Well I've always found myself sifting through the forums to find what grab bags people have been getting lately.  I thought a thread where people could post pictures of their Grab bag and a brief description of it would be helpful.

So let's see what sabers you got from your grab bag order!

Good idea! Mine is out for delivery today so I'll post here a bit later today

I've had two grab bags now. The first one was a blue anodized Standard Issue v2 with vertical grooves and a Guardian Blue LED. The second one I got was a red anodized Liberator v2 with an Arctic Blue LED.

I got the same red anodized Liberator, but with a BR normal blade, matches quite well.

So, mine just arrived! Dominix V3 in Guardian Blue!!!! There is one small blemish on the emitter which is not a big deal at all since I might do a bit of weathering anyway. Here are the pics!

Thanks, I'm still in shock! I'll probably send it in for sound eventually. Like I've mentioned before, I still need to send in my Libby and get the sound replaced (since I fried it), so I'll probably send the two in together in a while...like, after the wedding since spending more money right now is tantamount to slicing my own throat lol

Overall, I like it, but I have three issues:

I. Ergonomics.

The three raised buttons and the underside button will cause more consternation than anything. I've already accidentally turned it off three times.

II. Aesthetics.

Despite being an RGB hilt, it only has one color: Guardian Blue (middle of three buttons). The other two don't work at all. They don't even click, almost as if this was designed to be a single color LED, but they shoved the internals into an RGB hilt.

III. Construction.

The saber hilt rattles a bit when shaken. Not sure where it's coming from, other than inside the hilt. Maybe just an internal part clicking against something.


Still, it's a nicely built saber, and a worthy Grab Bag special.

That's gotta be one of the greatest grab bag gets of all time (despite it only being one color). No doubt about it.

I think between that saber and my grab bag, there's going to be an influx of grab bag orders!

A V1 Bane is right up there with the Chosen One, IMO. I may have to order a grab bag along with my upcoming big purchase, whatever that ends up being.

This thing is just massive. It's almost long enough to be a saberstaff hilt. If I were to order a 40" blade, the saber might just look reasonably proportioned.

This is the second greatest Grab Bag in history, after the great accident of the Obsidian Bellicose. lol Congrats man!

LizzAnn got an awesome RGB shock with dark shock emitter equipped with BR. This is crazy! I kinda want to go for a grab bag, but I want an MLS in PO for my Bellicose. AAAAA with awesome stuff like this it's hard to decide!

So I did post these in my into, but I figured that this would be the best place for these pictures... I got a grab bag a few days back, and was very pleasantly surprised.  :D I saw that Akos had mentioned this saber so I thought I would share.  :) It's pretty large, and with my stature (5'3"), it makes one beast of a two-handed weapon hahaha!  ;D I wish the pictures did the blade more justice (BR, midgrade).

i said it before and i will say it again: one hell of a cool saber.

If you are not so big, like me consider trying a 32"blade next time, does wonders for me =)

Stupid...it seems like I was the last one to get a red hilt, and now we're getting all this cool sh**!  I'm pissed...

I'm going to make my next saber a bit more petite in hilt and blade for faster maneuvering, but this hilt is just so big I kind of like how it looks with the 36".  :) It's working well for me so far, but if it really starts to get in the way I'm going to take it to my dad and have him cut the blade down a bit.  :D


Awe, don't knock the red hilts! I really like the look of them a lot!  ;)

I do like the red liberators, I can see a lot of customization potential in them.  :)

I got a red Libby for grab bag, with a BR blade, and its NICE! altho i have to order a new blade. Wanna go 32"Ultra Edge on it, then i can dual wield it with my Prophecy!

unfortuanetly thats the chance you take when you choose to get a grab bag. my first and only grab bag got me an initiate v2 when everyone else seemed as if they were getting v2 aeons and dominix's. i was pretty upset but i got over it and decided to give it to my little boy.

My two grab bags have been a Guardian Blue Aeon and a Sunriders Destiny Liberator (the ones that were anodized blue).  I don't have any pics on hand though...

First grab bag for me was a PVC archon in GB and the second was a Dominix in BR. Both are heavily modified though so its almost defeats the purpose of posting pics :P lol

Here is my Grab Bag I got earlier in the year. Blue Guardian Blue Liberator now with a standard Mid Grade blade. Guardian Blue looks really nice with this blade. As you can see I took the pic during the day and look how bright the blade still is. =] Just thought I'd post a pic of my Grab Bag saber.

You say this is SRD? it looks like AB. Do you feel that these pictures accurately capture the blades color? I was hoping since the mainpage pic looks very teal, I was hoping there'd be more green in the shade than that..

Okay I decided to take the plunge and order the grab bag, my second one.  Since the Red/Blue Libs and SI are gone curiosity has gotten the best of me.  I remember seeing on here that someone got a Dominix V3, which I am praying to get something like that or even an Aeon would be SWEET!  I would even take a v3 initate :)  Instead of going with the random blade choice I decide to go with AS color with no blade....stupid me forgot to put the color discs on my order so I guess I will have to find me some...looking to make a Sentinel Yellow like Jaden Korr's blade.....

I made sure that the wife was not around while I made this purchase, she just doesn't understand that addiction these things cause.......BUT I will let you guys know what I get as SOON as I get it!!  This will be my third saber from Ultra Sabers....  :)

When I ordered my AS grab bag, I received color discs without requesting or ordering them. That's just how awesome US is ;)

So Grab Bags are now V3's and or more higher end sabers?? Makes me to want to go for one. :P Maybe I will when I ssubmit my video for the 300 rewards points.

Not necessarily v3's...just not the red/blue v2 lib & si...could be things like v1 bane...

True but I am hoping for a v3 in either a Dominix or Aeon... Or even a v3 initiate BUT it is a grab bag so we will see.  Just glad the others are gone, I already have the Red Libby...can't wait

Would be sweet if I got a V1 Bane. I'd send it back in for an Obsidian upgrade. And if I got the 3 switch version I'd get MHS sleeve material from TCSS and do a custom over lay to cover the upper two switches. If I score one I know what to do with the over lay.

It is more teal in person, the camera doesn't really pick up the color of the blade. Look at the second pic on the wall, it is pretty close to the real color (maybe a little darker)

Teal is a good word for it.  Probably the most accurate description, since it's a wee bit too green to be cyan most likely.

