This is my current Jedi costume. Pretty traditional.  This is Master Rozian Dane.

Just starting on a Sith character and costume.   Gonna have fun as I feel there is more room to play.  Let’s see your Jedi and Sith costumes

This looks incredible! Did you make the costume yourself? It sure has that classic look to it, great choices for the color combos.

Outstanding ensemble, DR!  Your tunic fabric looks substantial yet supple and your attention to detail is remarkable!

I can't wait to see your Sith Cosplay!

Oh, and wonderful Graflex hilt  ;)

HH, stick with the color scheme you've chosen!  In fact, such details can provide interesting background information for your character  :)

To wit: both my wife and I have Gray Jedi characters; they belong to a separate order called the Vhal'Dan. ***shameless plug*** If you're interested in reading more about them, I have several entries in the fan fiction section with PLENTY of background information  ;D   Here are some helpful images for their respective ensembles courtesy of For Tyeth's assistance in creating what I'd described:

Then here's my RL Cosplay:

Awesome costume Dutch!  I’ve been toying with the idea of some KOTOR Jedi armor, I have a friend that 3D prints clone armor, and I might have to do this now.

You've got some good looking stuff there, a lot of the costumes online don't always measure up but you sure scored some nice articles.

Since sharing a costume seems to be the thing for this thread I'll throw myself into the ring, I went with a kind of reverse color combo for the tunic/tabards. Made it all myself from scratch 'cept for the boots and belt.

The outer tunic is white cotton gauze that I dyed brown with RIT dye. I got it from an online retailer after researching that gauze gives a really nice look once it's washed and shrunk a little. The Obi/Tabards are the same material and are a "Better Homes and Gardens" tablecloth that I got from Walmart. I picked it because it had a really neat thatched pattern in the fabric. I think I have an old photo somewhere.... here.

White (undyed) gauze on left, dyed gauze in the center, and the tablecloth design for the Obi/Tabards on the right. Trying to find the right kind of fabric is tricky but ultimately realizing that you can find it anywhere (like in the form of a tablecloth) and if it has a good design to it, then it'll probably work.

I’m currently working on my Sith costume and I’ve ordered a bunch of random stuff off of Wish, if it all works out I think I’ll have what I need, but if you’ve ever bought anything from Wish, it can be hit or miss, and the shipping feels like Ultrasabers, you don’t know when it’s coming and you don’t get a lot of communication 🤣

My sister uses Wish quite a bit and yeah, shipping has been measured in months lately. What kind of accessories are you getting for your Sith costume? Unlike Jedi the traditional pouches, food capsules, communicator props etc. aren't typically used for Sith, so I'm curious?

I’ve got a cool belt with pouches, black leather bracers with red leather trim, black leather gladiator shoulder pads, a black hooded scarf, a silver skull half face mask a long black Arabian shirt and skirted black linen pants with black boots. Everything but the boots are coming wish.

Hi all,

There are some great outfits on this thread. I recently started work on my own Jedi costume. I was inspired by TheDutchman's project he mentioned I helped him with and I also saw myself in a YT video from a convention I attended - I didn't know I had walked through the shot. So I realised I need a disguise!

I have a CosplaySky basic "white" costume which isn't white at all but a really nice biscuit/light tan colour. The belt and cloak will need upgrading but I need to wait a while before I buy the belt as I have a special pair of screen accurate boots on order and I need to see what shade they are first.

The big problem I think I'll have is finding some decent belt pouches. I have a pack of 10 Steadler highlighter pens to make food capsules. It's slow progress but I'm getting there.

Belt Pouches are one part of the costume where you have a lot of options, For. You could go with these, which are pretty close to the kind Obi wore in Episode 1, they're made of molded plastic and can be got online:

I got a trio of them a while back and they are pretty cool though a little clunky looking.

You can even make your own. I made a tutorial for some really basic inexpensive ones here on the forum: http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=37304.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=37304.0)

Are you going all out with the accessories like a holoprojector, communicator, and all that stuff?

Title: Re: Let’s see Your Jedi Costume
Post by: For Tyeth on June 28, 2020, 04:55:29 PM
Hi Saso,

I have already scoped out your tutorial, it was inspired (and the Capsule one).

I am aiming for the Episode 1 style pouches as I have been told I have a passing resemblance to a certain Jedi and am basing the project on him. If I can get the props I will get the Holoprojector, Rebreather and communicator (there are a few comlinks I've seen on ETSY). My main objective is to get the large parts first (and alterations made) then I can add items as I go along later.

Thanks, Darth Rage!  It's about as makeshift as you can get, but my family really helped me with their creativity.  Somewhere down the road, I'd really like to put together a Cal-Kestis-inspired outfit, kind of industrial (and I've got the red hair to pull it off, if not the thin build XD ).  What outfit are you aiming for?

I’m putting together a generic Sith outfit with a bunch of stuff I’m ordering from Wish(Always hit or miss). I’ve got a long black Arabic shirt that comes down to the knees, a pair of black skirted pants, black combat boots, black leather gladiator shoulder pads, a gothic black belt,  black and red leather bracers a hooded leather hooded cowl and I found a cool half face mask that looks like the Vader face covering, gonna try to light it with some LEDs from the inside.

When it all comes in I’ll post some pics.

Reporting in for duty here

My OC, Venn K'Tahlis, ex/grey/rogue Jedi Sentinel, of the Old Republic era, hunted both by the Republic and the Sith Empire, for uncovering a conspiracy and collusion and holding a secret to an artifact that may threaten the existence of the universe and time itself

My armored version is a polycarb tactical airsoft armor (just found out it was a cheap knock off Galac Tac  :-\) I weathered/painted. I sewed the black tabards out of black tablecloth. Grey tunic/robes is a kimono style pajama set which has a nice martial arts like texture and I wear the pants over my shoulders in reverse so the legs hang over my front as a shoulder vest part of the tunic haha  :D Goggles from Aliexpress. Random gloves. I'm still waiting on a hood shawl to complete my costume

Very impressive, both the story and the costume!  Almost looks like an actual promo picture for SWTOR!  I kinda favor the armorless look, but both are cool.

Linens are a great choice of fabric due to the ability to breathe, that'd kind of neat that you don't know what the finished product will look like.

I'm still waiting on a hood shawl to complete my costume

that is Awesome!!!

Inner Robes came from here and the owner was accommodating with changes of fabric (I could have chosen better): https://www.etsy.com/shop/Kenickys (https://www.etsy.com/shop/Kenickys)

I replaced my undertunic dickey with one from FFAO as it came with the same color as the rest of the robes (eew).

Outer robe came from here (fantastic work!): https://www.etsy.com/shop/EpicEnsemble?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=274306858 (https://www.etsy.com/shop/EpicEnsemble?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=274306858)

Pants: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077PT3C1N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077PT3C1N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Boots are https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AH60BU/ref=twister_B001AH60TC (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AH60BU/ref=twister_B001AH60TC)

Belt and pouches: https://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Pouches-Capsules-Costume-Accessories/dp/B011KOLEVI/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=jedi+belt+and+pouches&qid=1599763070&sr=8-2 (https://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Pouches-Capsules-Costume-Accessories/dp/B011KOLEVI/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=jedi+belt+and+pouches&qid=1599763070&sr=8-2)

All in all it wasn't TOOOOO expensive.

I am looking to further augment the outfit by creating better pouches (not to excited about what came with the set.) and I intend to "weather" my boots a bit more. I don't know if I can bare attempting to weather the outfit itself...it gives me palpitations to think of it!  :o
