I'm surprised no-one else picked up on this, but they did release a trailer for the new Clone Wars at Celebration.

I saw it right after GOT and before  I went to bed.  Didn't have chance to post about it.  I might just sub to Disney+ long enough to binge Clone Wars and The Mandalorian.

Looks good and can't wait. Disney+ is getting better and better

Disney+ will be worth it just for TCW, Mandalorian (TM), and the Marvel shows are just a bonus.

Okay.... so she returns to The Order? Why? They explained exactly WHY and HOW she survives Order 66(wasn't a Jedi, therefore wasn't on the radar), so now they have to find another way she survives? I'm assuming her clones are special ones without chips(hence "experimental") that simply won't turn on her, because they can't be forced to, but still. Why establish canon simply to go "lol nope" later?

All this was already done years ago, they were just given the green light to finish it.  This is the Siege of Mandalore and they have dropped info about it here and there within Rebels and mostly in the Ahsoka novel.  She does not return to the Order but is basically working for the Rebel Mando's who are against Maul and Death Watch's rule.  Before the Siege begins in earnest Obi-Wan and Anakin are called away to rescue Palpatine (beginning of EP III).  Rex and his platoon are left to assist Ahsoka.  While engaging Maul in a duel Order 66 is enacted and the clones, (except for Rex who was one of the few to remove their chips) turned on Ahsoka allowing Maul to escape.  Rex and Ahsoka fought their way free, faked their deaths and went into hiding.

What Tepes said.  This should give us a good story into what she did while she was away from the Order.

Stop making me want to watch the other seasons again. :P

Would I need to see anything other than the original clone wars seasons to understand this one?

Maybe the 2008 movie which led into the series, only if you want a little more back story to Ahsoka, other than that, I would say no.

I asked the same question of my Ahsoka fan-girl wife.  I asked if this nullifies the entire "Ahsoka" novel and the Ahsoka parts of "Rebels".  She tried to explain it to me but I think I blacked out.  In short, no it shouldn't mess up the canon with Ahsoka.

They just took it off Netflix for me a couple weeks ago, so I can't even finish it from where I was at. :'(

I have all 6 seasons of The Clone Wars on DVD and I will be looking forward to seeing this.

Yup, they took it off Netflix on April 7.  Strangely though, it appeared in my iTunes purchases on our Apple TV April 8.  That's the danger of letting your wife know your iTunes password.

No, she puts up with me...she's a GREAT wife.  She's also a bigger SW fan than I am.  She actually bought them for her, but I'm not complaining.
