Title: Found a 1999 Hasbro Lightsaber in a charity shop
Post by: cwfox9 on October 17, 2020, 03:43:55 PM
Decided to go around the charity shops while the missus had an appointment and saw it just sitting in a box of toy bits. Not bad for 50p.
Will help temper my wait for my actual Ultrasaber  ;D

Not sure if I posted this in the right area

Hi cwfox9,

Yes, the problem with imgur is that you opened the gallery page and copied the URL for the whole page not just the image. If you are using Windows you need to open the gallery then hover your cursor over the image then right click your mouse. This opens a drop down menu..from that select "Open image in new window" and your image will open up in a new window. In the address bar of the new window it should read something like https:// followed by i.imgur.com/sometitleforpicture.jpeg .
The i.imgur bit shows you have the URL for the image not the gallery.
Copy this URL and paste it between the img tags as you did before. It will look a bit like this:
(https://  i.imgur.com/sometitleforpicture.jpeg)

When you insert the tags and paste the URL there won't be any spaces, I just added those so the forum didn't try to insert a picture in this comment.
Click preview and if you have done the process correctly the image will show up, if it doesn't then double check you copied/typed the URL correctly. If the image still doesn't show you may need to delete the "S" from https: so it reads http:

Now to your picture:

I own one of these Hasbro hilts too but mine cost me more than 50p! I paid full price way back in 1999. Anyway it's a great find to keep you entertained till your real saber arrives.

p.s. If you type a new comment and click "Insert Quote" from above my comment you will be able to see how the image tags and URL should look when inserted correctly in case my explanation is confusing.ok!

Hi again, no problem -  a lot of members have the same issue using mobile devices. Unfortunately I don't know how to copy/paste and open second windows on mobile devices -  most have their own procedures within their operating system depending on make and model.

And well done supporting the "Sally Army". A Lightside point on the way to you.
