Title: Salutations my fellow followers of the Force
Post by: Lady Revan on September 29, 2018, 06:59:16 AM
I’ve been told I should post an introduction, so here I am! Firstly, thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and welcoming already in the FanFiction section. You guys are awesome!!!

I’m currently a second year Master’s Student at Florida International University in Miami, and study Music Performance with the goal set to become a professional opera singer (fun fact: I have an ongoing list of operas that I think would work great set in the Star Wars Universe; top of the list is Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” with the Queen of the Night as the Dark Empress of the Sith and Sarastro’s Masonic Order as the Jedi Order with Sarastro himself as the Grand Master).   I try not to have casual public recordings, just because if I submit to a company and they search me and find them, anything not representative of my current state or technique could cause negative impact on casting decisions. However, my school does livestream broadcasts of our opera productions and I’ll be singing the titular role this year, so I can post a livestream link when that happens (in March).

I teach private voice lessons, gig and do concerts around South Florida, and until today, worked at a pizzeria. I quit because I don’t appreciate being falsely accused of stealing from people without anyone even bothering to check cameras even though I’ve been there longer than anyone else and without any issues, and have previously paid out of pocket for other employees mistakes on numerous occasions. I felt the need to share this because it feels great to know that I don’t have to put up with it any more.

I have been a huge Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember. My dad is a big fan and I have too many little brothers (I’m his only girl) so it ended up as something that all of us enjoyed together. I was way above my reading level in fifth grade, so the only way I ended up able to stay interested was by reading a very large portion of the Expanded Universe (read The Courtship of Princess Leia, Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, the Last Command, The Truce at Bakura, The New Rebellion and many more). I did my 8th grade book report on Timothy Zahn. XD

I’ve recently started choreography combat classes at a Masonic temple down the street from my apartment (I had known about the temple for a long time, but didn’t realize they offered classes). Previously I’ve done some training on my own from videos and (though I’m not sure it can count really) through VR (beat saber) and AR (Jedi challenges). I got my boyfriend his first saber for our anniversary this year (which is today), since he loves taking mine to try.

Beyond music, I also love video games, writing, and cats. KOTOR and KOTOR II and Jedi Academy were my childhood (I’ve always had a preference for PC gaming, specifically RPGs) and I’ve recently been replaying them.

My favorite type of games are RPGs because I’m a sucker for a good story. I’ve done a lot of text-based forum RP before, but never within the Star Wars fandom. I’ve done a LOT of Phantom of the Opera (primarily Leroux, and actually run my own Leroux-based forum, but am currently transferring hosts), and some Downtown Abbey, Lord of the Rings, Phinneas and Ferb, Winx Club, Farscape, and some original forum RPs. I might attempt to join the RP forum here, but I think I’ll lurk for a while to see how it works before making any final decisions.

I dabble in writing and have been currently working on a large-scale KOTOR AU fic in probably 5 parts (possibly more) the start of which I’ve posted the start of here in the fanfiction section (“Only Light Can Cast Shadow”).

I have two cats named Sofie and Missy who are my fluffy children and who like to play with my lightsabers (their favorite types of toys are sticks and lasers so it’s like two in one  for them). They actually have their own cat toy saber (it’s a teaser toy where the stick is a lightsaber and the toy on the end of the string is a training droid like Luke practices with in Episode IV, and inside the training droid is a laser pointer). I’ll post a pic of it eventually. The big kitty’s favorite toys are a plush millennium falcon that she ripped off of the stick of a different teaser toy, and a Princess Leia mouse from the Petco Star Wars toy line (she also has Vader, a storm trooper, Phasma, Han, Han in Carbonite, R2, 3P0, BB8, Ray, Finn, Kylo, Kylo’s lightsaber, Chewbacca, and Yoda.

I’m also learning how to build armor right now, and am building a Darth Revan cosplay as my first project (since the actual “armor” portion is very minimal). Will post pics when finished. My best friend builds a lot of armor, so she’s been helping with technique advice. I’m also forcing my boyfriend to dress as comic Carth, so I’m building shoulder pads for his jacket and painting blaster pistols as well.

