AV switch.

So I'm total a $95 value for $75.

Here it is (with a different blade than what came with it).

Does anybody know if there is even very good odds of getting sound in the 75$ option. I know it is completely random, and I know that US is usually pretty good at giving everybody a fair chance, but my sister only wants a saber with sound and if she were to buy one of the 75$ ones would it be about a 50-50 chance of getting sound at the least, or what? I doubt anybody can give me a good answer on this, but if you have somewhat of an idea, that would be better than none, because I really don't like seeing people disappointed. I guess what I am asking is more of out of the people who have already bought the 75$ Mystery Box, how many of you have gotten sound, and how many haven't? I personally don't care, but I know my sister would definitely prefer sound. If anyone is willing to share whether they have gotten sound or not, please do. If not, no hard feelings. It is completely understandable. And if this post goes against anything US has said, please feel free to ignore it, or report it to a moderator. Thanks guys.

I have never done a mystery box, so I'm not an expert on these odds, but here are my thoughts. If your sister only/definitely wants a saber with sound, go for the $200 option (a "better be safe than sorry" option). Of course, you could order 2-3 mystery boxes for a similar price and increase your chances of getting a saber with sound and get a couple extra sabers in the process.

3 x $75=$225 vs. $200, or if you were planning on getting a mystery box saber yourself anyways, 4 x $75=$300 vs. $275.

In the end, it's your choice of whether you want to roll that dice. My best guess is that it's not likely a 50-50 chance, but maybe more along the lines of a 1:4 chance. Of course, this is all conjecture, just like the raffles. I've heard the chances of winning in a raffle are 1:3 or 1:4, but again, that's what people's thoughts have been based on their experiences.

Good luck!

Don't tell me the odds ;)

Deep's video seems pretty clear that the US staff themselves won't know how many are in there - the builders are separate from the packers are separate from the shippers. SWF is right, though; If sound is important, go for the $200 order.

And I've started a Mystery Box thread over in the gallery section - http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=35364 :)

Pure speculation on odds here
It seems to me getting a premium sound on $75 option is pretty rare (think like the grand prizes for raffles odds they usually run)

Same way on $200 sabers I expect most to be Obsidian Lite, with very few Diamonds

I've already ordered one of each, just had to jump on that deal as fast as I could. So I'm hoping to get something truly spectacular in at least one of them. I have heard of at least one person opening one of the $75 mystery boxes and getting a saber that was worth more than $250. Depending on how it all goes I may be purchasing another one of them very soon. Can't wait till they are delivered.

I bought one at a con and got no sound. In fact I didn't see anybody keen one with sound while I was around the booth but it's not like I was hanging around just watching people open boxes either. There is one guy on who that stated he got sound from a $75 box. But if you want sound 100% you have to let the $200 box.

The $200 box is an amazing deal if you get Obsidian (even better with Emerald or Diamond if you get lucky)

I am hoping most of the Obsidian Lite's are the grand prizes for $75 boxes (I *really* want Li-Ion setup, and if I score a charge port too then wow)

Well, I just ordered 3 mystery boxes and a quick coupler to get in on the raffle, and then I saw that I just squeaked into a new video review rewards program. Since I did one in the 3rd, now I'll be in the 4th! Now, if I find that all 3 of my mysteries have emerald, and I win the diamond prize, I'll be set!  ;D  :D ;D  :D ;D  :D ;D  ;) ;D  ::) ;D  8) ;D ;D

Oh, I've been out of it for a while, so I might be getting delusions of grandeur.

No, you should be fine (assuming you put in the ticket/your name). Early raffle orders often get sent out to keep space free in the US workshop, and there's 3 weeks to go in the raffle yet. I would guess, too, that as the mystery boxes are pre-prepped, they're easier to shop out.

I have mine shipped FedEx ground, and dropped at the FedEx store that is practically across the street from home to avoid this.
That, and for me, FedEx Ground is actually the cheaper option

I used to have to wait, now I just find the mail truck in my area. Asking your local post office where they might be at a certain time may help like it did for me.

I just got my $200 Mystery Grab Bag Obsidian Lite, very Happy.

But I never liked the bottom claw so I traded it out for a Manticore Low profile Pommel.

