Title: Star Wars Figures
Post by: Edon Bluewolf on September 30, 2017, 04:56:09 AM
So what Star Wars figure is next for your collection?  I think I just found what is going to be on my Xmas list:

Any one got one that could give me a quick review?

I've seen these before and the realism is really just incredible. We're so lucky to have something like this. Who could've imagined back in the 70s/80s and even the 90s that such quality in these character replicas was coming. Something every true fan can really appreciate.

Yeah, I would love to have all of these.   :o

That is BB-9E.  It is a First Order BB Unit that seems will be a foil for BB-8.  They introduced it in the current Phasma comic.

I still have yet to get a BB-8 droid of my own. I'm thinking of asking for (getting) a remote control one for Christmas, maybe both BB-9E and BB-8 - it would drive my dogs crazy! I do want to get some Hot Toys one sixth scale droids, too. The list is getting longer by the minute.

Made this happen! My first Sideshow Collectible arrived! - Darth Vader (ROTJ) - and it IS the Dark Lord of the Sith himself. So so impressed.  Can't wait for more to come. I picked up an IKEA DETOLF display case with an overhead LED - it turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for...

Sweet display. I love that it is lit.
Thanks! The lighting I have in there now is actually going to be a temporary solution. I will be replacing that single LED with FlexFire UltraBright High CRI (93+) Series LEDs, which come as close to natural light as you can get and will let the true color come through on all the collectibles rather than washing out the color like most LEDs do.

Not Black Series but close enough =] Target literally had two of these sets left so had to get me one while they were on clearance. Might actually leave this one in its package. Target seems to be the go to place for Star Wars figures still, our wal mart has a super low selection as of now x.x Even Target still has a few Last Jedi Kylos left. But if I can get me a Vader and another Guard alone for this set at least then that'd be cool =]

These are the Hot Toys ROTS Anakin that came out earlier this year and ROTJ Luke that came out last month.  Both have been on pre-order since last year.  ROTS Obi-Wan is due out next year..... no Old Obi-Wan yet.

Everything that company makes is just insane. I can't imagine modding one of those considering the cost, but that sounds like a cool idea.

Yea, I've seen people do all kinds of crazy mods with Hot toys...but for this it would be just a wardrobe change.  Many sellers on Ebay sell pieces of other figures, simple to find a Jedi robe set and utility belt.  its the lightsaber that might have to be custom.

Already got the head, body is next then outfit.   I've seen some others make 1/6 scale Mara's using Black Widow's head, all I see is Scarlet Johansan, and they always use bodies with WAYY to large of a bust size.  Luckily I found a "generic head" I think will work

Walgreens is definitely top of the list for places everyone needs to check. My local store must keep poor track of stock, because they will frequently have a few random Black Series figures from years ago.

That aside,  my question for everyone is has anyone purchased a Hot Toys collectible? Do you feel they are on the same level as Sideshow for quality?  I love Sideshow figures, but the ROTJ Luke has a much better facial sculpt in the Hot Toys version.

Hot Toys is FAR superior my friend.  its not just the faces that are better..the clothing, accessories etc are all better.  Sideshow isn't bad for comic accurate characters, video game and non human characters.  But for actor likenesses..Hot Toys is the way ago.  Dare to Compare.....

No luck on anyone I really cared to get. All they had was Throne Room Rey TLJ, Rogue One Death Trooper, he was pretty cool to see in person though, and a K2-SO. So I treated myself to a Dragon Ball Super figure :P My Black Series Vader will hold me over until more figures starts to come out though. I saw the new Anakin Archive figure from the NY toy fair this year, really does look amazing :P I'll be getting him and the new Emperor Palpatine figure to do like a what if Anakin didn't need his Vader armor kind of idea =] There's only a few I really care to get so. Archive Boba, Leia Hoth, Han Hoth, Old Ben Kenobi even though its an older one, maybe ROTS Kenobi when he comes out, and any and all Lukes once they start to come out =]

Is this the correct Hot Toys website that you guys are talking about?

www.hottoys.com.hk/ (http://www.hottoys.com.hk/)

You have piqued my interest and want to check them out.  But a lot of this same stuff is offerd by Sideshow so I am confused.  ???

