Any one try using the liquid bed liner stuff on a hilt , I have used it on the company fleet it holds up real good applies with a roller or brush and comes in colors

In ye old dark ages US used to sell PVC hilts and I've seen at least one in person using that stuff on it.

First, we're going to specify that this is regarding pickup truck bed liners.

Second, historically it's been found than anything short of anodizing the hilts will wear off over time. Unless, I suppose, you put the color on and then never touch it again.

I'm really surprised I didn't get any strange results when I typed "liquid bed liner" into Google, *whew*.  ;D

To the OP, you're certainly onto something in that spray on formulas like that are made for heavy duty, but as Sakura said it won't last forever. Are you dueling with your saber? I mean if you're just interested in display and light wear and tear then it should last a long time.

Ok, if it strikes your fancy to try it I would check out some review videos on the different brands. If it can handle being scraped up on the bed of truck really well then I can't see it having any problems with the friction from hands and being dinged every now and then from a blade.

That stuff is usually designed to be pretty high friction.  If you roll the hilt in your hand a lot (like doing spins) I could see it being tough on the hand.