Dude. Sweet. Congrats. Point.

So far an Aeon V4 stunt, your Obsidian Lite Reaper and a stunt Reaper have accounted for.

I've never considered a reaper 'til now that it may be in the mix of 3 I ordered. I wouldn't fear the reaper...getting one, I mean, when the time has come that I take that baby in my hand.

These things naturally settle themselves down after a while, and each thread is in a separate section, which I imagine makes merging harder. It will almost certainly end up, in a week or so, with the announcement thread getting the occasional bump, reviews being posted individually and most stuff being posted in the gallery thread.

This seems like a really neat thing.

I'll pretty much just be wanting empties now myself, but it seems like a great way to score a bonus saber. :)

Hello all,
I ordered my 200$ mystery box on monday, got shipping notification today(tues), and tracking says it will be delivered tomorrow, I had been saving to actually put a different sound board in my apprentice LE v4 stunt saber and change my LED to a red/green/royal blue tri rebel, but when I saw this I decided to go for it. I have only ever bought US sabers, my apprentice LE v4 in tri CG, and my dark apprentice v4 in blazing red. I purchased an ESD safe soldering iron and some tools as I will at some point convert all my sabers to sound, just because I want to learn how to do it lol, but that is only if I don't loose my head about these mystery boxes and start spending all my money on them haha. I am super exited and can't wait till tomorrow!!!! Cant even sleep, tonight and tomorrow are gonna drag on till its delivered. I will post pics when it gets here, I am hoping for something with FOC, don't really care if it is lite sound, actually I don't have sound at all right now, so I am super excited anyway lololol!!! May the force be with me.

My mystery box arrived, 200$ mystery box. I got an initiate LE v4 with Lite Sound, FoC which I think is silver but kind of comes out really light pinkish white, silver non illuminated av switch, blazing red. I am quite happy with it. I ordered a 36 inch ultra edge heavy grade with it, but did not like that length, I am very particular about the balance of my sabers being as close to the emitter as possible, and even after connecting my 4 inch MHS extension the balance was still about 4 inches up the blade. Not a problem tubing cutters and some glue to regale the film and bam, 32 inch blade with perfect balance, also since the speaker will not fit through the extension( without voiding warranty on electronics and unsoldering them, I just put the extension on the end, its awesome!!!! That 4 inches of empty space creates a nice resonance chamber which makes the already loud obsidian lite board even louder. I may switch the LED at a later time once I am confident that there are no defects in the electronics(as to not void warrant yet), so that I can create an amethyst color with a r/g/rb, Tri rebel and resistoring the red quite a bit and lightly resistoring the blue, and using the green to fire off with the other two for FoC. I will need to understand how the FoC is set up on these boards though, it was one of the biggest things I wanted. I am quite pleased got a 224.99 value for 200 not too shabby. I will probably try my luck with a 75$ mystery box soon. One of the best things about this is the suspense, the excitement, the anticipation(making it great, lol) I felt like a kid on christmas morn, what a great feeling!!! Another thing that is great about this is that they are already boxed, thus there is no real lead time, I ordered monday night and received it today, of course I am just 5 hours north of ultra sabers, in DFW, but still my other sabers took 5 days total each time, not that that is in anyway a problem either, there is literally no where else you can get a saber at affordable cost, and get it so quickly. US rocks!!! Will post pics soon, right now I want to play LOL.

Can always get a Manticore high pommel, Overlord pommel, Shock LE pommel, or Raven plain pommel. Just an idea =] I think a Shock LE pommel would look best to me though to match the rest of the hilt

Do you mean to offset the weight? That is a good Idea, but I think I actually like the 32 inch blades best, they are closer to the length of a Ninja-To like I have trained with, and the swords I used in Wushu, I will probably stick with 32 inch blades in the future, although I may just get some 24 inch blades for Jar Kai, 32 is a bit long for the Escrima drills I do, but 24 is pretty good, another thought I had was to trim down my two stunt saber blades to about 28 or so, cause when I connect them for a staff it is just a bit too long and I keep hitting the ground when I go into butterfly kicks and b spins.

So, the 75$ mystery really could have sound as well?