That is Hot Toys official site:  You can't really order from there its kind of just a show room of sorts.   Hot Toys is a Hong Kong based company and Sideshow Collectibles is the US Distributor of Hot Toys.  You have to buy from the Sideshow site.

I found this old gem at a Meijer store over the weekend, A New Hope Luke Skywalker added to my collection of 6 inch Black Series figures =] And also sort of from the old concept art from back in the day too, or I tried to re-create it anyway :P Saw the Luke though and just couldn't pass that one up because who knows when I'd be able to find one again or new even. Black Series figure collection half way complete, just needing a few more from later in the year and only the one Count Dooku figure for next year

For sure, never even thought to look at a Meijer store before :P I think they still have that same older stock though that first time we moved to Colorado a few years ago with Ahsoka and those better figures, they had Kanan Jarrus, some FO Troopers, and an unmasked TFA Kylo Ren figure still which was cool. Wa...Needed the Luke more though :P Like I said that particular figure is super rare to find anymore now x.x

When you look at the "basic" figure assortments (the ones targeted towards kids) with limited articulation, they haven't got much more expensive.  An increase of maybe 5-6 dollars in 30 years isn't a huge leap.  But now we have higher quality figures with more articulation and sculpting (The Black Series, NECA etc.) which of course costs more.

Yeah, but his vinyl cloak bit the dust in the 1970s, and my mom made me a replacement one out of felt.  So none of this stuff is pristine, but it's eminently recognizable.

Hi Dark Path Media,

WOW! Just for a fleeting moment as I scrolled down I thought this was a real person I know, fellow member of the forum Darth Justicar. Sadly DJ hasn't been active for a long while but they had a fantastic Kylo cosplay and posted a photo that looked almost identical to this even down to the pose!
Anyway that is a fine figurine and the Darth Vader is equally desirable, if only I had some money.

Have a point for sharing.

Moms are great, aren't they?  Yeah, she even nailed the color; if memory serves (it's been a couple years since I last dug that box out), it's a nice, rich brown, fairly close to the original Kenner robe's color, but obviously more fabric-like.  :D

I'll be hopefully getting me an unmasked Kylo figure left over from a southern Meijer store next week so that'll be cool =] I never got to get one a few years ago so, they seem to have old stocks of 6 inch BS figures. Or if they have a masked in that'd be cool to have too. I have an old 3.75 inch BS TFA so far and a 6 inch TLJ. I don't mind getting the older figures so :P

Where on average I'm not a fan of the Inquisitor designs, I admit to having a soft spot for the Second Sister. Might be hype for Fallen Order, but still.

Thats a big part of it, to be sure, but for most of them theyre armor just makes them look like discount shadow troopers - the Second Sister though feels like her armor style is more distinct.

I actually liked the self spinning mechanism. Until they used it to fly/glide with. That was stupid. Nowhere, not even in SW can you defy gravity like that. Other than that stupid helicopter thing, the spinning mechanism was awesome.

The spinning garbage only shows the lack of skill. Plus it's just kids' show kitch. A true saber could never operate in such a configuration. The helicopter function is writing of the caliber that deserves public (and brutal) execution.

Yeah, how do they control issues like Retreating Blade Stall? Where are the Anti-Torque pedals? Can I have a Collective please?

I need to get MS Flight Simulator up and running again, I miss buzzing around in my helicopter (I also have an ETA-2 Interceptor model and the Millennium Falcon)

Yes cylinders don't have a Chord profile shape to create the difference in air pressure above and below the blade/rotor disk to produce lift (I think I got that right - also the collective alters the pitch of the blade to create AoA)

That's a relief, I am a self taught helicopter simulator pilot and tried reading up on all the theory to make my simming more realistic.
I actually landed a Sikorsky (S-61) Sea King on an aircraft carrier in a Royal Navy simulator and surprised all the Instructors once.

