Hey guys. I was searching through these topics and saw something with video games. I just got The Force Unleashed and it is AMAZING!!! The only problem is it's on my Wii, so the graphics aren't as good as they would be if they were on Xbox. I still love the game, though. Personally, the gameplay is better than the cutscenes. I love the yellow blade with the heavy training gear on Starkiller because he just looks so op. 5/5 to the game creators.

 I'm trying to beat TFU 2 again at the moment on the hardest difficulty and it is really hard, at least for me. I like the first one more because of the boss battles being against lightsaber wielding opponents and I felt like the story was better as well.
I wish they would make something new with the controls from Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. I don't understand why every sword based combat game doesn't make use of the analog stick.    

Haven't played the first, but I have played TFU II, and it is awesome.

 If you liked TFU 2 I HIGHLY recommend picking up 1 if you get a chance. It's longer and I feel like the whole thing is more of an actual story.
Plus, not to spoil anything, you get to play as someone pretty damn special for the first level. ;)

I have been wanting too, but I don't play Xbox much, and they don't make it for PS4.

 Solution. Trade me your PS4 for my XBOX 360 with TFU ! and 2 on the hard drive. Good trade yeah? ;)

TFU brought me to the Dark Side, and is the source of my all time favorite scene. Can anyone say "Star-Destroyer-killer"? ;)

The first was superior to the sequel.

I played 1 on DS and 360, and LOVED IT, 2 for 360 was good, got repetitive but throwing troopers into those fans is awesome

I actually loved the the "Poor Bob" achievement. I thought 2 was too short, and jumped too many sharks. But 1 was kriffing AWESOMENESS incarnate.

So, who do we have to threaten to get a third? Even if they take it in some new story direction, they need style and inspiration from the first TFU.

Fable 2 and TFU are why I bought Xbox 360.

That bit killed me. I don't know if it was just me, but the on-screen indicators for what to do were showing Up when of course it was supposed to be Down.

I must have plugged away at it for an hour or more before giving up and looking it up. Realising that there was such a fundamental flaw really spoiled that moment for me. Ten years later, still annoyed. :D

I played II but didn't enjoy it as much. I devoured I, but II annoyed me in places, and I eventually got stuck fighting a whole bunch of clones - couldn't work out how I was supposed to get past them without, essentially, becoming much, much better at the game, and i just didn't have the motivation to go back and practise enough.

The scripting for that scene sucked, but the concept art is just......hmmmmmmmmmmm ::) My biggest issue with it was grabbing the damn TIEs.

The Force Unleashed I really blew my mind away...loved it from the moment I first put the disc in my Xbox360. The stroy was just perfect for me. The powers were so much fun to use. And the style of it all was a dream come true. I is one of the reasons for my Xbox360 to be still connected to my TV.

Years later, I actually ended up making my own Starkiller costume inspired by the way he is dressed at the begining of the last mission (the white cloak). Of course mine was not at all an exact copy but having made it myself I still feel very proud of it. Just going to a convention wearing that with my Aeon V4 saber with silver hilt and Sun Rider's Destiny blade and having someone actually recognize him in me was a great moment for me.

The second game I bought without hesitation. It wasn't bad but it just didn't feel as good to me as the first one so I never really thought about it much in years that followed.

 Absolutely loved TF1 the most.  I am still using PlayStation 3, but if they come out with some more I'll make the jump to a new console.

I loved both Force unleashed games. They were both GREAT games, and I was sad when they didn't make a third.

Aye, I think all of us are upset or angered they didn't make a third, I want to find the genius responsible and run them through with Galen Marek's saber, just my opinion

Have the original and the sequel for my XBox One, still play it. My favorite Star Wars game to date

I too love the original and sequel games! I've owned both games in the past, but now my younger brother owns the original for PS3, and recently my Playstation system has been undergoing some problems with it's software. But yeah. I really like both titles, although Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II was short and had more of a civilized Empire feel to the game and a total lack of native population in the game unlike the first did. Though I do know the reason why it was created shorter than the first; Disney's franchise takeover from Lucan Film, and as a result the shutdown of LucasArts and the "Expanded Universe" being made "uncanon".  :-\

I do hope it gets revisited one day although I’ve read that the Fallen Order game will borrow some things from TFU series. I’m soeculating some of Starkiller’s specials like Force choke, Force hold, saber throw, and some of the game play.

just played it for the first time a few days ago, I love this game! I really enjoy the gameplay, and I really like all the fun combo's you can do. I had to stop in the middle of the first level but I did enjoy being able to throw the TIE's around.

