ALWAYS uninstall your old version of Obsidian Launcher before installing a new one!!

Do NOT use version 2.0.1 and do NOT use version 1.x.x.  Please be sure to use version 2.2.2.

This version, and later versions, of the Obsidian Launcher is REQUIRED for use with the new Obsidian XT boards which feature Flash on Clash™  If you use an old launcher with these new boards, it will not function properly, so PLEASE install this new version!

The new launcher solves a few problems, the biggest of which is the CRC file copy error some people were getting when trying to load large font files.

Well... I Got A Crap Ton of Error Messages (I Am Running This On Windows 7, So That Might Be Why...)

However, Everything Seems To Be Working Fine... I'll Have To Wait Till I Get My First Obsidian Saber (Going To Be My Overlord ;)!!!) Before I Can Tell For Sure If Everything Is Functioning Correctly ;)!!!

Thank You Ultra and Team ;)!!!  I Have A Couple of "Bigger" Custom LSU Files That I Am Going To Want To Try and Use ;)!!!  So Hopefully This Will Eliminate Any Issues That I Might Have Had  8)

I received many "The file you are trying to replace is older than what is installed" dialogs, and a few errors when it tried to run the regsvr on the previously installed files. As long as you keep your existing files, you will be fine. The regsvr calls are erroring out because the files are already registered with the system.

I got windows 7 as well, and got a couple error messages myself including one for the file itircl.dll, but the program downloaded, installed and worked fine.

When I installed this new Obsidian launcher I got an error about my system32\itircl.dll ; system32\itss.dll ; and system32\ hhctrl.ocx when I installed the program. It worked but when I hit the update sound files button it said some error about not having an internet connection when I know for a fact that I did. How do I fix these problems?

you dont need to use the update sound files button.  That button is for a feature not implemented yet.

Ok, new version is working good. But where can I download the LSU convertor program now ? Can't find a link anymore...

Thank you, Ultra! The new Obsidian Launcher works perfectly. Previously, I was experiencing the same problems as AerykGunn and attempting to follow the same steps to correct the issue. The next day, however, there was a new post with the new launcher. Instant success, and my Bellicose is now configured just the way I want it (Sith font, of course ;D) and it sounds AWESOME! You are indeed the master.

Nice. But the same thing still keeps happening. "Error accored while registering the file" so on and so on. Why does this keep happening? Is it cause I actually need to get an Obsidian saber and plug the sound board into the computer before it fully downloads?

Are you getting this before the initial download completes or when you try to run the program?

To answer you question you do not need a saber to complete the download.  If you haven't uninstalled the old version COMPLETELY (as in go to control panel -> Add/Remove programs and choose the Obsidian software) this could contribute to your problem.

More details and we'll see what we can do for you.

Ohh I get it. I wasn't unzipping the original folder and putting the stuff into a new folder. Dumb me. xp

Nope still no go. D< I click yes 4 times when it asks if you want to keep the old files and all, gets to the fifth thing then it just stops. "An error accored while registering the file". Like am I supposed to change the directory and group first? Even if I do that the program won't download at all what so ever. e.e

Now I finally got it! I didn't see the part where Emory just said to click ignore a bunch of times. Its all good now though. Now to test some of the fonts I downloaded. :D Sorry to rant on the past few days about not being able to download the program. Glad Emory pointed that out though.

is there anyway to "Reset" the obsidian board if u whould have bad luck and get corrupted file on it, causing static in the background?

Hmm a couple of times I have had this CRC error message during the memory check after download to the saber. It tends to occur early on ~20% of the memory check.
When this happens I need to load a sound selection I saved previously and redo the download to set the saber back to that, which seems to always work OK. It might be that I am just hitting a problem with certain .lsu files in my selection but I am not technically minded enough to know if that causes these CRC errors to begin with.

I just ordered my Bane saber with this great sound board, but I too am having trouble with simply downloading the Obsidian Launcher. I understand the tutorial Emory posted about installing it, but I am unable to even get to that point. Would someone be so kind as to create a step-by-step post from clicking on the download to the point Deep picks up on his video? Many thanks in advance. I'm anxious to start playing around with this thing!!!