Anyhoo, back to action figures...

Yea the Spinning I had no issue with...its kind of like Grevious.  Even the idea that their "kitsch" was throwing it using the force and basically creating a spinning death trap.   Fun Fact: In the comics it is Vader who trains the Inquisitors and each one of them has at least one Cybernetic limb because of it.

Again...had that not been a lightsaber and instead had been a Chakram (like Xena) that they used the Force to manipulate...would have been better.  Like they all carried normal saber but a throwing weapon was their calling card.   I do like how Maul seeming ripped the ring off of the one he took.

if I'm being honest though, when it comes to a spinning weapon, that is about as close as they can get without actually spinning the lightsaber itself. and when I think about it, if that had been the only part that spun, and the blades remained static, I think I would have liked that weapon.

1.) true..but same could be said of a Lightsaber.  Jedi and Sith are surrounded by weapons and they themselves are a weapon.  Yes a Saber can block laser blasts...but a Force User can simply side step and pull the blaster out of their hand.  In the old EU there were multiple examples of Force Users eschewing the Lightsaber all together.  Yes they can throw anything...but anything isn't a sharpened piece of steel that you can send hurtling around a room taking off body parts.  Its fun.

2.) Yes...but a Saber is quick and cauterizes the wound as well as burning the nerve endings.  where as a spinning saw blade is going to rip (especially if you do it slow) and be very messy and painful.  In the words of The Sheriff of Nottingham .... ".....it will hurt more."

If the Force wills it, I would take over, undo everything Disney made, PRUNE the original canon, and produce movies of the most popular book series....within reason. Don't need a 10 movie X-Wing arc. ::) And so no one got too butt hurt, I would offer the Disney actors the opportunity to reprise their roles as the proper characters. I.e. Daisy would be Jaina and Adam would play Jacen.

Since there are good stories to be told that aren't 40ABY, I would recast. Even despite my opinion that no one else will EVER be Han Solo. I also wouldn't hesitate to recast if I felt that the spirit of the character was not being represented. I feel that is far more critical than image.

This sentiment smacks of the reasoning behind LAK's purchase of a very well done Kylo Ren statue. She got it before the release of TFA and found out that the character was less badass and more whiny bitch.

Not as long as you might think. The Vader / Suhei Maul / Ronin Boba were all finds at (of all places) a local anime convention. The BS Boba / Deathtrooper / Jumptroop / Second Sister / (soon) Cal Kestis I've all found at gamestop. The Ronin Jango was a gift.

All together...maybe two to three years. Ive got a couple that arent up right now due to me procrastinating cleaning, but once I do I also have a Rogue 1 Shoretrooper and a BS Rey

The Hot Wheels line of vehicles is pretty good, and readily available at a third of the price for the link you posted.  I use them in my Edge of the Empire TT game for space battles,

If I'm not mistaken, Gwendoline Christie griped sideways that she had a grand total of 3 minutes and change worth of screentime in 2 movies.

What's wrong with the Crossguard?  It makes sense within the story...plus as a HEMA guy it was a design I always wanted to see done.

But yea..Phasma got the shaft bas.  Originally the Chrome Trooper was Kylo Ren's armor but the decided to go "Sith Chic" but didn't want to discard such a cool design.  So she was a last minute creation and they got Gwendoline Christie to be in it but again didn't utilize the actress or the character.  In TFA I got the clear picture Kylo, Phasma and Hux were all vying for top position in the FO and I was hoping for an internal war between the 3 and their parts of the FO.  Hux with his Officers and personal guards, Phasma with the Troopers and Kylo with the Knights of Ren.  But of course that would have made an interesting story so they didn't do it.    Speaking of...did they ever explain Rey's vision of Kylo and the Knights from TFA...I still haven't seen ROS.

Looks fine to me..in fact its design allowed for actual sword techniques to be used and I do like the bleeding "thing" .         Logos and I have gone back and forth on this because I like the more mystical approach to Lightsabers.  Doesn't mean I think it 100% great explanation but it was at least an attempt I can support. Of course this is all IMO.