I have six sabers so far:
The Guardian in Sunrider’s Destiny (stunt)
The Emperor’s Hand, Silver finish, in Violet Amethyst (obsideon 4)
Scorpion, red finish, in Fire Orange (obsideon 4)
Electrum Wind, Gold Finish, in Sentinel Yellow (obsideon 4)

And on pre-order
The Butcher, black finish, dark violet amethyst for Diamond (diamond control)
The Savior, Gold finish, Aegean Silver with color disks (obsideon 4)

Welcome to the forum, Lady Revan.
It would seem that you are in the process of regaining your true saber

Oh excellent! One introductory point into the light and then one into the dark. I remain centered.

That I am! Just waiting on the ship date like the rest of us.

Once I finish the breastplate, I'll post pics! Right now costume would just look like a Sith sorceress style without the mask and armor >.> New roll of foam finally came so I can continue building.

Hello Lady Revan,

Nice to "meet" you. Unfortunately the forum has an anti Spam and malware policy that restricts members from editing a post after an hour has passed since it was posted. Any edits you want to make to a post needs to be made within 60 minutes from when it was submitted.

On the good side I already found your story and am just getting into it (I mentioned it in the Your Saber Pictures thread). I look forward to finishing it.

point incoming

Ah! Okay, that's good to know. Also, I am mildly amused at the fact that this was your 666th post and also accompanied by a Dark side point XD

I'm glad to know you're getting into it! :D I'm almost finished with the next chapter (for finally--this chapter has taken me about 3 weeks now >.< ) so I'll post that soon. :)

I had noticed the 666 posts too but wasn't sure whether it was a recognised milestone!

And don't worry I am a slow reader as I spend a lot of time designing hilts but when I finish I may try and create a hilt for a character from your story based on what I glean from your writings!

Thank you! I'm looking forward to being able to nerd out with everyone here 8D

I recognized it! lol

And neat! :D I look forward to seeing your designs if you do! I just went back and saw your comment in the "Your Saber Pictures" Thread. The saber you posted there looks awesome! I'm so happy to have been your random choice of where to start in reading the fanfiction section lol. Also saw the recommendations from some of the others there. I'm so happy people are enjoying it :') I just got home from anniversary celebration, so I'm working on the last part of the 12th chapter now. It's a long one x_x

Hello and welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing your complete Cosplay design.

Thanks! I look forward to seeing it to XD None of the cosplays I've done previously have involved armor building, so this is a new realm for me. My best friend builds armor for cosplays though, so she's giving pointers and guiding me through the process. I may end up doing multiple versions of the breastplate (one feminized and one traditional to original game design)

Oh wow timing! Thank you for the suggestion! I actually live on the same street as Degobah Temple/Saber Craft in Miami, but it would be cool to meet other saber enthusiasts in Florida as well.

UPDATE: My scene partner and I got asked today to perform our duet for the upcoming departmental recital next Thursday, October 11th, so I'll post a livestream link once it gets closer if anyone would like to hear some Rigoletto. No idea what else will be on the program, but there's usually a good variety representing all of the different sections of the music department.

Hello and welcome to the forum and the addiction, Lady Revan.  Looks like you're already have a good start into your collection and I like that you have premium sound for most of your sabers which is much needed in my opinion but of course, the stunts have their uses as well since you can always spin and work on choreography without the sound.  I have to say that I am impressed by your resume, working on becoming a professional opera singer will dabbling into video games.  I'm a gamer myself ad play on console (XBox One X) but I do have a gamer tower and laptop that I play with my buddies either in a LAN party or through Steam.  We're more of an FPS type of gamer but do play a little bit of rpgs, not much, but a bit.

Since you're into combat, there's a saber combat and artistry section but I'm pretty sure you've already come across them:

http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?board=14.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?board=14.0)

http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?board=38.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?board=38.0)

Our resident Masters like Master Venturous, Master Resolute, and Master Graestar have one of the best tutorials and videos for you to check out.  They're also really active and will aid and guide you with any questions that you may have.

I also look forward to seeing your cosplay work when you're done, the wife and I are working on costumes as well.  There's lots of cosplayers on here so be sure to check out that section of the forum as well, you can find it here:
http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?board=16.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?board=16.0)

I look forward to seeing your Savior and Butcher sabers when they arrive!

Hello! Thank you so much for your welcome. It's nice to meet you! I agree that sound is important--and much more fun when you're performing choreography as opposed to learning. I've found that the Combat Choreography actually has a lot of practical applications to opera (I might even get to choreograph a dual scene in our mainstage opera this year since there's a dual between the tenor and the baritone in the score! Probably won't be using lightsabers for the actual scene in context, since I don't think that the director will choose to set it in a lightsaber wielding universe, but it will still be cool) Only consol I use currently for gaming is Occulus Rift (which is still technically through my computer).