I would actually really want a V1 Bellicose or a V1 Liberator if i ordered a GB

Well, based on BlackHawk's info, I ordered a grab bag last night. I'd ordered a couple back in July for gifts and got both a red and a blue Liberator. I really liked them (particularly together! nearly kept them) but about seven of my friends and I are trying to get 30+ sabers for a stunt show and the brightly colored hilts stand out a bit.  :) So we'll see what I get!

I got a GB Blue anodized Standard issue about a month ago. It's pretty great haha. I'm thinking about another grab bag with my next order. Worried I'll get another blue saber. I already have two! What to do....

Well, if trends continue, I think his next one will be either SRD or VA. Probably SRD. Then it would be VA, DVA, BH, BR, PO, FO, SY, AS.... don't think he'd ever hit green though. XD

Ok well I think a grab bag purchase might be in the works for me. I was worried about going random and getting another blue saber or picking a blade color and getting a red or blue hilt that didn't match lol. BUT with them seemingly gone that makes me very excited again. YES!!

I'm sure they don't mind :P Not only does it bring them sales, but it helps them get rid of all their old stock thats laying around taking up space!

It's here! Camera batteries are dead so pictures will have to follow, but I got a RGB shock with a GB LED in it. I couldn't be more pleased! I'd looked long and hard at the Shock before ordering a Liberator but decided it looked much heavier. And I like the windowed emitter style. But the Shock's always been the one that caught my eye. So excuse me while I go play!

i just ordered a grab bag. i've been reading this thread and have seen the cool sabers some of you folks have gotten , so i had to go ahead and get one. i chose no blade and random color in hopes that it ships out faster.

I'll be honest, the Bane got my attention, but I didn't start thinking about buying one till those two shocks showed up. lol I've always kinda wanted a shock, but then kinda not wanted one. Getting one in a grab bag would be very enjoyable. :)

Waiting to see how my rewards points are gonna shape up with the review I just posted, if I have enough after that to discount the price enough, I just might have to go for it lol.

Oh and btw could someone remind me of how the rewards points work? I thought I read somewhere that the system had changed.

well a shipping label by ups has been made for my grab bag and hopefully i will find out tomorrow when i will be getting it. i'm going to guess i will get it by next thursday.

Think I might spring for one, found a way around paying 170 bucks for a parking pass for school so that gives me a little bit more cushion.

Well I got an Aeon v2 in AS. Very cool color, just never been a fan of the aeon or Dominix. I'll probably end up selling it to a friend or giving it to my brother as a gift and try my luck again :p

lol Too bad, though I have a Dom V2 and I love it, they are a rather.... plain hilt to look at. That's why I covered mine in aurebesh graffiti! XD I did have a feeling somebody would end up getting a V2 after all the MHS RGB hilts that just went out, but I thought it would be me not you. lol

Figures I would get my least favorite hilt :p haha like I said oh well, it was still very exciting so I'll use whatever money I get from this an pick up another! I hate being addicted lol

Seriously, if you hate it that much you could always hit it with a can of Krylon to spice it up. Or just mail it to me.... I have no problems with free sabers.... :D

It's not that I hate the hilt color as much as the dullness. If it was a v3 it would be cool cuz my mod possibilities would be a bit more vast, as well as being able to have those sexy choke points >:)

My Grab Bag for Aug 16th is a:             V3 Prophecy with AS Blade (alas no color disks, but that is cool)

Let me tell you how shock I was to see this one......it even came with Li-Ion batteries (no charger, but I already have one).  How do I know it is Li-Ion batteries?  It was stated on the invoice I received from US.  It also has the open pommel for sound, which will be added later!  Oh My Feaking God!!!  I couldn't believe it!!   Thank You ULTRA and EMORY!!!

@Silverback: The middle button actually turns it on. The switch on the back doesn't do anything. I found this out after trying the change the batteries.  :)

I ordered a GB too, It's probably still processing, havent checked yet. HOPEFULLY Ill get a prophecy or a Shock or something. If I get a v2 I will just sell it, I have too many v2's ESPECIALLY Aeons and Dom's. Probably still sell if it is a v3 of any of those too. The main reason why I ordered is to see if I get lucky like others did with the higher - end models :P

All this GB talk got me interested in one so last week a put my order in. I asked for blazing red for the color since if I need to I can weather it up if i didnt like the hilt. Well I can say I got vvveerrrryyyy lucky and just received an RGB shock with a bellicose pommel! Obviously the red only works but it looks awesome and is awesome.

You gotta be yanking me. How do I get so unlucky lol. That's it, I'm ordering another.

I imagine that now they're trying to reduce stock of the least purchased hilt styles, hence a lot of RGB hilts with only single color LED's installed. At least once they clear out some stock, there will be more room for new styles. :D

After seeing the amazing results, especially with the Liberator's and Standard Issue's no longer in stock, I couldn't feel more confident in my chances.

I asked for a random color and a HG blade.

Okay need to make a correction on my grab bag.....my prophecy is actually a v2 (measures 10.5) where the v3 (measures 11) and no li ion batteries...just AAA batteries but hey it is still a WAY COOL grab bag....anyone know where I can find these color discs at since mine did not come with any or do think I should email Ultra and see if they were just left out???

I just ordered a GB today so we shall see if I get lucky....

My grab bag showed up about 45 minutes ago, I got an aeon in AS. Its the v2 if I'm not mistaken. I read somewhere that ultra edge blades really wash the color out with the color discs from US, that's 100% true except for a yellow and orange combo I found that makes an awesome sentinel yellow. So I ordered another grab bag with a standard mid grade this time around, I figured why order a blade by itself when I can get another saber for cheap? I'm planning on customizing it a bit, just gotta figure out what I'm gonna do to it, then I'll post some pics.

hmm... Sounds like they have an awful lot of AS v2 Aeons to get rid of.. :P blegh.

I ordered it with AS, has that been a common color when going the random route? My next one is BR, and I opted for 2nd day air, so hopefully it'll be here Wednesday. Once I figure out what I'm gonna do with the aeon I'll get some pictures up.

Oh well if you ordered it with AS that makes me feel a bit better lol But yeah you are the second one on this thread to receive the AS Aeon. I just assumed you ordered random for the color option.

You definitely have a vast range of customization options with an Aeon. Im interested to see what you come up with  ;D

You'll have to let us know what you get Vex. Anyone have any ideas for customizing the aeon I got? I've got a few ideas but nothing concrete yet, I might hold off on working on it until I see what my next grab bag turns out to be.