If I order enough mystery boxes, each has a chance of sound, and it puts me in the running in the raffle?  :D

My 75 dollar mystery box turned out to be a archon v2.1 with a v4 obsidian sound board and in blazing red.  About a 270 dollar value for 75 dollars.  I feel like I won the raffle already!

I would be lying if I said that there was only one that I didn't like but that's the only one that I would really really dislike. I love blind grab things even though it's such a Gamble so I'm still trying to decide if I want to do this or go in a few extra bucks for something I know I want and make it in time for the raffle

I agree totally on the 32" blades, especially on stunts.  Though I've noticed that my Aeon V4 is pretty well balanced with a 36" blade, with its electronics and an Archon pommel.  Its my "go to" saber and I just love it.  :-)  I know there are tons of great sabers here but if I had my true wish in a Mystery Box it would be another Aeon (or Dominix) V4 with sound installed...

What can I say?  I'm pretty easy to please!  LOL Though if it turned out to be a Graflex with Diamond card I wouldn't cry....

I actually would like them to be offered say for a month or so a few times a year instead of ongoing.  Would make it something of a fun event... akin to the raffle.

Best of The Force luck with your MB orders and for the raffle. :)

One of my last emails from US said grab your mystery box now before they run out. I think it said something like "they are going fast" like they had a set number. But other than that no other info. If you email them and ask I'm sure you will very an answer that will help.

I had been thinking about getting a lightsaber for quite a while, but just couldn't convince myself that I would use it once I got it. When the "Mystery Box Sabers" became available, my wife really pushed me to get one, so I did. Surprisingly, once I got it, I find myself playing with it every day! I got the $200.00 version and am very happy with the selection received. It has a red blade color, which I would not have picked, but I have gotten used to it now and probably will end up getting the lightsaber that I REALLY want and giving the red one to my wife. This was a good purchase and I do not regret getting it! If you are on the fence about getting a lightsaber, then the "Mystery Box" option is a great way to get a decent selection that will make you glad that you purchased one for yourself.

So......what saber did you get?  What features came in your $200.00 box?  For example, did it come with Flash On Clash?  The devil is in the detail and you know we are all dying to know what all you got in this box.  I think this was an excellent choice to go with for a being your first lightsaber.  Back when I was first getting into Ultrasabers I went with the grab bag option and became addicted ever since.  Have fun with your new purchase!

Not really sure although it is part of the permanent saber choices on the US ordering site.  The higher end and loaded sound sabers that have been given out in abundance within the $75 mystery box cannot continue indefinitely.  So now is likely the best time to place your order if interested and able.  :)

I think it is, but I also remember getting an email one saying something like "order now they are going fast". But maybe that's on my head LOL.

I think it is permanent but just like so the sabers at some point it could be out of stock.

Tomorrow (Monday) can't come quick enough, got a brace of $200 Mystery Boxes arriving. That will double our collection. We are also waiting for our order of a $75 & a $200 Mystery Box to be processed, so that should arrive across the pond the following week.

That will take our collection up to 6 Lightsabers from US, I think they've got our household on the hook & line now lol.

But now I can see a project coming over the horizon, display! I'm sure it'll be fun, probably better waiting to see what hilts we get before lunging in. I did see some great free standing and wall mounted stands on Etsy from Canada but unfortunately they don't ship over here. But it has given me some good ideas.

Will post tomorrow on what arrives, honestly can not wait lol.

I hate that photobucket is charging so much to host pictures, so anybody know a free option?

I can't recommend imgur enough. It was originally created by an undergraduate as a gift to Reddit in part to avoid the exact thing that photo bucket are up to. Simple, free, and easy to use.

No sign of that postman? I know that mine is a wee bit behind yours so when yours comes it that means mine isn't too far away. In the meantime I'm living vicariously through you!

So chop chop Foilfencer's postie! Unless you're starting in the north and working your way down to Foilfencer. I'd be ok with that.

(In which case sorry not sorry FF!! ;))

The postman did indeed arrive yesterday with my Mystery Lightsabers.
So this was the 2 X $200 package and it turned out to be a pretty sweet duelling pair. The hilts are a Dark Apprentice LE V4 & a Dark Sentinel LE V4.
Both have Obsidian sound and non-illuminated black switches. The Apprentice has the standard battery set up and it's blade colour is Adegan Silver with Blazing Red flash on clash. The Sentinel came with the rechargeable battery set up and a Fire Orange blade colour.
I'm pretty happy with them daughters not impressed with getting "black dark side hilts" lol.
So I'll attempt to get a Pic up on the Mystery Box Gallery thread, think I've worked out how to do it on my IPad, but could be wrong.

