Title: Ahsoka Tano Malice
Post by: JdiKnhtJMH on February 10, 2011, 06:13:29 AM
I'm hoping to get a Malice from the grab bag and turn it into an Ahsoka saber, because she's easily my favorite new star wars character. The Malice will have a blue blade, which I'm going to switch into a Dark Apprentice red hilt. After that I'm going to customize the empty malice, and later purchase another grab bag with a green LED, put the green LED in my Ahsoka model, and put the Red LED in the new grab bag. Complicated process, I know. Annnnyhow, here's Ahsoka's saber:

I'm thinking I can attach a hand tightening plastic plumbing cap I found which has two protrusions on either side, to the emitter, and that'll take care of that part. I'm going to need to look into how to add the thicker part over the battery pack, and the little ball at the end of the pommel. I'll keep you all up to date on my progress, and any ideas are welcome.

any ideas what I can use for the raised part on the back while still keeping the cap for the batteries accessible?

If the malice is pvc just get an adapter to fit over it, that way it creates the larger cavity but retains the innards, and if you want that flush look between the cavities I would use hot glue and shape it before it dries completely. I'm used to cheap alternatives so there's probably something better than hot glue :P

it kind of looks like a flashlight turned backwards (with the light being at the pommel). You could try using a backwards flashlight as a cover by taking out the internals and using the shell over the pvc, cutting in to the emitter and upper section to achieve that look type. Then add the cosmetics as necessary.

hmmmm the flashlight comment is very astute... I'd need to cut out the slots where the inner saber shows through, and add one or two other bits... but it looks very doable.

The battery pack on the end is going to be a sink aerator, and the part on the front of the saber will be a hand screwed plumbing cap. I think I can do this pretty easily now. I dont know if I'll use the flashlight idea or not, I need to see how a malice looks first.
