I was finally able to get some of the ladies of the AFA on camera. Of course there is hardcore dueling action. On a serious note, I showcased the very real issue of light saber addiction. You certainly do cover many aspects of Two thoughts: 1. Does this perhaps belong in the combat section? It is more than just that... 2. The forum admin MIGHT see this as an advertisement or recruiting video. I really don't see it that way, but if that is in fact your hope/intent, I'd PM him (Ultra) about it first. ;) Good stuff though. I didn’t know what subforum would fit, so I went generic with this movie section. Those combat folks can be a prickly lot and I didn’t want them to have to wait through 4 minutes of talking before the bloodshed! As for the intent, I only meant to share our little pocket of the world with the larger community. Sabering is many different things to many different people and I wanted to showcase some of what it means to our group. A couple weeks ago, a woman I work with asked me about what I do with light sabers/martial arts. She was interested in trying something new but wasn’t sure if the environment would be comfortable as a woman. That really inspired me to get some of the women I train with on camera discussing what they enjoy. The world has come a long way in breaking down Star Wars stereo types about gender in recent years, but not all the way yet. I wanted to portray sabering as a fun place for all. Hopefully that came through too.
