Clear blades keep color better. UE makes things a little pale. Greens, light blues and yellows can be great with UE for the edge more like in the movie. Red, purple and deep blue color will be reached better with clear.

Couldn't really say since I've bought UE/HG blades on everything

Personally I think reds, oranges, and yellows look much better in non UltraEdge blades.  In a heavy grade there will be more of a brightness hit too if you go with UltraEdge instead of clear due to the thicker white plastic.  On the other hand the "light in a tube" effect is more pronounced with a clear heavy grade blade, again due to the thicker plastic.  Still, my "full contact" choice would be clear Heavy Grade for a Blazing Red blade.

So in your experience which blade color would you consider the brightest?

Clear heavy grade looks best for blazing red if you plan on dueling, in my opinion.

I like every color in UE better. But just like everybody else it's just an opinion. Here is a crop of a picture I took yesterday from left to right is two UE, one is heavy grade the other is regular, I forgot which one was which. The third is a red day blade, so think reg blade tinted red in regular grade. The last is regular blade in heavy grade.

As you can see the day blade and regular heavy grade has a center core and neither UE have that. I don't like the center core look. And I don't think the UE dims any color enough to make a difference. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180711/69aede9ae2feb99b548de716a0f15e2e.jpg)

Blazing Red goes best with a thin wall blade with diffusion film that is as clear as possible, which means the Midgrade (regular) blade.

LOL   Lots of opinions.  :-)

My personal experience: If you're going to be filming the blades in use, UE is the best, it looks AMAZING on film.  But in person, most colors seem to work better with clear blades.  So let your usage guide you.

Yeah I personally like reds in any regular clear blades, red looks okay in Ultra Edge though but best in regular blades

It appears that Ultraedge seems to look better on photos and media because you get that fuller blade effect which translates to a more accurate "wash out" effect. If you really can't decide, get both, especially if you are getting more sabers in the future. You just get a different blade type with each purchase and before long you have them all.  ;D

Uh, white?

Or likely green, but it's not really a fair comparison with different colors. From sources I've read, in LED production, green is easier to provide rich pure color at bright levels with the power supplied.