I've browsed the section but not had much time to look at things in depth. I'll definitely check out the tutorials of the people you've recommended though.

Maybe I'll post a WIP of the costume in the next couple days. Unfortunately I have to wait for weekends to do all of the paint work and sealing, since I'm in an apartment and my balcony is too small to lay out the paint stuff. I'm also forcing my boyfriend to dress as Carth, but his costume is significantly easier to piece together (especially since we decided to go for Carth's look in the comics). What costumes are you and your wife currently working on?

I'll be sure to post pictures when they do arrive. I've been wanting a Butcher style saber since before I even knew ultra sabers existed, so I splurged on the diamond controller when they announced that one (which was right in time, since they announced it the same day I started looking for saber options for this specific cosplay). I wanted to be able to change the color of the Savior though (without having to splurge on either emerald or diamond for the same order x_x) to account for the shift from blue to red depending on the point in the timeline so I went with the color discs. I've read a few tutorials on getting good color out of them, but I'll admit I'm a little paranoid they'll get stuck in the hilt or something like that given my luck...

Also update: I ordered my first double bladed today. Got the Sentinel Staff. I'm thinking they might be good separately for spinning practice too, since I have tiny hands but like big hilts >.<

You're welcome and it's nice to meet you as well!  I agree, combat choreography and spinning has a lot of applications that one can use especially with sabers. You're probably dong this but I recommend practicing with both hands so saber work can flow better. I've been practicing on my non-dominant hand and it's pretty challenging to say the lease but slowly and surely, I'm getting there.  I've always wanted to get into VR but will wait until more main titled games get into the mix, otherwise, I can't justify buying a $400.00 headset that I'll hardly use and motion sickness is another concern. I've tried my buddy's VR and after 15 to 20 minutes, I had to stop since it started making me sick.  I'm told that you'll get used to it overtime so I'll dabble in it in the near future.

Definitely check out those sections at your leisure, you'll find lots of good content and training videos to help get you started.  They even have staff training for your new Sentinel staff, congrats on that by the way.

I look forward to seeing your costume when you get it done.  I understand trying to paint in an apartment, it's not the easiest thing to do by any means so take your time.  The wife and I are working on Yoruichi Shihouin for the wife and Ichigo Kurosaki's cosplay for me from the Anime, Bleach.  I'm also working on a Gray Jedi costume as well, the wife isn't really into Star Wars so she may not do anything related even though I've been trying to get her into the cosplay with me.  We also plan to do a Sword Art Online cosplay together as well.  Will definitely post pictures once we get done with the costumes, weapons, and accessories.

I don't blame you for ordering the Butcher with a Diamond controller, I bet that'll be imposing when you get it.  I noticed you mentioned getting colored discs, did you order an Aegean Silver saber?  If so, lots of us ordered swatch books from Lee filters, they come in 1x2 samples that you can cut 1" diameter circles to place on top of your LED for a more vivid color.

Here's some examples of sabers using Lee filters: http://saberforum.com/Themes/Dark-f/images/post/xx.gif (http://saberforum.com/Themes/Dark-f/images/post/xx.gif)

You can order them here: http://shop.leefiltersusa.com/LEE-Swatch-Books_c4.htm (http://shop.leefiltersusa.com/LEE-Swatch-Books_c4.htm)

There's also Roscolux swatch books that members have used as well, I plan on ordering a set to try out: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/45189-REG/Rosco_950SBLUX0103_Roscolux_Swatchbook.html (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/45189-REG/Rosco_950SBLUX0103_Roscolux_Swatchbook.html)

Between all the filters and the colored discs, you'll find the colors that you want.
Congrats again on your new staff, I also look forward to seeing that.

Hello Matt!

Thank you for the welcome!

I do not have a channel for my singing for the reasons I listed in my intro post, but I’ll be sure to link livestreams as they happen. There will be one a week from today where I will be singing the duet from Rigoletto. My boyfriend’s channel might have some recordings of things we’ve done together though, so I’ll check and get back to you.

UPDATE: he does not. Only ensemble thing he has posted is with a different soprano

Oh that’s a given! Especially since I like big hilts XD haven’t built up the strength yet in my wrists to have enough control for single handed.