Paint it. Do a leather wrap around the activator (cut a hole for the button or put it between the laces). Add a D-Ring to the Pommel. Get model paints and do some intricate little scroll work or wings or something fancy and elegant around the emitter. Put a different metallic color on the choke. I did some similar things on my Dominix V2 and it turned out great, actually looks pretty detailed all things considered. :)

At least all those yucky blue and red hilts are gone.  :P The aeon/dominix v2 is probably the easiest to customized they have a lot of shape to work details in like my follow moderator said.  ;)

Looks pretty awesome boss! You happen to have any pictures manroon? I was thinking about a wrap with some tennis or hockey stick grip, I know a poor mans way to do electro-acid etching that I'd like to try, but I've only done it on stainless and carbon steel, so I have no idea how it'd react with aluminum. I'd post the link to the instructions but its on another forum, and I'm not sure if that's against the rules or not.

Posting links to other forums is okay, just so long as it's not a competitor of Ultra's. IE, make sure the place doesn't sell any lightsaber stuff, and you should be fine.

Back to the Dominix, I will say that if you plan to paint a large area such as the spot I painted copper on mine, you have got to sand it first, or it'll flake and peel like crazy. Small areas should be fine though for the most part, depending on the paint you use. :)

I had the same attitude towards my aeon v2 hah but then I customized it and its not bad.  Still will be sold though :P

I wouldnt be so sour if I didnt already own basically 4 of the same hilt already, of which I have expended all possible customization options between the four of them, other than additional machining and shroud work. So, Im just going to sell it as is, with a standard heavy grade blade and probably include a replacement pack of energizer Li - ions, just so it will sell easier.

the only unique things I found with it are:

- Polished aluminum LED housing
- Collimator lens ( not entirely sure on the viewing angle ) Does make for a very bright blade, and I havent even put fresh batteries in it.

I was also half way hoping that it would come with an RGB installed like my Archon came to me when I ordered it as a grab bag (it was also originally guardian blue), but I found that a Blue p4 was installed on this one.

jm, you should put your Aeons together for a staff maybe?

In order to make them into an even staff I would have to buy an RGB, mix it to AB, install it in the grab bag with a buckpuck and a 7.4v stick pack, Install a green dot AV, drill the whole for the crystal chamber, make the chamber itself, and add a covertec. Just not really worth it to me and it kinda defeats the purpose :P

today my grab bag came in and i got an aeon v2 in gurdian blue. i'm not a big fan of guardian blue but i think i may order a coupler for it so i can make it into a staff with my dominix. since my dominix is brilliant red , i think it will be my good/evil or a yin and yang saber.

My grab bag just showed up, and its a dominix v2, so I'd say you're right about that being the new theme. I ordered it in BR, so thats probably why it wasn't an aeon. I wasn't crazy about my aeon when it first arrived, but I love it now! It's such a long saber compared to my initiate, so I'm really happy with the dominix.

It's true, the Aeon, Dominix, and Standard Issue V2's do grow on you. I never wanted any of them, but got them all in grab bags (and the last as a raffle prize lol) and after having each a short while found them to be incredibly practical duelers. The SI V2 particularly ranks among my favorite sabers, I just love the slim hilts.

I love how long they are, my initiate was my first saber and it came with a 32 inch blade, then both the aeon and The dominix have 36 in blades. I especially love the flat black finish on the dominix compared to the initiates gloss, feels real sithy  :)

My grab bag will be here tomorrow , ordered it with AB led.

I ordered my first Grab bag today in Blazing red, we'll see what I get.  I think the last person to order BR got a Dominix V2.   Has anyone ever gotten an Archon V2 grab bag?  Thats what I really want but I'm sure the odds are super slim.

I've never heard of anyone getting a V2, but I remember back when people would get V1s as grab bags :D

That's a pretty nice premium type of saber. most grab bags are surplus or less popular.. the archon is among the more popular seems like.

Ugh I got a Dark Initiate LE My blade color I picked in AS. I will prob post this on Ebay. I'm not a big fan of the Initiate. I was hoping for a Aeon LE like the other guy got or a Prophecy or something. Oh well it is A nice product overall though and Thanks to Ultra we can try our luck with GB sabers. Maybe I will try 1 more time but not right now.

A V3 LE of any sort is actually a good get, or would be if you liked the Initiate V3s that is. I definitely recommend getting a shorter blade for it, though.

Yes, my AS grab bag came with color disks (not all of the colors, mind you, but six of them nonetheless).

Just a shot of me holding it horizontally in a dark room. These sabers are incredibly bright, and the blade itself extends quite a bit past the edge of the frame. The hilt is 12", the blade 36". This picture shows off the color best, though admittedly not perfectly.

I'm definitely very happy with this saber, it's everything I could've wanted from a grab bag.

Really love these sabers and they will be put to good use in the next Invasion event. I have even ordered the coupler for the blue and green as I lucky enough to get the same hilt. This will give me a fab double ended saber.

I was also lucky enough to get blade plugs with my sabers.

I was so impressed with the quality of the sabers that I have now ordered my full sound battle saber and it is currently about to leave the USA for Ireland, can't wait for it to arrive.

Now I want a Grab Bag even more. If I can get my guitar pedals sold I will be getting a Grab Bag. Not sure what color to go for this time though. I don't have a purple blade yet so that's what I might do. If I get a V3 of something can I send it back in later on for an Obsidian upgrade? I might go standard Mid Grade blade because I normally just leave Grab Bags as show sabers. Just wondering really though about the Obsidian upgrade.

thats kinda funny, most people use the grab bags as their beat em up stunt sabers for working out, and use their shinies as display / con sabers

then again, i used my graflex and guardians as primary sabers before, and now i have my very very shiny custom build, that just works too well as a primary lol

I should not have spent so much time on these forums in the last couple of days..... I don't even have my first order yet  (should be here tomorrow according to UPS) and I already ordered another one..... Random LED GB ordered today. Now begins the wait for my shipment to Canada.

Ok here is some pics of my grab bag that I got about a little over a week ago.  My apologize on the late post, but had one wicked sinus bug to deal with.  I am finally feeling more human and finally got to take some pictures.  

