I want to see some collections all sparked up. So charge them batteries and show us what you got.

Got the whole group lit up, with the exception of my DSI. I'm doing my first activation box and complete electronics overhaul. The Mrs. pregnancy pillow made a nice prop.

Whoa! I'm thoroughly impressed by your collection and you can keep showing them off time and time again and it'll still have the same effect. I have quite a few sabers out of commission and awaiting to get worked on but when I do get time this week or weekend, I'll pull mine all out for a "Photo-shoot" but I'm afraid they won't be as grand as yours. 

It's not about how many you got, it's about showin out what you got. We all started somewhere. Whether it's 3 or 30 I want to see your lighted collection.

Great idea and cool pictures! Here are a couple I found on my phone from the last con that I never posted. The convention floor lighting doesn’t do justice to the lit up blades, but still fun to show off a small fraction on the our school colors. I still have plans to overhaul my Jedi samurai display this winter. I’ll be sure to get some lit up shots of my personal arsenal when that project is complete.

This is an awesome idea, I'll play.  Here are all my sound equipped sabers; I couldn't figure out a good way to get the stunts in the shot too.  Clearly, I have a Problem and need help.

I wish it looked as good as it does in person, but all the blades just overwhelm the camera.  I hadn't fired up all of them at once in quite a while, so thanks for the excuse!  Great pics so far, thanks to all those who have shared and I look forward to seeing the collections to come!

Shameful whisper: I have more, they're just not placed near the main display so they were useless to me for this thread.  Thank goodness for efficient and simple solutions like cue racks, if I had to install individual mounts for each saber I'd never have time to do anything else given my obvious lack of impulse control.  Curse UltraSabers and their near constant sales!

I have decided from this thread that I need to do another lightsaber addiction movie but this time tracks around to see with some of the hardcore collectors from the forum. Makes me feel like me and my AFA friends that I featured just have a light habit. Hmmm... wonder how to clear this idea with the Mrs of traveling the world, get a month or so off work and then secure needed funding (even though I have no real film making experience)?  I have a lot to think about!

Nice collection MNewell, and nice photo composition too!  I'm a big fan of the Sentinel/Apprentice hilts, and that FO Crimson Scorpion doesn't sound like a combination that should work, but it clearly works very well.  Thanks for sharing!

Zren, your custom looks sweet (very elegant), I absolutely love the kitbashed Shock, and I'm always happy to see an example of the underappreciated Overlord.  Yours is also a most excellent array of laser swords!

Therion,  everytime I see your collection, let alone your Sentinel, Raven, and Dark Initiate staffs, I'm always in awe and wonder.  Your collection's impressive and your custom and weather work is in a league of it's own.  And all of the different blade colors are a future goal of mine.

Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, I was going to vacuum anyway. ;) I'm taking some time off work before we get into the holiday season, (it starts early when you work retail) so I'm doing some cleaning.


The only saber I have in that group that can go red is the Dark Sentinel, which has RGB with six built in color presets. I set it to red and green mixed (kind of an oragne-ish yellow) for symmetry purposes. However, no, I'm not a big fan of red blades. I got one red saber from Ultrasbers, that was my very first order, a grab bag Initiate LE V4 in blazing red. I prefer my blues and greens and yellows. I do need to buy (or build) more violet sabers, though.


I took that pic with HDR turned on. It's a dumb iPhone camera, so it's lacking on options, but I was able to get at least that much to work. ;)


Heh, you have no idea how hard it was to get those Aeon V2s to stay where they were for the pic, because the chair legs are rounded.

I can tell, I only have one red blade and that's my Dominix .  My favs are SRD, VA, and SY myself.   

I have one saber that's red and doesn't have a RGB LED. Can't say what it is, though. ;)

I know, it took a while, but here's my current collection minus 2

These are my "to build or fix list"  The Graflex SE and Dark Shock Body are empty.  The Standard Issue is on the "to fix" list since it won't power on.  The Archon v3.1 is also on that list to fix.  And then there's my Dark Shock pommel awaiting a new body (incoming soon)  ;D

My Standard Issue Saber was one of the sabers that was on my "To build or fix" list but I had time between taking the first picture of my fix or build list and decided to take it apart.  Found a loose positive wire and re-soldered it, it came to life. Needless to say, that I was really happy it was a simple fix.  I just needed to find time to do so and it was after the above picture that I pulled out my tools and got to work...    ;)

Thanks DarthBone!  That means a lot to me coming from someone with an incredible collection such as yours.  Yes, my Shock body has the Guardian Pommel, this project will be a black and gold hilt in the future so stay tuned.  I have an idea for the Shock pommel, just need to order another body for it along with an emitter

Yes, I will try my jab at weathering and adding leather to some of these hilts, will update as I move along.  I want to get the Shock and Graflex up and running soon as well.

Echoing others, nice collection Infinit01!  I see you like the Aeon/Initiate V4 pattern; isn't it wonderful when a "basic" design just works for you?  Also, an Archon 3.1 in orange is not a combination I ever would have expected to see but it certainly looks interesting and I'm glad to have seen it.  Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, ktulu!  Yes, The Aeon/Nix/Initiate are my favorite original sabers to spin and duel with.  They're just so comfortable and aesthetically pleasing at the same time.  I have plans for the Archon to convert it to CG so it won't stay FO for long.