As for the VR, different games have different comfort levels. I have motion sickness issues as well, but there are certain games that don’t trigger (like beat saber, fruit ninja, or I expect you to die). Other games (like Skyrim and Valkyrie) are rated as “intense” and are bad for people with motion sickness though. What I’ve found helps with the more intense games are acupressure therapy bands. You can get them online or at pharmacies. The ones I have also use aromatherapy to help ease nausea, but they’re a child size for my tiny wrists, so I’m not sure where you could find them in adult size with the additional aromatherapy.

Thanks for the congratulations! I think I might have to end up getting shorter blades for the staff in the future though. Not sure how the 32 inch will work with my height when it extends in both ways.

I look forward to seeing the pictures of your and your wife’s costumes when they’re finished!

I was styling the wig last night, but I think I still want to thin out the side bangs a little to give it a more natural look (there’s one specific avatar who has always been the look for the character in my head). I can possibly post outfit minus breastplate, bracers, mask, and waist piece later tonight (cloak would be tied for that though since there’s no breastplate to stitch it to yet).

And yes, savior I got in Aegean Silver so I could have a cheaper option for changing between blade colors.

I’ll definitely look into the swatches. I’ve heard a good red is difficult to achieve with the discs, so hopefully it will be a bit easier with those.

I’ll try to post pics of all my sabers soon too (maybe waiting for at least the sentinel staff to arrive)

Welcome to the forum Lady Revan, you have quite the arsenal of sabers. And make sure to post a review of your Butcher and Savior when they come in.
I’ll be sure to do so! Ordered on the day they were announced (because it happened to be the same exact day I started looking for sabers for my new cosplay project), so hopefully I’ll be among the first of the pre-ordered to go out

I've honestly wielded some of the other guy's hilts and although I like some design, the felt a little flimsy to me. Maybe because I have large hands, I'm not sure but I like the way that UltraSabers' hilts feel. The Aeon/Dominix and the Sentinel hilts are by far one of the most comfortable hilts to duel, spin, and wield.

Good to know, I never gotten motion sickness until the last couple of years and the VR will get to me after some time. I've been reading up on good motion sickness remedies and there's just so many stuff to choose from so it's good to know someone with experience first hand. Thanks, I think I'll pickup that wristband and try it out the next time I get into some VR gameplay.

For someone your height and using a staff, I recommend the 24" blades since the dual Sentinels are better nice size in length, you'll still have the reach and whatnot without it feeling too short for you.

I will definitely post pictures of our costumes. I may start a thread as soon as we get all the materials in and begin our costume building.  Will let you and those that are interested know.

I look forward to seeing what you have so far. I like looking at new costumes and getting ideas on how certain things are put together or what materials are used and shaped to mimic the original product.

You'll love the Aegean Silver blade, it's really vibrant and bright.  Once you get into playing around with colored disks and swatch book filters, it's like trying new candy since you get to play around with the different colors, seeing what you like and don't like.  I've heard that people also mix colored disks as well to look for different mixes or combine two of the same color to get a darker color. It's all up to how you want your colors set up.

Welcome to the forums. It's nice to have another singer on here.

And I also agree with what Infinite said about the 24 inch blades. I'm 5'11" and that's what I use for my staff work, as it feels more comfortable and faster to wield.

I have teeny tiny baby hands, so a lot of the more fun designs are difficult for me to use for spins and the like (I can hold them fine, but outside of two handed it gets shaky)

I was skeptical about the wristbands until I tried them, but they are SUPER helpful for games like Skyrim. I used to only be able to play 15 minutes at a time, but now I can go over an hour

I’ll try the 24 inch! I’m just under 5’1” so Blade length can be a real problem for me. I just got the shipment notice today. Should receive my sentinel on Tuesday

So far this is most (cloak is a little awkward without having the breastplate to attach). Missing breastplate, bracers, belt/sash, and mask. Wig needs to be thinned out on the sides to look more natural. Sabers standing in are Emperor’s hand in violet amethyst and Electrum wind in sentinel yellow

One of the knights at my local saber temple has an Aegean Silver she brought to the meeting tonight and it was GORGEOUS! I’m really excited!

Great pics LadyRevan - that almost exactly matches how I envision Halin Chan.  So much creativity you've got there, music, writing, costumes, sabre artistry clearly the Force is flowing through you strongly!

