Title: Proffie Pixel Ultrasabers Guardian
Post by: deevee2 on May 07, 2019, 12:11:55 PM
So just finished up this one over the weekend for my buddy for May 4th/Revenge of the 5th.

Bunch of new cool features: 1 button control for everything, localized clash/lockup, and accent swings + smoothswing!

Error 404 (Not Found)!!1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffxtbaTs904#)

You did a badass job! I know nothing about using a pixel blade or putting one together etc.. You did a great job!

I think you did a very nice job on that saber for your friend.

If you ever sell your services, i'd believe you'd have people lining up.

Point to you.

Pure awesomeness ( :

I want to retrofit a couple of my US hilts to pixel tech, perhaps that very board; although the other guys have a new smooth swing board out now as well.

Thanks again guys! I only build these for friends and family; too many horror stories about builders getting screwed out of money for me to do it as a business. I highly recommend checking out these boards if you haven't, they're revolutionary.

Curious what you would consider the difficulty level of installing as compared to an Obsidian board?  I'm guess the wiring isn't where the learning curve is but in the programming of the proffie itself, is that correct?  If you have any hints or tips to watch out for, I'm sure not only I but anyone else reading this thread would be very interested.

There's an Open Source lightsaber group on FB that is an excellent resource of info. Megtooth Sith Sabers youtube videos are also excellent. The complexity is mostly in the programming, but that is also where all of it's power and flexibility lies too. It has small pads so takes careful hands compared to some of the other stuff I've soldered to. Ultrasabers hilts are a great candidate IMO because you can now run this board with 1 button and all have all functions.

You have me interested in the proffieboard and Arduino. There are many, MANY, sites that offer instructions for lightsaber builds and program files/configurations. I just can't soldier worth a damn these days. Why couldn't they have thought of this type of thing 20 or 30 years ago?

Be careful, we are not allowed to mention competitors names here is the US forums.

Oh yeah, Ultrasabers sells empties then refuses to allow anyone to talk about what you do with them. LOL - this is why people just post on the Facebook groups now where you can freely talk about things.

This board is paid for by UltraSabers. Why would you expect them to allow competitors’ products to be discussed here?  Maintaining a discussion forum is not an inexpensive effort, in either money or time.

Like you said, there are other places to discuss these things.

Your point only makes sense if they didn't sell empty hilts. They don't sell their boards separately, besides Obsidian, so what would you put inside your empty hilt? Hopes and dreams? LOL

You and I obviously have a different understanding of how businesses work. Let’s leave it at that.

I want to take a moment to commend you both and give you points for debating a topic without resorting to personal attacks.  This is how mature people discuss opposing viewpoints.  Hope this becomes more prevalent than how I have seen others react recently. Kudos to you both! +1 each

I have a Savior stunt build that I've been wanting to upgrade to neopixel.  Do you have a tutorial on how to go about doing so? I have the knowledge on how to soldier etc. I just am not sure what all I need for it and best execution.

Thanks.