When I initally received this I was like in total shock that I actually got a Prophecy with an AS color LED module.  I did not purchase a blade with this one since I have a couple already and felt it was not needed at this time.  This thing is B E A U TIFUL!!!  This will make a great off hand saber for me since I have large hands.  I can hold it with two hands, but it does seem awkward.  I did not receive any color discs with this purchase, I wasn't sure if you have to purchase or if they might have been left out.  I would eventually get the filters to make a SY color blade.

It came with the sound pommel which I really didn't care for.  I went on to TCSS and purchased the Pommel style 7 with the Bio haz Symbol insert and I think it completes the saber.  I am currently contemplating about painting the indents in the handle, the button area, and the emmiter either a shiny metallic gold or copper.....any suggestions...??

This saber is very wicked cool and my first shiny saber.......I was secertly hoping for a shock, but hey this was even better :)

ahh okay, you ordered them seperate, i thought you got them on the hilt, i know some ultrasabers were built from tcss parts, and ultra did a couple custom consulars way back that were using that pommel

Yeah...I saw where Big Boss had used this same pommel on one of his Aeons and it was also a little cheaper in price as well.  I like it alot and I was gonna paint it gold or a copper color anyway...it also give my saber a little more length as well...

It almost looks like you got a nickle plated one just because the silver finish is different on it then it is on the tcss pommel which is made from the same metal as the regular sabers, of course it could just be the camera.

Yes, but they have anodized finishes.  I have a Dark War Glaive and a Red Liberator, but no other just plain metal ones at the moment.  Now this saber IS that shiney and it may well be the CE Prophecy.  It has a smooth mirror finish with no blemishes or scratches.  Some of the other sabers I have seen that are not anodized have a somewhat dull sheen to them, not this one.  The photos really do not does this one justice, you can even see some of the blemishes where I had handle it.  The more I thought about it after I opened it, I was wondering if this had a nickle finish.  I can try to do some outdoor shots if that might help........

The biggest reason other than the shiny exterior is that I see that the v2 prophecy is not in stock on the website. This happened to the other v2's that showed up as grab bags. If that is the case and you do indeed have a ce prophecy then you have a little piece of history!

Got an Aeon (not v3) in what I think is Guardian Blue :).

That's the V2 CE. I'm sure of it, I've got one myself. The groove length and the finish are a dead giveaway. :) Nice score! Actually, it's twice as nice because there's not yet been any indication of a CE release of the V3, so it really is history there.

Yeah I learned the hard way to wait until they get back and relaxed a little after a con to order. It took an agonizingly long time it seemed the first saber I ordered. Silly me didn't know they were at a con haha.

nope no grooved pommel, and tract was mistaken on the switch, its not one of the toggle switches, but it is a latching one, not momentary, so i dont have the lock up sound, not that it bothers me lol

Whatthe? Latching switch on Obsidian? That's weird. I've never heard of one set up that way before. Man, I thought that hilt would look good in AB..... Again, congrats on making history Vel. (and thanks for answering the pommel question!)

I'am in agreement with my fellow mods you are one lucky ducky!  :D I though remain skeptical, I think it may be a bad obsidian board  where the lock up broke, but every thing else was fine on the board. Thus making them have to put it in a grab bag and not offer it in a new saber. As for being a latching switch how can you tell? I could never tell the difference between switches.  :P

I believe one clicks, and the other does not. I could be mistaken, but I do know all my momentary switches do not click, and all my stunt sabers have switches that click. I like to try and push them down far enough to turn on the saber without clicking. It's fun, cause then when other people try to turn them off, they have to hit it twice, and it confuses them. I think I've been at work to long today.... ;D

Ultra put up a video when the shock first came out and that had an obsidian board with a latching switch. You might have gotten one of those early demo sabers!

My 1st Grab bag came in yesterday, I have to say I'm a bit let down after seeing some of the more recent bags people have received.  I got a Dark Initiate V2 (blazing red as I requested).  Not that its a horrible saber or anything, but I paid $50 for a grab bag, plus $5 for blazing red, plus $15 for a mid grade ultra edge blade.  Total = $70.

Now if you just add a Dark Initiate to your cart, blazing red with an ultra edge mid grade blade it equals $69.99    ....  So basically I actually paid .01 more than if I had just strait up ordered that exact saber, getting a grab bag seems like it should warrant some kind of discount, I guess its more of a gamble than anything.  Luckily my Guardian still makes me smile, the DI will probably get the ebay hammer.

yep thats pretty much what a grab bag is. A gamble. Some times you win, sometimes you lose, but in the end you still got a lightsaber.  :)

@Veldryne pity it wasn't a higher end board, but you still got a sound saber which is crazy in itself.  :P

Definitely.  The trick to grab bags (and this is hard if you're on the forum) is to not get your expectations up, because there certainly isn't any guarantee you'll get a Shock like Veldryne or something.  You're MUCH more likely to get a Dominix or Initiate or something, and just break even.

As you said... it's a gamble.

Any way you slice it, you at least break even (or close enough that it doesn't matter). Look at it this way... US could have a stockpile of $20 sabers that they're handing out with Grab Bags...

Either way, you're getting your money's worth. Actually more, because the blades are more expensive when not in a grab bag.

By the way I was wrong, it's a Dominix V2 not a Dark Initiate, its starting to grow on me a little.  I may keep it around for whenever my friend's kids come over and want to play with my lightsabers... that way I don't have to hand over a $250+ toy to them to scuff up.

I really REALLY like the aeon and dominix V2s. I think they are the easiest for most people and most hand sizes to handle. they are lightweight, comfortable, and with a midgrade 32" blade, super fast! Plus they are really easy to customize. You can wrap it (cloth or leather), put O-rings on it, weather it (sandpaper, <- with clearcoat, paint with drybrush technique etc), add a claw... anything else you can imagine.. It's such a nice canvas to work with, while others don't lend themselves to customizations as easily.

Dominix V2s make excelent dueling sabers. Great control and gripping. They also make great spinning sabers!

One part I don't like about that is that it says "SUBSTANTIAL SAVINGS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS!" When it really isn't...I mean yeah, sometimes it is, like the Chosen Two, but other than that, not much "saving" except for a few bucks here and there...

Most of the grab bags I have seen are Aeons, Dominixes, or Liberators.  So let's say you want a costume piece, therefore you are not getting a blade.  So the lowest price full hilt is 64.99 and you pay 50.  That is a 23% saving.  In advertising lingo, substantial is 20% or greater.  Let's look at blades.  To purchase a blade alone, you are going to pay between 29-39.  On the grab bag, you get it for 15.  If you like HG, that is a $24 in the pocket.  Even the lower end sabers are gonna add price for Ultraedge and Heavy Grade.