I also got the news my next lot has shipped and should be here on Friday, damn why is this still only Tuesday...

w00t, my package just came in!!!!
I scored a Dark Sentinel LE V4 (No emitter windows) with an Adegen Silver blade and Non illuminated AV switch in black. No sound.  I am pretty pleased with what I got, the color of the blade is the only thing I am meh about.  Wish it came red.  I guess I have to score some color discs to change that though!

With so many Apprentices coming out of Mystery Boxes lately, I'm tempted to put one in the cart and see if I get lucky and snag one.  ;)  Of course, there have also been a lot of Aeon V4s and Sentinels, and I already have plenty of Aeons, Dominixes and Sentinels.  So, I'd probably wind up with another and a deep wish that I had just ordered an Apprentice.  ;)

Darth FedEx arrived yesterday. Got me a surprise Graflex! (see the gallery thread http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=35584.msg574609#msg574609). I'm over the moon! I'm sure I'm dreaming.

I'm about to make an embarrassing confession here...I always though Fife was a wee bit further south than that which led to the assumption that we were all automatically a bit north of you. In actual fact I'm now west of you. Sunny Ayrshire to be exact.

My first $75 Mystery Box is on the Fedex truck for delivery.  I just ordered it on Tuesday night and it's already being delivered to Canada today!  My 9 year old son and I are planning on doing an unboxing video when I get home after work (he aspires to be a YouTube star, so it should be fairly entertaining, lol).

I think I have a lightsaber addiction - This is so much fun, who could of known, it's better than getting a present and you have no idea what's inside. Rather buy a mystery box than a lotto ticket. Good luck to all that are buying mystery boxes.

2 Sentinels with lite sound  :(

That's still not enough information to work from. It's not about the base price of a hilt, it's about the price of the entire build. The retail price of a SABER, not a hilt.

Did they have AV switches? Flash on Clash? Windows? LE or standard versions? Are they Tri-cree LEDs or single?

And I highly doubt both of them had NO pommel. I think you mean they have standard open ended pommels, yes?

Title: Re: Mystery Box Sabers now Available Online

You are correct on the pommels. They are open, my mistake.
LE v4, AV switch &  windows from the options you mentioned . I honestly think I received 2 $75 boxes.(http://i64.tinypic.com/2cz97nq.jpg)

So when you hit the sabers, or press the button while on, they don't flash or flicker? Can you take a photo of the LED unit (with the saber off) so we can see if it's single or tri? Do you still have the paper they were in that had the specs written on them?

As it stands with the info you've given me so far and what I can see in the pictures these two Sentinel LEs are sitting at $195.99 each. Which is why I think they may be tri-cree or have flash on clash. I think you're just missing the info on that one thing that sends them over the $200 mark.

Nothing wrong with the Sentinels, they're nice sabers to have and make great dueling/cosplay sabers too. The two twins looks nice I think. At least you got some kind of sound and later on can always send them in for premium sound and add anything extra you might want. I think a Consular Green Sentinel LE would look nice actually

No sharpie writing on those packets to say what was inside? Logos may be right about them being Sunrider's Destiny and not Green because that LED does look like an RGBW setup.

If you could take a photo of the light rings you get when shining the saber on the wall, or even just look at the light rings yourself. You should see green and blue rings, not just green, if it's SRD. Also a photo in a blade would help show the color more accurately.

And did you see if they have flash on clash?

Either way with SRD and or FOC they are definitely over $200 each.

This is my go-to for cons because when I get photo-ops with "normals" I split it (quick-connect coupler not shown), keep one half in red, and let them have the other in either blue or purple.

I kinda know what you felt when you saw the same hilt...I also got the the same hilt from the two mystery boxes that I got from Ultrasabers....the only difference is that I got the $75 and $200 same hilt. I mean there are at least 50 hilts from ultrasabers and the chances of you getting the same hilt is not a good thing. Well, I think they did that on purpose so that you can/WILL buy their coupler. :(

You'll kick yourself when you find out how simple it is.