'Fraid were pretty opposite there. Im pretty positive on the sequels, and as someone who appreciates unique/functional weapons design, Kylo actually has my favorite saber design from the franchise as it actually attempts to do *something* to mitigate dismemberment. I've got quite a few x-guard designs on my own over in my "Saber doodle" thread, all of which try to tackle real-life swordplay tactics in lightsaber form. I do agree Phasma was critically underused and the internal conflict within the FO would have been a cool story to explore. I like what we got though.

Some jedi did lose hands in combat. Though that's not what they are here for according to them...
I don't understand how this saber (which was there to try and reproduce the hype with Maul's lightsaber from ep1) can appeal to anyone. But you have every right to like it. I don't. And never will. So I won't buy any Kylo figure.
And that's a shame. I like Adam Driver.

I didn't have an issue with the design incorporating vents to accommodate a faulty crystal. I actually thought that was a good idea. My beef is the why it was cracked.

And per usual, each trilogy had its own OMG with sabers:

OT - lightsaber. Wow enough
PT - Saber staff. HFS that thing has 2 blades
ST - Crossguard saber. Hmmm that's different.

Personally I had higher hopes for its functionality, but the ST failed to excite me on almost every level.

As for the use of varied sword techniques, they didn't need a new saber design to achieve this. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Qui Gon fight with a broadsword-like style?

I wanted a less idiot-direct approach to the mysticism: color change came from exposure of the wielder. I would have loved it if they would have re-edited ROTS so that Vader-kin's saber started going purple-fuchsia after the attack on the temple. And by the time he fights Obi Wan, it is already fully red.

Nor is the Cross Hilt Saber.  The last time I hit myself with a crossguard was the first time I picked up a longsword 30 years ago.  If real practitioners using crosshilted swords don't hit themselves why would a Force User.  It was funny how the fandom got a new split when the Crossguard came into play...with fans who were trained in Longsword loving it and explaining how it could work.  I'm not saying you should like it....but that is on of the reasons some of us do.

Depends on how your defining "Broadsword"......   But Qui-Gon's style what almost completely inspired by Japanese swordsmanship.  His opening stance is a very classic Kenjustu stance.

I thought his style lacked a lot of flourish, and pretty much whenever his blade was on, both hands were on the hilt.

This also would have done more to explain the "Force connection" between wielder and crystal. But at the same time would have debunked the hippy dippy "only Jedi get crystals" bull$#!%.

Japanese Swordsmanship is almost devoid of flourish and other than a few rare styles keeps both hands on the hilt.  Wushu (Chinese Origin) has a lot of flourish in it and that is what Ray Park is trained in.  Nick Gillard, the stunt choreographer and basically the creator of the 7 Lightsaber styles, mixed Kendo, Wushu and Olympic Fencing to get his desired result.     What most people call a "broadsword" is actually a Longsword.  Broadsword is a bit of a source of contention in many HEMA circles.   They mixed in some longsword moves to Kylo's fighting..which made me excited for more...didn't deliver.  Here is an example of a choreographed longsword fight using real techniques, if only Hollywood would hire Experts in the specific style they want on screen.

This is a great explanation! I had the opportunity to take a couple Kendo classes and I can attest that there is no flourish or fanciness, it is a very utilitarian and every component has an important use. Qui-Gon's style is quite reminiscent of this. And I agree that Kylo's style of fighting incorporated more Western swordplay - including a lot of the physicality to those techniques.

Lightsabers are interesting even outside of their coolness.  Beyond the discussions on how they work...how they are used is an even more interesting one.  It's supposed to be a sword...but there is a lot of things swords have it doesn't.  For one Saber's are curved swords...but I guess Lightrapier didn't have the ring Lucas wanted.  Swords have edges that require proper alignment and friction to cut...lightsabers do not.  Right there a ton of techniques become unnecessary.  It will always cut.  Then the hilt...its rounded, Sword Hilts are always oval or even slightly rectangle because it provides better hold and allows you to know where the edge is without looking.  Again, unnecessary for a Lightsaber.  So in terms of real world combat Rapier and Jian styles would probably fit best in terms of swords.  But I think Escrima would be a better fit and I don't think anyone has done this yet.