My version of the Launcher doesn't include the "USB 64" in the title.  What do I do?  Emory was adamant about not using the launcher if it did not have "USB 64" in the title. 

I use the DOWNLOAD feature which is a little different from the steps in the video... I keep getting error 53 and it will not open? Any ideas?

I tried to download it and I got blocked by the WinZip program, which I do not use. Since it's expired, it'd be annoying to have to buy it in order to download Obsidian. Is there another program you can use to unpack this file?

how do you know if you have this version the one i have says v2.0 at the top does this one say v2.0.0 at the top

about the 64 question. I had to figure this out for my self and came to the conclusion that its concerning the FoC option. Now if you have FoC on your saber the Obsidian launcher should say the 64 part. If it does not say that 64 part and you do have FoC you need to contact Ultrasabers. If you do not have FoC it will only give you the serial number and its safe to use.

I think you might want to delete the old one and just use the newer one so there are no conflicts with the programs

I can't install the new 2.2.2 version.

After launching the setup,  I get a message saying:

"Setup cannot continue because some files are out of date on your system. click ok if you would like setup to update these files for you now. You will need to restart Windows before you can run setup again. Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files."

Then I press Ok and another message appears saying:

"Do you want to restart Windows? If you choose no, yuo will not be able to run setup again until aftyer the system is rebooted at a later time."

I press Yes and the system is rebooted. After the reboot, I try again to launch the setup but I still get the message about the old files.

What's the problem? What are these old files?

(my OS is Windows xp service pack 3)

Major thanks to the guys at Ultrasabers for getting rid of my CRC errors.  Two fonts I have wanted to put on my saber and now I can.  Very happy.  Thanks.

I grabbed this last night, downloaded the sound bites, and was able to customize my DE v3 with the Dark Star sounds. Very cool and worked as advertised. I did have a bit of trouble with my older WIN XP machine and the launcher would not load. So, I switched over to my WIN 7 laptop and it worked like a charm. Many thanks for a wicked new toy...! :)

Oops I see now, it's an old version, sorted it now by using the latest version.

I've gotten a saber with an Obsidian 2.0 board a few months ago and I've never gotten the Obsidian Launcher to work....I get :

"The procedure entry point_except_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll."

HELP!

Which version of the Obsidian Launcher do you have installed?

You need to be using v2.2.2 from what I've read, but you can't use that with the newer obsidian v3+ boards.

From what I've read, the process to follow (if you have both older and newer sabers) is to install 3.1.4 after uninstalling all older versions. Then you can reinstall v2.2.2.

From there I think you just have to make sure you run the right launcher with the right saber. Check the first post in this thread for details. So.. It's telling me to insert a disk to install it. I cannot for the life of me figure this stuff out..

Is there a plugin to modify the actual .lsu files?

ok so I can access the 2.2.2 program but when I plug MY Saber in I get no connectivity.  I mean no start up sound no icon for new device I am curious if my sound board is fried or dead or something.  Kinda frustrating I tried to take the saber apart but couldn't figure out how to get the on/off button out so i gave up and put it back together because I thought there was a broken wire.  So I looked up how to work with the soundboard and found this but I am at another dead end.  Looking for help from more experienced Jedi

When you move the LSU converter in to the obsidian launcher what do you start it in?

Sadly, I was told to use this new launcher version "which is compatible with all previous launchers" i was told.  I attached my pre-2013 saber, got a "Not compatible, you need earlier version v1 or v2" and it disabled my Flash on Clash...my v2.2.2 launcher can't turn it on, and v1 is no where to be found anywhere.....THANKS ALOT Ultrasabers....your tech support also told me v4 launcher will work on my saber....which it doesn't....and actually asked my if my <2013 saber had the emerald driver.  You will see I had a new Kylo Ren type lightsaber in my cart....but i'm not buying another disaster