1) Lay a blade in the area of the robe you wish to mount the pocket.
2) Cut a patch approx. 3" x 6" for the pocket, sew it to the hem of the robe with slight amount of slack. (3 sides only, open at top)
3) Insert blade to align top strap.
4) Cut 1" x 3" strip and sew towards the top 1/3 of the blade.

With the minimal amount of stitching, the mods will not be very apparent on the robe exterior.

It really is a nice option to have,TR.  And the pocket is really innocuous; when some people I met at the Palm Springs con saw me attach my blade, they couldn't believe that I'd hid a 36" UE, much less that it never once got in the way  :)

Sentinel is another of those understated sabers. It isn't flashy but it's incredibly comfortable to work with. You will enjoy it as well  ;D

Hi all, new here. Was curious about these mystery boxes. Does anyone have an idea of the chances to get a blade with sound? All I have is a Hasbro for now but am really interested in learning how to use a "battle" or stunt saber with the saber guild that practices near me. Is it assumed that everyone here thinks they are worth it? Thanks for your opinions.

Welcome. If you buy one of the 200$ Mystery Boxes, you are guaranteed sound. If you buy a 75$ Mystery Box, you have a chance for sound, but it is completely random, so you may or may not get sound. Although lately, it seems more common not to get sound from a 75$ Box.

If you buy the $75 version, plan on not getting sound, that way you won't be disappointed.
If you REALLY want to make sure you get sound, go fo the $200 version

Ihanks for the suggestion. I think I will and trim the blades. I got caught up in the reads about what people were receiving. Sorry to you all for the rant.
It happens. Yes depending on your height, I recommend trimming blades. 36s don't work so well unless you're like 7' tall. I'm 6'1", AND 32s work very well for me.

Exactly what I had planned actually. I just haven't decided to do it yet. I also don't wear my cloak that often, so I haven't really needed to yet.
I actually had this innovation during the initial construction of the cosplay, back when I figured I'd only be swinging one blade.

If you buy the $75 version, plan on not getting sound, that way you won't be disappointed.
If you REALLY want to make sure you get sound, go fo the $200 version
Or just micromanage the whole process and buy exactly what you want. ::) :P

Exactly.  I'm going to be ordering one soon.  My view is, I'm happy with anything I get, I LIKE stunts, and if I happen to pull something with Obsidian Lite or a premium hilt, that's just a bonus.  :-)  I just can't decide if I want another Aeon, a Dominix, a Sentinel or Apprentice or Initiate.  So  ...  MYSTERY BOX!

Uh huh? The only times I ever got something different than what I expected from my order were:

1) SY is wasn't 100% R+G, so that was a little bit of a let down.

2) and when I ordered my Bellicose, it showed up with a Beta V4 unexpectedly. ;D (#WINN)

Beta as in they were still testing them, before their official release. I would say they became available about 1.5 years ago.

Ah, ok.  Oh well, I was thinking they were upgrading the existing Bellicose.  I like the look of the hilt but I always found it to be a little thick for superior handling.  The Aeon and Sentinels are far superior in actual handling.

Nope, standard Belli, V4 Obsidian.

Um...  Hands are actually quite big.  I just much prefer the size of the Aeon and Sentinel's choke points.  :-)  I could handle the Bellicose just fine, but it never felt secure.  Had the same problem with the Guardian.

I feel you. I thought the Scorp was perfectly sized for my grip, but I opt for a thinner hilt in a gloved hand. Plus the weight of the Scorp is a liability.

What about balance, providing a counter weight to a lengthy hilt such as with the Scorpion or the Mantis? I find that it kind of does on mine. Not sure if that would hold true for the SS Raven, but then the claws on that could really serve as weapons if your saber was damaged and that was your only weapon.

Actually, intimidation isn't always sinister.  If the fearsome look of my weapon precludes combat, then it has served to both bring about the desired end AND preserve live.

How is that sinister?

:-)

The weapon is not evil - only the one who wields it.

If you have to go through all the new BS in order to get a crystal to obey a dark sider's will, then the weapon is most certainly to blame.