You have to remember that the grab bag was setup to be random without a blade.  That is where the savings come into play.  You are getting a saber with a minimum saving of 23%.  Of course like the regular sabers, the more you add, the more you cost yourself.  That is because you are taking the randomness out of the situation. 

If you are wanting a specific saber with a specific color, then you need to go to the site and order it.  If you don't care the color or the style of hilt, then get a grab bag.  I have often recommended these to people that are having trouble making up their minds.  This way, you know what you want and don't want. 

My first was an Archon V1 pictured below.  I could not make up my mind what I wanted so my lady bought this for me as a Christmas gift.  Random with a mid-grade blade.  Total cost $55 (the price has increased due to the PVC hilts being gone.)  What did I learn?  That I loved Guardian Blue.  It was the shade of Blue that I still love to this day.  I also learned that mid-grade blades were not what I wanted.  I also learned that the next hilt I bought needed to be longer than 10 inches as my giant hands hung off both ends.  So rather than make a $200 investment and be disappointed, I made a $55 investment and learned a great deal. 

This is what grab bags are meant to be.  Random sabers that you can have fun with, learn something about yourself and Ultrasabers, and be more informed when you make a larger purchase.  These are your samples.  You get to see size, quality, brightness, and strength.  It is also a lot cheaper than driving or flying to a con to hold a saber for yourself.

Probably when I can solve my uploading issues. See, I lost the software for my old Kodak video camera, and it shoots in some bogus kodak file format that works with NOTHING, there's no free replacement of the software, and for some reason if I try to upload anything I record on my Android to the Tube it takes EONS for it to Finish. I mean 2 to 4 minutes per PERCENTAGE of video. It's driving me nuts, but I can't just go buy a new camera either, and my webcam is poodoo so I can't use that. Plus, I'm in Anaheim. The weather is not presently conducive to much training, and though my initiate blade helps greatly with indoor training, it only gets me so far. lol

Yes, some videos would allow me to actually tutor you online in Makashi.... my apprentice... mwahahaha!

I know, that's another reason I want to sort that problem out. In the words of Johnny Five: 'Iiiiinpuuuuut!' ;D

A guy is coming by next week Friday to buy my Grab Bag GB Aeon v2 LE. Buying it for 45 bucks so Im basically breaking even. Selling it with a standard heavy grade and some duracell NiMh rechargables and charger, so I am really giving him a deal, but I bought as just a hilt for 46 bucks total. I just dont feel like hanging on to it and am desperate for money :p.

I guess the Ultra Sabers crew is busy recovering from DragonCon. They usually don't take so long to ship out a grab bag.

Check inside your center console. It's amazing how much change ends up there. Or if your car has an actual change holder. No joke, my mom's POS Escape has a little slot in the dash on the left side of the wheel that holds like 3 bucks in quarters.

My grab bag just came in today, Got a Aeon v2 guardian blue. I wouldn't say its a bad get, but I was kind of hoping for better... I'm thinking about customizing it, any ideas?

It's funny that a while ago Aeons and Dominix hilts were far more desirable when people were getting blue or red Liberators.. I love the V2 aeons and Doms. They are so comfy in your hand! love it. Give it a wrap with leather, or strips of cloth.. Vex wrapped his Dominix with a tan fabric and it looked awesome!

oh another thing you can do is weathering. you can take some sandpaper, coarser for heavy weathering or some scarring and finer for the smoother weathering look, take a dark paint, maybe black or rust or brown or a mix of those, and paint over your weathered sections and wipe away the excess. That way the paint stays in the groves and scars made by the sandpaper and not on the rest of the hilt, giving it a old look. Go through the customization threads and find something you like and read about how they did it.

Sorry to digress from the topic but just thought that I'd point out that with all its activity it is always right at the top anyway ;)

Aeon V3 LE. Nice hilt, good wielder, the gold is nice. I wasn't a huge fan of the shape of the hilt visually, but it is a great hilt for holding and using. :) I jokingly call it the ergo-saber. Looks good in CG.  8)

Nice saber there Rajax! I got it's older brother the Aeon V2 LE and I just love it. I really like the Aeon/Dominix hilts (I have a Phantom V3 LE which is just two Dominixes together) they are so comfortable in the hand. You'll be loving that saber more and more!

I Recieved a Aeon V2 in FO was hoping for the LE version but oh well i will put orings on it to custimize it.

Oh and by the way has anyone seen the 2 battery setup? my aeon V2 has a 2 battery setup but all my other sabers have a 4 battery setup?

I've seen both setups. It depends on the color. For Example my FO Prophecy came with a 2 AAA setup. My CG Phantasm had the 4 AAA setups. My BR Dominix V2 came with the 2 AAA setup. GB SI V2 has the 4. It's all in which color you get. :)

you could paint the grooves bronze, or what the hey why not orange to match the blade color? that would look unique! But I do think a great looking mod for an orange saber is bronze/copper/black to contrast the silver hilt, and it gives a sort of functional/utilitarian look to it. maybe I can find the pic of the one I'm thinking of (the hilt anyway, I don't think the blade is orange..)

Hi! I just received my first Ultrasabers order ever! I got me three grab bags with ultra-edge, no precise color. Here is what I got! I'm pretty amaze in fact. got three different color. The only downside is that I checked the standard shipment from UPS and they charged me 40$ on delivery... (I live in Quebec, Canada) and should have checked worldwide shipping for 20 more bucks. At least I know now. hehe.

I don't know what I get, guess two of them are LiberatorV2 ? and the other one I'm not quite sure looks like a Aeon, anyway I love it!

Guardian Blue, Consular Green?, and Blazing Red. Seems like an excellent Grab Bag get to me! You have 2 liberators, a dark and a regular. Those are actually v3 liberators. The Aeon is a v2 and is a really great saber! Congrats!!

It's here. Just in time for me to go to work. It's an Aeon v3 in SRD I think. The hilt is nice. Took a look at the led module and its weird. Not like either of my other two sabers. The less don't mix perfectly so it looks SRD at the bottom and then maybe AN near the top. AnywayI dont have time right now but ill post pics later and you all can tell me what you think.