I wish I could simply say "yes" lol.  I have never been formally trained in any martial art, but Combat related things, especially ancient forms of combat.  I never wanted to take the "Strip Mall" martial arts (not that my family could have afforded it anyway) so I found as many resources as I could.  First those stupid "How to" books but as I got older and the internet became a thing I found places to see old manuscripts and manuals. Basically, I'm self trained in a little of a lot of things.  Weapons are my forte though.  Swords especially, have been since I first heard "By the Power of Greyskull!"
I'm also a history enthusiast so I things like learning how the Knights and Samurai would have fought was a pursuit.  But those pursuits lead me to look at many other cultures and their martial history...at least what has survived.  So much has been lost.

As a history buff and weapons buff I do like to dispel myths...such as European swords being heavy lumps of Iron inferior to everything else.  But it is hard for to watch things with combat or history in it....to often I find myself saying "what are you doing" or "the hell is that"  lol.  Luckily my wife isn't annoyed by it.  After we watch something with sword fighting or historical things she asks what they got wrong lol.  Its not that I don't understand changes have to be made....but its a lot of little things that add up and give people false perceptions.  Like Medieval clothing ...its always dark and drab in films or covered in filth.  Our ancestors actually loved brightly colored clothing and while yes their hygiene would put us off they did wash themselves and their clothes.  Honestly if life was actually how Hollywood showed it we wouldn't be here because everyone would have died of infections lol.

I grew up in bad neighborhoods, violence in the family with alcohol, and having a violent temper at age 11 a teacher took interest in me and introduced me to martial arts i immediately fell in love with it and found my calling first as a student then as an instructor. I have studied various martial arts over the last 48 yrs  and have payed that teachers kindness forward when ever i can. and like you the history of hand to hand combat with and without weapons intrigues me. Your are very correct about things that have been lost to time and in the name of progress. I have my own grievances about these "storefront" schools that i will not get into in an open discussion. Starwars has awaken and brought to life though in a fantasy background some old ideas made anew and the board rules wont allow me to get into it . Dart Tepes you keep on finding things from the past and enlighten those around you . I would to read your thoughts on what you have discovered
It is incredibly powerful to understand that violence is within us all. The responsible person finds positive and constructive ways to vent it.

Two different things both worth having.  One is a nice 6 inch series not to expensive....the other is a couple of hundred dollars and 12 inches (or so)....but yes....they are magnificent.  And every year they get better...I mean look at this upcoming figure.  Not star wars though.....(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200805/2336e44f55eb0db810142f9362688c36.jpg)

There are really only two basic stands for 1/6 scale figures.  The ones that clip around the waist...which pretty much every collector rejects because its ugly, damaging to the figure and limits possibility.  Then there is the standard one like this that goes up between the legs, doesn't damage the figure and give you freedom of poses.  I guess my dirty mind cuts off about certain
 things lol.

Lawd, do I know that. Sabers, LEGOs, POPs, rebuilding a decimated anime collection, nerd art, cosplay, cons, video games, movies, novelty Tees, and various bits and bobs of AWESOME. All on top of trying to propose, pay off student loans DONE, save for a house, and plan a wedding. Why did nobody ever tell me being a nerd was so expensive?

I gotta be honest, I wish they would have waited for the waited for the rumored airing of Ahsoka in Mando, and then used a younger image of Rosario as the basis. Unless, they based the face off of Ashley's.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the realism of the face is off putting considering that the character has never been live-action.

I still don't know why there are no rumors around Ashley playing Ahsoka in Live action. I know she's done live action stuff before. Plus she knows the character better than just about everyone, except maybe Filoni. And personally, I think she looks more like Ahsoka than Dawson does. Whatever though. That's just me.

Oh, and it does look like the face is based off of Ashley's to me.

