I am planning to purchase a saber as Christmas to myself. I am eyeing the Initiate v5 with the Sunrider's Destiny LED. What is THE BEST blade to get for this color if i want to do any dueling? Now that US doesn't glue the blade film, my usual wrinkle warning for heavy dueling is not applicable. However being a heavy dueler myself, it is much easier and less noticeable to sand out the scuff marks from an UEHG blade without changing the original look much. You can always expect to get scuff marks anytime you heavy duel and if you sand them out of a regular HG blade, it will change the look of the blade completely to be frosty looking that is no longer transparent. Which ends up looking similar to an UE blade just not as white (more silveryish). I do keep one sanded HG blade on a weathered hilt I have because it does compliment the worn look. However if you don't mind scuffs on your blade or plan to switch out blades when dueling vs when displaying then this may not be an issue for you.