The Aeon v3's are bad arse!  I have a LE version and love it.....it by far one of the best spinning and whirling hilts out there ....simple and beautiful!  Congratulations on your GB my friend!

Well, I'm adding a grab bag to pad out my order for the raffle! I'm really excited to see what it is. On the one hand, it feels like it'll probably be anticlimatic after getting the Shock. On the other hand...I'd actually love one of the Aeons, Battle Sabers, Dominixs ect.

I look at my Ultrasabers like kids, pets, or friends.  You can never have too many and you will love them all for different reasons.

Just got my saber! Its  dominex v3 with a blue blade. Note sure which color of blue but I am guessing artic blue? It looks kinda light blue with the naked eye.

Pretty much everything posted in this thread since its creation makes me want one. But alas, I have other plans for my saber collection that must come before another grab bag.

I may only do 2 or 3 grab bags. I just want a few stunt sabers then maybe buy a few extra parts. Depends on what colours I get.

All my others will be sound with flash on clash.

I just ordered a grab bag, not 5 minutes ago. I should have it by Monday or Tuesday.

I actually only needed one of the blades, as the standard 36" I have is too long for me. But instead of paying $30 plus shipping for a single blade, I just went with a grab bag and added a mid grade for $15.

I set the color to random. Hoping for Arctic Blue or Pyrestone Orange, but I will be happy with ANY color. Will update with pics and a video review.

I ordered a ultraedge heavy grade blade and a random color with the request that it not be Blazing Red, I received:

Dark Initiate V3, 36" UltraEdge Heavy Grade in Violet Amethyst, with a latching power button.

Some of the V2's are awesome as well.  Many forget that the Archon is a version 2.  That would be awesome if my grab bag was that.  I seriously doubt it will be but hey, stranger things have happened.  3 x chosen ones?

I ordered my grab bag on Friday morning... It left San Jose yesterday morning and it probably already delivered to my shipping and receiving department at work... I'm hoping to have it by tomorrow afternoon.

I ordered everything random. I added a midgrade blade and asked to have it shortened to 32". It doesn't matter what I get, but for the sake of variety, I'm hoping to have a non GB, non Liberator hilt.

Just ordered my first grab bag order today. Can't wait to see what I get. I purchases a pair od Dominix v3's a few weeks ago and they are amazing. I have probably dropped both of them 2 dozen times and the light only went out once (jarred a battery loose). These sabers handle and feel great. Wii post pics as soon as I have them for you.

I need to get some Grab bags again. Grab Bagging really is fun. If I get some, the colors are going to be Consular Green and Guardian Blue both with normal Heavy Grade blades for filming purposes. I think Grab Bags are mostly V3's now if I'm right.

Yeah they seem to have been lately. Mine came in on Monday and it was a v3 Aeon. Just ordered another today in Consular Green. We'll see!

The Archon V2 is technically a V2 but it was released much closer to the V3s and has nothing in common with the regular V2s, so I tend to think of it along with the other MHS hilts rather than a 'Version'.

I believe the concept of the Grab Bag was a way to get rid of all the left overs and odd balls in the shop. The PVC or MHS one-off prototypes and designs that didn't make it into full production, or were phased out, or had cosmetic blemishes, or anything like that. Whatever they couldn't or didn't wish to put in the regular store. A good example being Vel's Shock. An older model, still sold in the store, but wired up with an MR sound board from before the release of Obsidian. When Obsidian came out, MR Sound was discontinued. Couldn't be sold in the store, so it wound up in the Grab Bag bin. :)

I'll be honest, I was kind of hoping for something other than the Liberator, as I have a blue v2. But I'm not disappointed. It's a solid hilt. Well built and easy to wield.

My Grab Bag arrived today.  I had to rush out to get my daughter from day care and then head to class.  When I got home, I unboxed it to find that I had a Liberator V3.  I asked for a 32" Heavy Grade Blade and that is what I received.  My suggestion is to listen to Master Nero when he says get a 32" blade.  He was spot on the money.  I have never felt anything this balanced in my life.  I checked and it contains 2 AAA batteries.  I will be doing a video showing the color so as not to spoil the surprise. 

Now my windowed emitter collection is complete for the moment. 

Sweeet! 2 aaa batteries? Betcha I can guess what color the blade is!  :D

My Dominix v3 came this morning...I think. I'll get picture's up here in a bit, but I'm honestly not 100% positive if it's an Initiate or a Dominix. It's quite a bit longer than my Prophecy, so I think it's the Dominix.  Definitely a v3 though! And, once more guessing, it's SDR. I'm going to compare it to my sister in law's AB this afternoon. My first thought was that it was AB, but it's definitely greener than I remember hers being. I'm very, very happy with it irregardless! I can couple it with my other v3, I'm a real sucker for chokes US does and this saber has two, and it's a completely new hilt and color for me! I have a Dark Libby, but it has Obsidian and FOC so it'd be hard to couple together with a second stunt saber.

If it's longer than your prophecy it's definitely not an initiate, those are like 9" long (as compared to the dominix at just over 1 foot)

How and why does battery config matter when it comes to color??

Certain color LEDs draw less power, and thus use different batteries. Also, Lith Ion set ups will provide more power more evenly for a longer time compared to standard batts, and the Buck Puck will increase that as well. It's mostly just cause of technical specs and jargin that the average joes like you and me don't get too involved with. lol

I figured that was the case, buy how do you guess BR or FO out of just two AAA batts? Are those the only two colors that use 2 AAAs?

I read somwhere that red requires less power than other colors , so if you get a saber with normal battery configuration and order a blazing red led then your sabers gonna run on two batteries instead of the normal 4 batteries required for alot of all the other colors.

I THINK they are, but I'm not sure. I know all the RGB colors use 4, as do Green and Blue. I have a FO and a BR saber and both came with the 2 AAA setup, so that was the basis of my guess. :)

This is true.  It's the same reason most laser gun sights are red.  It draws less power.  Green laser sights have been proven easier to see, but they draw more power because of the way the green beam has to be made.

Thats a good comparison Oramac. I have a scope that has red and green illumination modes. The red illumination will last for hours and hours. The green illumination will drain the battery in probably an hour or less.