First, whatever.
Second, any time you "intimidate" you are influencing someone's fear. Fear is the instinct of self-preservation.

Hahaha well said. YOU BETTER DO A VIDEO! We always wanna see! What is exciting, yet sad, is that I played in a band for years. Recorded videos for youtube and received a few hundred views.... I posted my unboxing video less than a month ago and have almost 1.7K views and 44 comments. gaining over a hundred views a day. Its crazy! I didn't even post it to my social media either. Hi.  You have made x3 posts.  The first was to acknowledge the Forum Rules and the other two to complain about US. The 1st similar one will be deleted.  You chose to make an order at the busiest time of the year and like many others are having to take your turn at waiting for the saber(s) to arrive.  No amount of discontent is going to make them magically appear.

I have to remind you that this is the Forum and we are not connected to the business side of Ultrasabers.  Can't promise that your parcel will be delivered soon... but it will be worth the waiting period.  Many other saber companies routinely take months to half a year or more for a wait period with minimal to no correspondence.

Personally I'd rather have US time be focused on creating/building the sabers that we get excited and sometimes anxious about receiving... sooner than later.  It doesn't matter how many sabers are in our collection... we all have to practice Jedi patience with every order.  ;)

MTFBWY  :)

I ordered a Mystery Box on 2/10/18 and received it on 2/17/18, I was happy that it didn't take too long to process and ship! I picked the 75$ edition and received a Sentinel V4 (Silver) [W] Blazing Red Stunt Saber. I was very happy with what I got from it and didn't mind the "cosmetic imperfections" which in this case were just barely-visible scratches that could easily be normal wear-and-tear. I noticed later that the hilt had a charging port on it, which was awesome for the price I paid. Not sure what I can do with the charging port (the hilt I got came with the standard battery setup) but it's really cool to see how much value comes in these Mystery Boxes. It's really awesome to be able to forfeit being able to choose to instead receive great value, I like the surprise and variety you can get with a Mystery Box. Never change them, please, they're awesome! To anyone nervous about getting a Mystery Box because it seems risky or you don't know what you're going to get, I can assure you you're in good hands and whoever picks these Mystery Box sabers has good taste  ;)

Hi CWD.  Glad to read that you are liking your MB Sentinel.  Silver and red is a striking combination.  I pretty much like any saber that has a red blade.  Most of my sabers that are not specifically ordered have come with green and blue LED's or blade colors.  The recharge port likely is not connected as your saber uses regular batteries.

Here's your first Forum appreciation point.  Have given you light side but let us know if you prefer the dark side.  :)

Buy something else to keep your mind busy until your saber arrives 😀 or take a stick and train your spinning skills to be ready.

Smile, life is to short to get pissed at a parcel not arriving (except maybe your new heart for transplant is in the parcel 😉)

Agreed!

Patience is the key here!

While I waited for my MB Dark Arbiter to arrive, I started watching tutorials on spinning, did some pushups and planks and kept myself occupied with other things.

I was aware of the delays, but with TLJ released, the flood of orders and the raffle from Fall, then Xmas right after, then the crazy weather events that were happening were just things that US had to overcome.

In this era of instant gratification, there are some things in life that are worth waiting for, and my US saber is one of them.

My saber was ordered 12/27/17 and I received it on 1/21/18, so I am not complaining and I loooooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeeee my Dark Arbiter!

The first time you ignite your saber, everything else (the wait, delays, ect) become meaningless.

We all know how frustrating waiting can be. No one wants to wait, that's just the way it is. But trust me, this will be worth the wait. I had an awesome saber with my first mystery box. It was a dominix LE V4. It has Windows ,Advanced AV switch and a recharge port. It came in Consular green and I cannot be happier. Just be patient and when it arrives you'll forget all about being upset about the wait time. In the meantime, you can plan your next to saber purchase.

Arrived today, 2 mystery box sabers, less than 5 days from order to delivery. No complaints, excellent as always thank you US!

Can anyone tell me what this is? Saber does not have sound, and is running off of normal AAs... so Im not sure what the port is for.

That's a recharge port, but it is likely not hooked up to anything.  I think that US had several hilts with the ports installed that became "surplus" and they loaded them out as stunts.