TFU is probably the best games ive ever played wayyyy to much fun 100/10 IGN

The Force Unleashed is a lot of fun, especially the Playstation 2 version. I have it for both the PS2 and the XBOX 360 because I didn't have the 360 when TFU was released, but I picked it up later. The 360/PS3 version has way better graphics, of course, but the PS2 version has features I like better. There are parts that take place within the Jedi Temple. Vader sends Starkiller there for research, and you fight force ghosts of long dead Sith lords. It's really cool, they're like bonus boss fights. Also, when you're playing, you can block blaster bolts and move, which you can't do in the 360 version. I think some of the other Force powers are slightly different. Anyway, it has some other cool features too, and it does showcase just what the PS2 hardware can do with graphics, since it came out towards the end of life for the PS2, as far as game releases. I think the Wii might have gotten that version too, since the Wii also has less advanced hardware than the 360 and PS3.

Ironically, I've only ever beat the game on the PS2. I've played it through more than once. I can't seem to be bothered to finish it on the 360. ;) (good thing I bought the 360 copy used for not a lot of money)

The PS2 version was definitely better than the 360 version and I have both and beaten on both consoles.

I think they're the same. They were done by a separate studio to work with the lower hardware specs of the Wii and PS2.

That would explain the lack of graphics. I had the strategy guide. The PS3 version was identical to the 360, but if you started from the other end of the book, it had the walk-through for the Wii. It's how I first heard of Darth Phobos, and that was one of the factors in how I came up with my own Sith name.

Yeah, the Wii could never hang with the PS3 or XBOX 360 in terms of graphics. That's why it cost so much less. I never owned one, but I've played a bit on my sister's Wii, and it's OK. But, at least it got the cool version of TFU. ;)

I have some HD Retrovision cables on the way from Castlemania Games for my PS2, and you can bet TFU is one of the first games I'm going to play once I get the PS2 hooked up in HD. I tried it on an emulator on my computer the other day, but there were too many graphical errors for my liking.

If the PS2 version was "so great" why is does the novelization follow the PS3 version?

Or perhaps it's a mix of the two. How did the adventures on Raxus Prime play out?

I said I prefer the PS2 version, I never said it was "the" version. I just like what I like. ;)

Though, the novel doesn't really follow anything. The whole project was a multimedia project that was developed simultaneously, much as they did with Shadows of the Empire about a decade earlier. However, the answer is really pretty simple: the PS3 and XBOX 360 were current generation consoles when all of this was released, the PS2 wasn't. The PS3/360 version would probably be considered the more "official" version.

Either way, it's a great game and if you play both versions you can note the differences. Since they were done by different studios and the PS3 and 360 are technically superior, the levels are completely different. But, that actually makes it more fun to play both versions.

One of these days, I need to pop my XBOX 360 disc into my XBOX One because I can. The game is one of the many older Star Wars games that work on the One.

2) You didn't specify the events of Raxus Prime. I remember the novel deviated from the plot of the PS3 game. I wondered if it followed the PS2 version.

Yes, that's the first Raxus Prime level. You actually go there twice.

I don't think I made it to the second one. I just remember thinking Kazdan Paratus was one of the most unique Jedi I have ever seen.

That's the first trip to Raxus Prime. On the return trip is what I'm interested in.

The second trip, you are out to stick it to the Imp.s by disrupting their salvage operation. During his ascent, Proxy takes advantage of the opportunity, and tries to fulfill his programming and kill SK, pulling out Darth Maul. This is where the book deviates to something very weird.

The most memorable thing for me about the second Raxus Prime level is pulling the Star Destroyer down using the Force.

They got the Balrog right. The rest of the movie wasn't terrible (but not great either in terms of being based off the book), but that Balrog was beautiful.

Yes, the movies themselves are amazing movies. But when I take myself out of movie fan mode and put myself in Tolkien's World fan mode, they are not that great.

So grow-up, get a film degree, and remake them the way they should have been.

This game was basically a wet dream for lovers of the expanded universe. It's also been an inspiration for Star Wars D&D. Because Edge of the Empire is lackluster when it comes to Jedi/Sith/Grey Jedi and their abilities in combat, I started making my own progression trees based loosely off of SWTOR. Mucho bueno