I think it is because Ahsoka's features are distinctly NOT....."Caucasian". They severely changed the look of the character in SWR. That may have been an artistic style decision, considering most of the characters had long features. That version of Ahsoka looked....well....British if I'm being honest about regional characteristics. Plus this

(https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTk1NjQ3NTYyNF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODU4NzQ4NQ@@._V1_UY1200_CR86,0,630,1200_AL_.jpg)(https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/c_fill,f_auto,fl_progressive,g_center,h_675,pg_1,q_80,w_1200/yas9s3pmlwx9yk6ogxeo.jpg)

Rosario has features that already look like Ahsoka's. Plus she's a talented actress. I think she'll crush it. Also,...she's 5" taller than Ashley. Fits the character better.

For adult Ahsoka, Rosario is the best bet.  Ashley's features better fit younger Ahsoka....as evidenced by the time she did cosplay as her.

I had SO MANY Star Wars figures when I was little.  I was born in '76, and my uncle bought me a new figure every week from the first movie all the way through ROTJ.  I had to have hundreds of figures, some never opened.  Some got lost, some got broken, most got sold, only a few survived the equivalent of my childhood order 66.  I wish I still had them all!!!  Not to mention all the vehicles and playsets... OMG.

OMG.
LMFAO childhood order 66... I can only wonder if you handed down the order (purposively as you got older or unintentionally through apathy) or if it was a directive handed down from parentals/moving related? But I feel your pain, I had SO MANY action figures and collectables I was anal retentive about keeping nice/wholly unopened to maintain value. Only to have them taken from me, I would eviscerate those responsible today if possible... the net worth of all that was easily thousands but the sentimental value alone was beyond compare, especially adding in trading cards. If only I could go back.

Hi everyone,

I didn't get any of the newer figures but I did get some of the classics and a super exclusive one-off figure last year. Mrs Tyeth bought me a twin pack of Maul and Qui-Gon...

And the exclusive one-off figure...

P.S. I must point out the Tyeth figure is NOT available to buy in stores anywhere  ;) ;D

Well. This is me officially saying I hate you all Americans for getting this wonderful Bo-Katan Black Series figure before everyone else.
I need one. I need one of each of the nite owls... I mean. Bo-Katan and the girl. Could not care less about the dude.

So Lucasfilm 50th anniversary amirite? And... A new Jar Jar figure... An ep 1 battle droid "roger roger". But nothing from the so called sequels. That warms my dark side heart =)
At least they know figures from those movies do not sell.
Speaking about Jar Jar... I'm sure you guys saw this...

The fact that they CHOSE to produce/rerelease a JARJAR figure above the new sequels... wow. That is really something. Darth JarJar is officially cooler than Kylo Ren? That's not entirely fair, I love playing Ren on occasion in SWBF 2, and he does look cool. Not his fault about nonsensical plot, it's impossible to act your way around bad script. I'd still buy a flameberge from US or some type of BA figurine. Even if just for the occasional chuckle. I'll purposefully let it stand in the shadow of Jar Jar on the shelf. Thanks for giving me my laughing myself into tears for the day.

I for one do not hold any grudges against actors. I love Adam Driver. And Daisy Ridley was ok. The problem has always been the characters story/developpment and oh the lack of a plot whatsoever.

This.   Adam Driver could have done so much more with a better writer/director.... especially if they just went ahead and made him Jacen.  But the head of Gentle Giant himself said in an interview last year that the market isn't there for Sequel Characters.

Damn shame for those of us who did end up enjoying the sequels. Kylo is arguably my favorite character of the franchise at this point.

Pretty dang valid points, I'll agree with both of you there... I lost interest before the last movie, and need to find a copy to watch still. As I said, I do enjoy tearing through rebels as Ren, he has some sick moves and power, so I'll admit it's not ALL irredeemably bad. If I can keep my eyes from bleeding I'll attempt it at the earliest convenience. I've watched enough movies to know I will have seen worst, and will inevitably again. I need to look through everything I have to see if I have anything that survived to be posted here. I fear everything noteworthy was lost or sold without my consent a long time ago. So I have total collectable envy now...