Was kinda hoping for a V3 hilt, but a pretty good stunt, especially for the 15% off weekend.  I love how light it is, and customizations will begin soon, so any ideas would be welcome. (Pm them to me please, as to keep this thread clear)

Got my newest sabers today. The grab bag is a Dominix v2 in CG. It's wonderful :D

In regard to those asking about colors and batteries.  The Red and Orange LED's have a forward voltage of 2.4 V so 2 x AAA will give you 3.0 V of power.  This is enough to turn the LED's on.  The Green, Blue, and White LED's have a forward voltage of 3.4 V so 2 x AAA will not be enough voltage to turn them on.  The 4 x AAA battery packs give you 6.0 volts of power so they are needed to power the Blue, Green, and White LED's.  If you have a mixture of 2 - 3 LED's for colors like Arctic Blue, Violet Amethyst, or SRD, then you will need to have the power to turn on the LED with the highest forward voltage so these get 4 x AAA batteries as well.

Point for the good explanation, Blue ;)  Also, you'll love this - the grab bag I ordered turned out to be a Standard Issue V3 in Guardian Blue.  I'll post a few pics soon.

I love that standard issue.  The silver hilts really look great and the grooves just seem to pop.  Of course the blue doesn't hurt either.   Thanks a million for suggesting the 32" blade.   I feel much more in control and don't feel like I am wielding a staff.

No problem man!  It really does help decrease the weight, especially in HG blades.  With the midgrades I can wield the 36" pretty easily, but with HG it can get a bit tough... especially for somebody who does the kind of single handed, fencing style handwork that I do.  My instinct is to use the fingers and wrist for precise bladework, and that's pretty tough with the full size HG IMO.

I'm pretty pleased with this, haven't seen one of these SI V3 hilts in person.  I do have to say, it's quite a bit chunkier than the V2 ones, but it's still a really solid hilt to wield.  Because of the bigger size, the grooves are a bit deeper too, giving it more character.

You can always ask a mod to move it :)

Got my two grab bags a week or so ago. They were an Aeon LE v2 in blue and a Standard Issue in green.  Both have 36 inch mid-grade blades. When I pulled them out of the bag my first impression of the Aeon was, "looks a bit skinny for a guy 6'1"" but I took it out into the front yard and was amazed at how balanced and perfect it feels for spinning and weaving maneuvers. Much lighter than my Dominix LE v3 and handles great.

For me, the Dark Libby is a tad bit heavy and I should have gotten the lighter blade because after only a few swings, I'm already tired lol.  Of course I'm out of shape, short and small so it looks like I will try one more grab bag and then decide what I really want (a saber that is the smallest!)  ;D

I wonder if its at all possible to drop a hint for the guys at UltraSabers, that you dont like a certain hilt. ( I.E. anyting but a _________ please.)

That defeats the purpose of the Grab Bag saber. Part of the excitement is "OMG What am I going to get???". It's also like a lottery system. Sometimes you win big, other times, not as big.

My first grab bag was a blue anodize Liberator v2 in Guardian Blue. I ordered another grab bag not too long ago, and it was a Dark Liberator v3 in Guardian Blue. Everyone else was getting Standard Initiates, Aeons, and others. I had hoped to not get a Liberator, but I did. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy with it. And I got it cheaper than I would have if I had picked it from the selection of single blade sabers ($60 vs $90).

There's a few things I'd say it'd be ok to ask (though you're not guaranteed obviously) - for example, I could understand if someone wanted either two V2s or two V3s, so that they'd be compatible to combine into a staff. I'd also say if you were planning a jedi costume and weren't fussed about colour but knew you weren't making a sith costume, you could ask for anything except Blazing Red, I'd say that's reasonable too. However, you'd have to be prepared for them to disregard the request at their discretion.

At US, all sabers are wins!

just got my first grab bag and and im extremely happy its an aeon v3 LE and it has no cosmetic defects at all.  Theblade is consular green and looks amazing.  Definitly a customer for life the is what even the grab bags are like  ;D                  Also my first ultra saber of any kind

Hi, placed an order for a grab bag on Monday as I had no idea what to buy, ordered it with a violet amethyst blade so hopefully the guys will have matched them up nicely.

Just watching the tracking via fed ex which I am finding exciting on its own...at the moment it's at Oakland CA, where ever that is.

PS I am in the UK so could have sometime to wait.

Oakland is essentially San Francisco, they're right across a bridge from each other. :)

I ordered my 2nd grab-bag on November 5, 2012.

Honestly, I'm really easy with this grab-bag as I purchased it during the 2-day 15% off sale.
Strangely enough, I'm almost hoping it will be another Dominix V2 in Guardian Blue, like my other Grab-Bag so I can purchase a connector and have another saber-staff.

Still though, a V3 would always be nice and I'm a lot more open minded about trying another saber like the Liberator or Standard Issue [preferably in black] even though I don't usually care for those.  The Liberator, from what I heard, is really well balanced, and I would like to have a well-balanced stunt-saber. Of course I care more for a Dominix or Aeon V3 but I'm sure that's what everyone cares about.  If it is a V3, I sure hope it's in Blazing Red...  :D

I realize hoping is pointless with a grab-bag, but surprisingly enough, I find Grab-Bag's a more exciting purchase then knowing what I'm getting.  I have the Consular V3 and the Phantasm Initiate V3.  After seeing Ultrasabers at Wondercon, I have a fairly good idea how the rest of the sabers handle.
But with Grab-Bag's there's that one random factor that I just cannot fathom.  :)

I asked Ultrasabers to send some extra business cards in the order.  I hope they did so because I know a plethora of people from my classes, saber-group, Renaissance Faire's and my religious affiliation hang-out group, my Rabbi being one of them, who are really interested in purchasing from Ultrasabers.

Wow! VA is an amazing color :) Personally, adegan silver is my favorite, but really all US look awesome XD

All right, back to the action.

Grab bag get!  I have no idea what this is...I like the style but find myself missing the li-on setup (it has 4 AAA's) and obsidian I have in my Prophecy V3, and it appears incompatible with current pommels so I can't switch it to a newer one.

However it is perfect for its chosen role, I got it with the UE Heavy grade blade to use as sort of a 'weighted training' blade, so when I use my Prophecy with mid-grade blade I will be able to swing it much easier. 

Also its secondary purpose is to have on hand as a "loaner" in case my friends want to spar and they only have junky plastic toys and not an Ultra Saber.   This thing is super rugged from hilt to blade, and I prefer the "more green" green color it has versus my Prophecy which is Consular Green but seems tinted a little towards blue in the spectrum while this Grab bag saber is more towards the yellow end of green.

