Title: Hello There.
Post by: NightsisterNessa on June 26, 2020, 09:14:01 PM
Hello Everyone!
I am NightsisterNessa, you can call me that or Nessa either is fine :)
I live in Northern California. Lightsabers have been a part of my life since childhood and was amazed when the technology improved.
I finally bought my saber after many years of wanting one and watching from the shadows. I bought the Butcher LE in Blazing Red with the Diamond Controller. I am happy to be here! :)

Welcome Nessa.  Congrats on your saber.  I am still waiting on my first saber.  I chose a MB with sound.  Good choice on the Butcher.

Settle back and enjoy the anticipation of waiting on your saber; we have lots of posts to keep you busy, including pictures, video reviews, tutorials both written and video on customizing your saber, role-playing games, fanfiction, art, and lots of other things.

Keep in mind that when searching the forum, it’s generally best to search within a given thread or forum for faster searches.

Hello and welcome to the forum Nessa. I have the Azure Butcher. It's a great saber. I know you will love yours. Can't wait to checkout your pictures. Have a point for choosing such an awesome 1st saber.

Thanks! I love it! It feels great to hold and looks amazing. Now I just need to practice spins and saber forms. I ordered the Savior last night. It will be awesome to have both sabers together.

Welcome to the party.

Yes, yes, I know I'm late, there were cookies, and you know what they say about the Dark Side and cookies.

First, congratulations on your first purchase, and your second incoming purchase. I'm guessing in addition to the Night Sisters you're a Revan fan?

One thing I've always wondered, how on earth is the Butcher comfortable to hold? I'm not saying it isn't, I just cannot figure out how one would hold it that would be comfortable.

And if you haven't noticed already, we're a pretty friendly bunch, so if you have any questions, always feel free to ask, and if you're looking for specific information, there is also the forum search function. If you're doing a search, I recommend looking in the individual sub-forums as a full forum search tends to take a few minutes.

And if you need to do a full forum search, then save your self some effort, and save the forum some delays, and use Google to do the hard work, because if you do that, Google will search its indexes rather than running through the board itself, and it’ll be faster PLUS it will mean Google’s servers will be doing the work, not SaberForum servers.  A real win all around.

Go to Google and in the search bar, type

site:saberforum.com <search_term>

So if you were searching for “Diamond download” you could use this:

    site:saberforum.com diamond download

if you wanted to search for posts containing diamond and download,

            OR
    site:saberforum.com “diamond download“

if you wanted to search for that exact phrase.

Thanks! Yeah Revan is my second favourite Sith/Jedi. I can relate to him.

The Butcher can be hard to hold but I find that holding it like a katana works good. One hand in the middle where the claws are flat against the hilt (where you naturally hold it one handed) and the other on the pommel. I can try to make a video sometime and upload it to youtube showing how I do it and maybe a few other ways as well. Also gloves will help if holding closer to the emitter. All in all just practice really.

I am stubborn so when it comes to doing something difficult I keep at it and push through the pain and uncomfortableness of what I am doing or learning until I master it. I used to practice Ninjutsu.

Thanks for the info! I noticed the lag time when running searches so this is definitely helpful. Thanks again!