Thanks! There’s a specific avatar I have in my head for Revan, which is the same one I used for Halin when I did her play through (using same one for “Gwen” who will be re-programmed Halin in Part III, but that’s a long way off lol). It’s why I wanted to do a wig instead of my natural hair. I’ve recently discovered that disclosure of gender is not required in the form for Saber Guild and Darth Revan is an approved canon character, so I may tweak some stuff and submit it eventually to see what happens XD means I have to step up the game on my detailing for the breastplate though.

I understand, I have large hands so the EH and the Consular fits perfectly one or two handed although I prefer one.  Speaking of large hilts, I've always wondered how large the Electrum Wind was until I saw you wielding it with your EH.  It's rather large, is it comfortable?  I've been wanting to order one myself but have seen it and never could gauge how big was it was since most people note that it's pretty hefty.

I look forward to seeing the Sentinel, as you know, shipping is pretty quick once you receive notice that its on its way, US is really quick about getting the sabers to us.

The cloak looks great, without your armor and all, you remind me of a darker version of Red Riding Hood, a Sith version. Lol.  Just kidding, hopefully that wasn't offensive.  Your current setup without the armor still looks good, Sith all the way. I look forward to seeing it altogether and with the Butcher and the Savior to make it complete.

I honestly didn't know about AS until I've seen pictures and videos of it and I knew that I wanted a saber with that color even if I'll never change the color on it.  Igniting mine for the first time sure put a smile on my face, it'll happen for you too.

I'm a tenor and grew up with mostly classic rock music, so that is my preferred genre. Bands like Styx, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Genesis, and Queen are where I spend most of my time vocally, but I also delve into newer stuff like Savage Garden, Linkin Park, all the way to HIM.

And if you're just under 5'1", I would say start with 24 inch blades and see how they feel. They can always be shortened later. And if you ever decide to just use one hilt, you'll be happier with a 24 than a 16 inch blade.

Electrum wind is pretty big, but very light. It doesn’t have a nice dip in the hilt to use for flourishes like there are on some of the other hilts. Other saber I have in the pics is Emperor’s Hand, do you can sort of see the size comparison. I got the more body design for the black part near the pommel, so that also increases the size some. The black near the emitter is super grip friendly, but it does increase friction a bit. It’s pretty big, but comfy for even smaller hands because it’s so shockingly light compared to a lot of others (even though you can see it’s bigger than EH, it’s much lighter than it also)

Arrival says Tuesday, but several of my others have arrived a day before the estimated delivery. It won’t come in time for class on Saturday, unfortunately, but it’s nice that we can order and get sabers in less than a week.

Thanks! Lol And none taken. You’re actually not the first person to compare something I’ve worn with a dark Sith little red riding hood... though the last time my hood was actually red lol. I’m going to do a lot of the painting tonight. I pointed out to my boyfriend that we have less than a month to finish if we want to use them for Halloween, and his backyard is the only place really where I can safely paint without worrying about fumes. If we can get his Carth costume in any semblance of order by tonight, I’ll do pics of his too. Only thing I’m building for him is shoulder pads and maybe a belt buckle, but we need to paint his blaster pistols so they’re not white and orange.

I look forward to seeing it! The person I mentioned’s was so pretty, I know I won’t be disappointed.

Very nice! If you have any public recordings, LMK, though I completely understand if you do not.

This is true. With breakaway I would just have saber daggers at that point lol. I guess it will all be a matter of trial and error.

Good to know about the Electrum Wind and thank you for that. I'll still get it then, the size alone put me off a bit since I thought it was going to be on the heavy side as well.  It's a beautiful saber and I would have to hate to pass up on owning it.  Good to know that's lighter than the EH, I have a Consular and the EH is heavier than that one as well but I still love my EH, it's still comfortable regardless.

I look forward to seeing them, my sabers came a few days early each time as well, one of the many things that I love about US.

It's not a bad thing one bit, you can always cross cosplay one of these days and make a Sith or Dark Jedi Riding Hood, that would be Epic.  And have your boyfriend dress up as the 'Big Bad wolf" who is a Jedi... Lol.  I notice that you like to dabble with making your own costumes and customizing them, it's really cool. I like doing it on my own but can't really sow so I normally have my wife do it.  She hates painting but I love it so I do that part of it.  Win/win

Sadly, most sites wouldn't allow me to upload them due to copyright laws, since they are essentially covers. I could email the original files if you like, just can't upload them anywhere.