Now ill give a heads-up that although I am a large fan of the sequels on the whole, that if im being fair, TRoS is probably the weakest entry. I still enjoy it a bunch, but there werre some odd decisions made for that film to be sure. So if I'm saying that you can take that one to heart. I very much enjoy Kylo's story arc in the last movie but I know for a lot of people TRoS was especially rough, especially with the movie opening with a pretty jarring shift of focus when it comes to the baddies. Though if visuals are something you can appreciate I will let you know that it is an absolutely gorgeous movie by any standard visually and audially.

I guess what Im saying is if you like the sequels I recommend it! If you didnt like TFA / TLJ I wouldnt expect too much out of TRoS. If anything its a good pop-corn muncher.

The most accurate description is I watched them in sequence with slowly decreasing enjoyment and exponentially rising confusion, and it sounds like that trend just kept on a trucking... But I'll swallow that pill one day too, as a "dedicated fan" I owe it to myself to put myself through it 1st hand and decide for myself after. I may need to become heavily inebriated, but it'll happen. If I wind up seriously enjoying it...that's when I'll truly have to question all aspects of my life after. Yep, felt like staring into the abyss with the abyss staring back just thinking that thought.

For transparency, I liked (not Loved) TFA.  HATED TLJ and only just watched TRoS the other day..and didn't even finish it.  I wish I could say I was so angry I cut it off in a huff...because that would at least be a reaction.  But I wound up bored and started reading scary stories on my phone till I realized it was still on.

The worst part, well one of the worst parts, of the sequel trilogy is that TFA, though not the best SW film, set up for something that could've been easily as good as the OT or PT. I don't know if y'all have heard this, but apparently JJ had originally intended for Luke to me meditating and have massive boulders floating around him when Rey found him, but Rian asked if he could change that one thing. Literally, if that one thing hadn't have been changed, the entire ST would've been completely different, and more than likely, AWESOME! But of course, we all know how it turned out, and I don't hate the ST like so many do. It was just such a let down from what it could've and should've been. But yeah, no hate to the actors, they actually did a great job with what was given to them.

Also, love the Cara Funko Tepes. Not a huge Funko fan, but Cara is awesome.

Ruin's a d*ck no surprise here... He's one of the reason the ST went sideways. The other one being no script for the three consecutive films.
I hated TLJ for a moutain of reasons. But at least I give JarJar Abrahams credit for trying to correct part of TLJ stupidity. Though, too little too late. Plus big chunks of it were supposedly cut off and it was rearranged. In the end, as far as I am concerned, it's far from being the worst of the three. And at least half of the problems in the movie come from the worst of the three.

See, I'm the weirdo that thinks TLJ is the best of the sequels. I thought TFA was great, TLJ is one of my favorites, and TRoS is fun. Then again, I'm also the weirdo that only dislikes 1/9 movies of the franchise so I guess im just not that picky lol.

For me, my 1/9 is TLJ, and that isn't even a "I HATE THIS MOVIE". Its a "this is not a good movie, but because it's labeled "Star Wars" I'll enjoy it while I'm watching and then go on disliking it while I'm not".

I did not even enjoy it while I was seeing it.
I really don't understand how someone could like this movie. The storytelling is badly done, the script is... urgh. Rose Tico? URGH. the holdo suicide? What's the point? Jake Skywalker ??? Sure, some shots are pretty and all... But overall it was painful to watch.
So I'm not surprised that toys from this particular movie do not sell.

Funnily enough, it wasn't an intentional move on my part.
I was just thinking I needed a Cara Dune figure because I'm wainting on a mando + child figure. So I gave in. The black series was unavailable so I went for this one. 2 days after getting it... She was fired. And ebay is kinda going crazy. It was already too late to snag another one from the shop.
Oh well.

Yea...the first wave of Cara figures I passed on because I did not know whether The Mandalorian would be any good.  Second Release  adulting things took precedence and I missed that one to.  Preordered the 3rd release then the bullshellery happened and Hasbro canceled the pre orders.  So to Ebay I had to go.  Luckily I found one that wasn't insanely marked up.