A lot of people use these for that reason. I love the big blue C that's housing most of the sabers in this pic. It helps me sleep like a baby. So yes, we both have a maternity pillow to sleep with.

I think it is also a nice guide to blade reach, as they are all 36 inch blades, with the savior having the longest reach and if not for the bullet tip the graflex the shortest reach by a bit more obvious margin.

Thanks! This pic though is missing my Butcher and Savior, and the two halves of my Sentinel staff aren't lit up (because I need to charge the batteries :P )

Butcher and Savior are going to be on my small rack (4 slots) once I put it up instead of the broom holders that have most of the things. I'll probably also connect the staff and put it up there two. I've been thinking of saving up to get a second Savior for practical purposes for Saber Guild (Butcher isn't Manageable dual wielding unless I weight the pommel or lighten the blade--it's too front heavy and doesn't take well to pulling back >.< ).

Once Spectre and Prize saber come in and I get the small rack up (and charge the batteries for the staff) I'll post a new pic.

My faves to wield are the Savior and my Frankensaber (Arctic Blue in Picture). The Sentinels are also nice and comfy. Dark Initiate is nice, but I prefer a little longer hilts

I've become more fond of slightly shorter hilts, so your Dark Apprentice stands out to me. I just ordered one in the Black Friday promo, I'm excited to try it out.

I just realized that I actually need to update my signature some lol.

Not gonna lie, I was mildly disappointed that it's so "normal" looking, but it's super comfy to wield with the emitter neck. It works surprisingly well with dual sabers. You could technically build one yourself from the saber pieces. It's the War glaive body with Archon V2.1 Emitter and neck, and the Raven SS Edition Pommel. Only thing I don't like is the guarded switch. It's because of the switch that I actually prefer it one handed to two.

Dark apprentice is a nice hilt. It's short, but not too short, so if you need to two hand things you can. My least favorite hilt is probably the initiate because of the guarded switch on a short hilt meaning it's going to constantly dig into your hand
>.< Plus it's too small to reasonably two-hand---and I have teeny tiny baby hands, so that's saying something.

Be sure to post pics of your Dark Apprentice when you get it! Mine is on the far right in the picture, in Fire Orange

Interesting philosophy for wielding a weapon, as I have just above average size hands for a male and I quite like the Initiates for two handed comfort.  But really, it's about personal preference.  I ordered the dark Catalyst pommel with my Dark Apprentice LE for a bit more flexibility, so I imagine it'll up the Apprentice game some.  Certainly looking fwd to sharing pics.

I generally have a preference for big hilts, so really, it's whatever floats your boat. I like to have the extra room to work with in case I need to adjust my grip for whatever reason, especially if there's a covertech wheel on it. I don't like when they get front heavy though. I prefer either very balanced or with the weight in the pommel. Since I use heavy grade most of the time, the smaller hilts often end up front heavy because of the blade weight.

That's a good point, I don't use heavy blades much and if I did they'd tire me out fairly quickly. I'd need to work on my strength and endurance to use those babies.

Yup yup! When they're back heavy or balanced with the wight of the hilt, it helps. smaller lighter hilts feel like murder (in my personal opinion) with the heavy grade blades attached. Tire me out way too quickly because they end up front heavy, which is great for momentum of the attack swing, but difficult to pull back and to defend with.

To me heavy blades are more so for dueling which I don't do much of short of dueling with the padawan.  I mainly spin so there's no need for a heavy grade

Yeah, don't want to hurt the Padwan if there's missed blade contact. Most of what I use my sabers for is combat choreography, or as a self defense weapon when walking in sketchy areas, so the heavy grade ones are less likely to break if they take a harder hit. My "Padawans" are more of Apprentices (they're all 18+ Dudes except for one girl who is my size and who is actually has the most accuracy and finesse among them when it comes to choreography), and some get way too into it, not realizing their own strength (I frequently have to remind them that they're not actually trying to hurt anyone, just to make it look like they're kicking each other's butts).

Well, after that fab display I wanted to update my setup. but, one had dead batteries, two are on the workbench, one hasn’t shipped yet(v5), and two haven’t been delivered by “Santa”. In any case, light ‘em all up...😑.

Whoa Gumby. I'm always impressed when I see your wall of sabers. The Manticore is my favorite and it's not just because it has an SRD blade!!!! Well, maybe half of the reason..  ;D Love it man, have a point!

Hi Everybody, having seen all these great collections has made me want to get in on the action and try something. But not having any qualifying hilts mine are all CGI but would anybody object to me putting up a picture of part of my virtual collection?...(I think it's still pretty!)

Thanks! I think I'm going to need to get more broom holders soon though to put more up lol. I had exactly enough for what is currently mounted. Looks like my return is going to come sooner rather than later, so I'll probably participate in the raffle and get my second savior for my Revan cosplay. Gonna ask for the covertech on the opposite side though so I can hang them both facing forward lol.