Agreeing with everyone else, those are nice pics. Have you done much cosplay at all? If so, who is your favorite character to portray?

My pleasure! It's always nice to hear about hilts from people with personal experience with them instead of trying to guess.

Same! I love how fast they are....

I got a little bit of the painting done tonight and the mask I ordered for a reference came today. Worst case scenario, if I cannot finish building mine I'll use it, but The proportions seem super awkward to me and it's too large over all (it adjusts small enough, but makes my head disproportionately big and doesn't allow me to look downward because it's too long for my neck and hits my collarbone. Will post pictures soon

I got your PM! I'll send a reply once I get a chance to listen.

I've done a little bit, but this is probably the most detailed I'm doing. I've done some original steampunk costumes, an elf, Octavia from MLP (it was a cosplay duo with my best friend who did Vinyl Scratch--they're the musician background pony roommates), Bloom from Winx Club, multiple different variations of Christine Daaé from the Phantom of the Opera, and Missy from Doctor Who. I've debated an Aeryn Sun cosplay (Farscape) before also, but thought it would be better if I could get a group for it... which I've not been able to do so far.

That's awesome that you have done Missy from Dr. Who. I haven't seen very many people cosplay as her and she's totally worthy of it. Also, nice job on painting the blasters. Styling your own weapons is super fun and rewarding.

UPDATE: I was carrying them both without blades to class today and they’re actually about the same weight. EW feels lighter with blade in because it balances really well

Missy was super fun to cosplay--definitely one of my favorites! Plus, her costume is very useful because The pieces were re-usable for other things (when we do smaller opera scenes programs, we often have to costume our own characters).

Thanks! Both hand guards and one bracer are nearly finished, but the breastplate has been kicking me to the curb with the amount of detailing involved. It's going to be an EVA foam sealed in Worbla with metallic painting in six shades (gold, bronze, rose gold, silver, steel, and black) with partial covering in black vinyl leather. x_x I may or may not get to the bask before the first time I wanted to use it. I have a cheap backup one I ordered for referencing to build a mask, but it's awful XD

That....is adorable.

ISN’T IT!? Originally they were going to re-use costumes and be Leia and an Ewok... but then I thought: “what if they had KotOR costumes too!?”

that is going to be great! please post pics!

Oh, I will! Not sure yet how they’ll turn out, since I’ve never built cat costumes.... but then again, this is my first time building armor too, so we’ll just hope for the best XD

other KotOR costume options for them (based on their personalities and sizes) would have been the big fluffy one as Zalbaar and the little scrappy one as Mission... but I don’t even know where I would have started with a cat twilek costume x_x

As promised, here is the livestream link. Performance begins at 3:30 Eastern US time if you want to watch live, and there will be other musicians representing other parts of the department as well (no idea though what types, so there might be some super experimental stuff on it). Anyway, I will be singing Gilda in the Duet from Rigoletto. I’m not sure where in the program I’m going to be. If you miss it live, you can also go back and rewatch the archive of the performance later on.

For me KOTOR and TFU are both on the top of the list when it comes to rating SW games  :D

I'll be sure to check on your progress for that costume.

Glad you're enjoying the forum and the great community we have here  ;D

KOTOR was the first PC game I ever distinctly remember playing (I'm sure there were others that possibly existed before that, but I don't remember them if they existed), so it has always held a special place in my heart, and remains my favorite game to date.

Hello Jaymes, and thank you for the welcome! I've always been a huge KOTOR nerd, hence the name.

I'm glad to hear that your Sia is okay. Fur babies are precious.

I'll be sure to post videos once I can. I have a couple of short clips from practices, but nothing particularly interesting at the moment.

It is a pleasure meeting you.

No worries post when you are ready but there is a lot of people that will help you here, so many experienced spinners and from the combat end. Everyone starts from knowing little to nothing but become so much more by helping each other, and we have each others back🤛

I uploaded as unlisted a couple of vids from learning an unarmed choreography (one person attacking and the other dodging), so I might go post those. They're not super interesting, but they're the only ones I have right now (we were learning it in a park and the Master offered to film for us, since this particular set of movements is near impossible to practice without a partner).

All right, I posted it in the artistry section... but it's not the most interesting of choreographies. I had an idea for a longer choreography set involving it and several others (including the end of the Episode VI Luke VS Vader duel) for a full scene.... but that requires recruiting and teaching a second person, and then filming.
