Title: image resizing tool
Post by: Jedi_Phoenix on June 14, 2020, 01:29:10 PM
Salutations, friends and neighbors....

Well, some of the more seasoned and savvy among us might already know about something like this, but I was looking for a tool that would help me shrink down the photo I wanted for my profile pic, and I found a real nice, user friendly site over at https://resizeimage.net/.  I think it'll come in handy for me when I go to post photos of my sabers when I get them and not have them be these huge photos that take up a ton of room on the page.  Thought I'd share it with the rest of the forum for anyone who might be looking for something easy to use.  😎

Other than bandwidth concerns, is there something bad about large images?

Nothing bad at all, IMO.  Some might have a personal preference, though.   You never know.  🤷‍♂️

Okay.  Just checking, because my preference is generally for larger rather than smaller, so long as the image is not so large as to make me have to scroll left and right to see it all.  Like you say, though, preferences do differ.

As i have posted just a few images of saber concept art my choice is to use imgur it's s free and allows you to keep orig image size and gives you choice of thumbnail sizes for forum posts

+1 on using Imgur here.  I won’t use PhotoBucket because it puts this really noticeable watermark across the center of the photo, which I find incredibly distracting.

I'm using imgur for storage as well, but I didn't know it let you do thumbnails.   Ya learn something new every day!