The hilt is an Initiate V4 and it looks like it also has windows and an AV switch.  Nice grab!

Thank you for the info, it was a curiosity.

Very happy with the variety of sabers I have gotten, in 4 different Mystery Box sabers I haven't gotten a single double. Now all my kids have their own.

Now if the angled boxes for the emperor's hand would come back in stock, or I could get matching SRD crossguards for the flamberge Id have one too! :D

Edit: because my SRD question got answered on another post!

LOL

On the SRD cross-guard - if you go with silver and color disks, make sure you get a couple extra sets of disks so you have enough to make matching filters on all three lights.  :-)

Nice grab. I'm waiting for the emperor's hand with the angled switch myself. In the meantime, I think I'm going to pick up a guardian. Question is, do I go with the original issue or do I go with a nickel-plated version. And which blade color  would you recommend? I was thinking a green one perhaps Riders destiny or the dark blue one Guardian blue?

Nickle and in Guardian Blue =] Would look sweet together I think. Imagine the blue shining off the nickle plating :P Kind f how like I want a Manticore set up. Would just loo pretty together I think

@Malik....I vote for the Sunrider Destiny!  I have yet to see this color on this particular hilt and think it would look awesome with this color.  As far as finishes, I believe either will do fine it is really up to you if you want to spend the extra $35 for the nickel.  I have a Guardian, but my blade color is, of course, Blazing Red...nice and sithy!

Got tracking today, with estimated delivery 5/17. Guess they needed to make more stock for the mystery boxes. Very glad they do this so I have a chance to get a saber I normally would be reticent to buy otherwise.

Thank you for this service.

Placed my order for one early yesterday afternoon.

I'm looking forward to seeing what I get.

I guess it'll take a week or so to get here. Can't wait!

I was thinking with the sale and all and so many getting a MB on their order, the stock had to be replenished and that may make the selections more interesting.

Everyone hopes for one with sound, but in my special fantasy world, I would receive a Prophecy with Lite sound and GB blade color with Silver A/V switch. FOC would be cool too.

That would be ultimately perfect, but I'm open to whatever.

Until my MB arrives, I'll just play around with my first MB that I received in January, which was a Dark Arbiter with a CG blade.

I love that hilt!

Received mine yesterday, but power was out so I couldn't post what I received till today.

Initiate LE v4 stunt saber in Arctic Blue. It does have an latching antivandal switch (unlighted). I may try to mod it, but I first probably will experiment on the empty hilt Initiate LE v4 I've used for hilt cover testing.

I only have one US right now; an Initiate v4 CG with Obsidian v4 - I love it! Just bought 2 mystery boxes and an empty hilt and entered in the raffle. Damn this is already addicting!!

Title: Re: Mystery Box Sabers now Available Online

A grab bag and a mystery arrived (couldn't justify the price with import tax to enter the raffle):
GB is an windowed Initiate V4 in blue and the MB is a windowed Dark Apprentice LE V4 in fire orange with lite sound! Fire orange looks fantastic with a non-ultra edge blade too!
I haven't been able to make up my mind on a specific hilt but these have helped me narrow it down!

I ordered 3 $75 mystery boxes for the raffle, and they finally came!

I only had one saber so I wanted to enter the raffle, but didn't want to go full in on $250+ for one saber when I didn't know what I liked/disliked yet. I'm extremely happy with what I got, as I've gotten sound of some sort on 2/4 lightsabers from the $75 boxes, so two of the 4 were easily worth 200 dollars a piece! The only thing I would want to change on the stunt sabers is that I feel they look a bit plain without windows in the emitters. Luckily my grandpa is a metal worker so if I really want to make changes, I can probably gut them and ask him to do something with them. I also won a 4th place grab bag saber in the raffle, so I'm very very pleased.

From top to bottom.

Initiate LE V4 AV in AB (raffle entry)
Dark Liberator AV with Lite sound in Red (raffle entry)
Aeon V3 AV with Premium sound in Green (first mystery box)
Apprentice LE AV in Red (raffle entry)

Super excited to grow my collection, the stunts are prefect for doing some customization that I'd be too scared to try on a more expensive saber and the two sabers with sound paid for my order and then some in value. Gotten very lucky thus far.  ;D
