Title: Customizing Help
Post by: dlujan on March 25, 2020, 05:17:27 PM
I just received my first Mystery Box lightsaber and it was a Aeon V4 with an Av switch (no Sound). For my first saber it great and I was wondering if anyone knows if I am able to customize some of the parts, and if so which ones are compatible?

Hey there, dlujan. The pommel is MHS compatible so you can use extensions and pommels from TCSS to extend the saber. Other than that, you can weather the saber, wrap, change the AV switch, etc. depending on your electrical and soldering experience, you can always changed the LED color, AV switch, etc.

I did a video a while back of some simple mods you can apply to any saber:

Ooh, very nice!  Thanks for the demo of some of these simple and inexpensive customizations.  It may seem super-simple to you, but to someone like me, who is still afraid to make modifications to my 12-year-old vehicle because I have “new-car-itis,” this REALLY helps me feel more comfortable with making modifications to a saber.

Ah but the REAL sickness starts when you start to alter your saber! Check out both of my builds below to see what these sage customizers have taught me.

With your saber, I also suggest looking upSedsti Skyfallers thread for his 3D printed shrouds! You can see one on my dark apprentice along with th vustom grip shroud

I looked at the two sabers in your signature, and I’m impressed... will there be a video or a step-by-step text/picture walkthrough of the process?

And HOW IN THE WORLD did you manage to cut the can of Axe Body Spray into a useful shape without gagging from the overpowering “aroma” of the contents?

One of the easiest ways to make an Aeon pop is with a custom pommel and add some color.   Many folks use paint, others tape or o-rings, some etch.   Whatever you're comfortable with.

I started with an Aeon much like yours.   Below are the before and afters.   There's a thread in here showing the whole evolution, but all I did was add a custom pommel and some paint.   :-)

Aeon V4s are pretty open. Good to just do your own thing with and make 'em yours.

Hi Firehand10K,

Wow! Now I haven't seen sabers like this for....ever! The activation boxes are sweet but I've never seen a regular hilt have the covertech mounted at their midpoint. How do they feel/affect your grip?

point for the share

They were put there specifically to be non-interfering with my grips but still be able to be worn on my belt with up to a 32 inch blade installed for cons and events. Also they are my primary fighting sabers for dueling with the Saber Legion, so they need to be able to take a severe beating while not interfering and looking good.

Well, again that is genius - I'd never have thought of it. Anyhow great pair of hilts

Uh, they are pretty nice!

And as I see, I recently have ordered two Aeon V4 LE as a Phantasm V4 staff. My daughter had chosen them and I was not so happy about, but now... I believe I have to say thanks to her.
