Title: Black Empress with engravings Post by: DarthRondoudou on January 07, 2021, 11:12:04 AM So, this is my review of my long awaited black empress. Initially, I ordered it without engravings. But I switched to speed up the process.
I pretty much hated the disney trilogy, but this particular saber caught my eye. And I was like : "wtf, why didn't she build this from the start during a training or something? To give an identity to the trilogy?" I was looking around for this saber and I found US made a version. Now. I'm usually not a big fan of US' take on canon sabers. But this one... I needed it. So, 6 months later here we are. It's stunning. Even with the engravings I love it. I have small hands and it fits perfectly for a one hand stance. This hilt features a black non-illuminated AV switch, a recharge port and a black covertech wheel. The engravings are nicely done and in the end I don't mind them. The emitter is insanely awesome and the windows give a really nice touch to the saber when lit up. No sharp edges. I ordered it in Fire Orange with Pyrestone Orange FOC, but it is an emerald saber, so I can change it if I want to. Here it is, lit up with the rest of the collection. For me, as soon as I saw it in the video that Emory posted on the saber, I knew I had to have the engraving. But, to each their own. Well, I wanted it as close to the movie as possible. And I thought I'd wrap it anyway.BUT I had to wait a while. And when they asked if I wanted to swap for an engraved one to ship sooner, I said ok. I do not regret it. But I still haven't wrapped it ^^'. I did get the Spectre with engravings as first choice, since it was a no brainer for me when I saw it. Sometimes I want to go for accuracy, other times I want to get something just because it looks cool, accurate or not. But that's why Ultrasabers has so many choices. If I ever get a Spectre, it's going to have to have the engraving, it looks just as good on that hilt as it does this one.