Hot Toys is based in Hong Kong and uses distributers in other countries.  A google search should show you where to buy in your country.  The US Distributer is Sideshow and they do offer International shipping if push comes to shove.

No Worries, point back at ya.  If this is your first Hot Toys..I will warn you. It becomes obsessive.  Eight years ago I found the company and saw their Christopher Reeve Superman figure....I thought:  "That's the only one I will ever get."    Well, the the Keaton Batman came out...well..Had to get him to.  Then the Diecast Robocop, The Predator, Then  the star wars figures....  it never ends.  But I  love it.  As long as I can afford it that is.

Hi Darth Tepes, you got a real nice haul of figures there but this final one really annoys me....when are Hasbro and Hot Toys etc gonna stop making cheap imitations of me and my figure? ;D

Seriously though, I wish I owned them.

Looks like The Black Series has improved since the last ones that I bought. Is it just me or do these have more points of articulation than figures they made a year or two ago?

Actually these are just repaints and repackaging of existing figures (other than Jaxxon).  The Heir to the Empire Luke is clearly just a repaint of Dagobah Luke from last year.

Mine and my bro's Qui-gon should be shipping out here soon, I pre-ordered 2 ahead of time so we could get one for once this time around =] I needed one to go with my Padawan Obi-wan figure :P Qui-gon has always been my bro's favorite character. Seen some youtube videos so far though and even for a Black Series figure really does look amazing =] My next and last ones will be the new ROTS Obi-wan and 501st Clones when they come out later in the year. I might pick up the new amazon Ben Kenobi figure though, not too sure yet though

I know kinda late getting one but ANH Leia and Phase 1 Clonetrooper figures added and getting in on the 14th =] I've been really on a Clonetrooper figure kick lately so, it'll be nice to have the standard Clone in 6 inch version finally too :P I'll have to re-arrange my figures again though so they both fit x.x Plus when the new ROTS Obi-wan and 501stClone figures comes out later in the year too

Kotobukiya, and no - just a plain statue. I really like it though, really good quality on the mold

Kotobukiya.
Amazing company. They make so many cool things I want but the prices and my lack of space combined with a cat that is constantly checking to make sure that gravity is indeed still working means that if anything, I need to fill in the major gaps in my pathetic Black Series collection.

Side question for Darth Tepes (or any one else that feels qualified to answer): Are Hot Toys and Kotobukiya related in any way? I just recall them having a lot of cross content and I had taken note of both companies at about the same time for what I percieved as similarly mind blowing quality. I believe I first saw a Kotobukiya Batman that I still want more than any other figure ever. It was either the 1989 Batman (my ultimate) or The Dark Night (my second but very close to ultimate). Any idea who makes the best Wolverine or Punisher? Thanks.

Sorry about the vignette or shadows.

Nope separate figures....which is why I held out because I knew him in his Beskar would be out sometime.  Now there is two more on the way.....a Deluxe with a freaking Swoop Bike and one with the Beskar spear.  The just came out with a mando on a Blurrg as well.   Not to mention Clone Wars Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and Maul.....then Bo-Katan....

Hi Zren, after my country's defeat (narrow defeat) in the European Soccer Championship I might need to buy another Qui-Gon figure to cheer me up! Glad to hear it is a good figure to own  though :) Will try and post pics (but they'll be unopened)

p.s.I am really disappointed as I used to play soccer and was a goal tender so to lose on penalties hurts! Well done Italy.

Hi Darth Tepes, thanks for the recommendation. I have a friend who is into classic graphic novels and might be able to help me out finding some editions. He has a fair collection of "Weird War Tales" and "2000AD" comics and probably a few "What If..?" hiding somewhere.

Worth it.  Of course not all of them are gems but my two favorites are one where Wolverine gets transported back to the Hybeorean Age and winds up Ruling it with Red Sonja as his Queen and Frank Castle getting the Venom Symbiote.