Is that... Emerald Green?? It looks different from the Consular Green in your Prophecy.

It does!  I have no clue, I didn't know there was another green option other than consular. 

There is definitely more yellow than blue, unlike the consular green I have which appears to have a little more blue than yellow.   It is harder to notice when they are not side by side

Emerald Green is the newest secret "forum color" that is not publicly offered but can be ordered. The others are Dark Violet Amethyst, Pyrestone Orange, and Sentinel Yellow.

Little update on the progress of my first sabre.

It has arrived in the UK at Stansted Airport which is one of Londons 4 airports, so that's the about 7000 miles in less than 2 days. How many days for the last 50 or so.......

Don't forget Bane's Heart! :P

Also, if it's more yellow, I would say that it isn't EG. EG would actually be more blue.

Truth.  If it's a more "yellow" type of green, then I'd say it might use an old Lux III.  Ranking the greens from yellow to blue I'd say it's Lux III (or V), Seoul P4 (the current LED used for Consular Green), then Emerald Green.

OK my grab bag has come through, and I am impressed at the speed of delivery. Ordered Monday evening, arrived Friday afternoon.

So what did I get.... a Dominix V2. I must say how well made it is, and the VA blade is very nice, I was a little worried when I read the colour was a little on the pink side. All in all quite happy with my purchase :)

This is the most likely explanation. My Archon V1 had a Lux III and it was more towards the yellow end of green than my Seoul P4 MLS unit.

Definitely.  I gave away my PVC hilt that had a Lux III green, but I have a Luke V2 hilt which houses a Lux V green and it's definitely a different shade from the P4.  Here's a comparison pic:

My Luke ROTJ with the Seoul P4 is on the right, my Luke V2 with the Lux V is on the left.  Pretty noticeable difference!

I freaking love all of this LED electronics stuff! It's crazy how much diversity there is for a single color! I'm definitely going to build my own saber someday.

The red looks orangish in the lights-off pic due to it being a dim color. It seems to me that the LED itself is dim as I've changed to new batteries twice and it still looks dim especially next to my friend's BR Dark Prophecy. Do any Mods know if that's covered by their warranty?

Nice sabers!  Blazing Red does tend to look dim in comparison to some others (especially blue), just the nature of the hue.  However, if you think there really is a problem with it you can always email them at shipping@ultrasabers.com.

Just as a thought, did you try swapping the UEHG for a mid grade or UE mid grade blade just to see? The difference between mid and heavy are astounding, at least in Consular Green. Give the mid vs heavy a shot.

I did check that and there is some difference but not much. I'm wondering though if the power source might have something to do with it. My friend's Prophecy is Li-Ion run but mine is the standard 2x AA. Could that be it?

Just got my grab bag in today. It's a Dominix in BR, and I just gotta say, it is sexy. Plus I'm extra happy cause this means i can connect it to my BR Dark Liberator!

Hey thanks I didn't know there was such a difference in color from those cause I have a Ultraedge Heavy, is there a significant difference in durability?

No.  The Mid Grades have been known to loose the tip from time to time but we have a member who video taped himself hitting a tree repeatedly with a mid grade.  Durability is there with all of them.  Just be sure to put tape to secure the time in the event you duel outdoors during dark. 

Unless you are extremely brutal like Eerock and myself, you will be in good shape with a mid grade blade.

Although the tips will still come off on the HG even with the addition of tape if you duel hard enough.  Just keep that in mind.

In my experience mid-grades bend a bit, heavy grade is more solid.  I've hit both types of blade on objects really hard and left barely a mark on the blade.  Low temperatures seem to make them more vulnerable to damage in my experience.

Fortunately I ordered and received my new Dark Liberator V3 in Arctic Blue.

It's a good thing I ordered it when I did because it seems like it may have been one of the last too.  8)

I have to tell you, this product is absolutely fantastic, and that is coming from someone who originally did not think very highly of the Liberator-Models.  While the regular Liberator still doesn't do anything for me, I am so glad I received the Dark Liberator as this thing is seriously spectacular.
Everything about it is beautiful and well crafted.
I'm a big fan of the Dominix and Phantasm models but the Dark Liberator brings a whole new emphasis to the cosmetic factor of a black-anodized body.  It looks so smooth that it looks more like an antique than a battle-ready saber, like something an extremely wealthy aristocrat would use.

The hilt, as described by many owners on the site, is extremely well balanced, arguably the most well-balanced saber manufactured, the slightly concave middle makes for a really nice spot to hold.

Although the hilt is very simple in design, it has just enough beauty to it that actually benefits from the lack of complex oddities like the sheath on the Consular or the doo-dads on the Guardian.  The feel of the hilt is reminiscent of a Japanese sword, at least to the extent of a really expensive almost antique sword that has its guard absent.  I'm not really sure if there is a correct name for it.  It's kind of like that sword used by "that one guy" in Kill-Bill during the club fight-scene with the Crazy 88's.  Anyways...

It's in Standard Setup but I'm not sure if I could send this back in to have it converted to sound?
It is a V3 body but I'm not sure if Ultrasabers can connect a Li-ion battery pack and the Obsidian or does it specifically have to be Li-ion in the first place?

My only gripe with it is that I ordered a Heavy Grade blade as opposed to a Mid-Grade blade which would make the Arctic Blue color look way more vibrant than how it appears.  Unfortunately, I do not have any regular mid-grade blades in my possession other than 2 32' Ultra-Edge Mid-grade blades which look okay, but I'm more of a 36' fan.  In addition, the emitter, while cool and adds character to the hilt, is incredibly uncomfortable on the hands unless, of course, I wear gloves.

Other than that, this hilt is SICK!
In fact, I may even do my first video-review on this product out of sheer excitement and support especially in consideration to my prior disdain for the design.

Roger, Wilco.  Mine's due to arrive by the middle of next week.  Shipping from California to Canada is quick (3-4 days).  Shipping within my own province, once here, leaves much to be desired - 2-3 days, due to no local FedEx and a required subcontracting to a local courier.

Oh well, an average of 6 business days to my neck of the woods is still pretty good.

Ended up with the Initiate LE v3, I'm dissapointed yet satisfied because this saber is actually quite comfortable for me, even though it's rather on the smaller side, definitely going to my toss around hilt.

The options I went with were: purple led, ultra edge heavy, covertec knob.
The saber has a few scuffs but nothing I'd complain about even if I bought it non grab bag style.
The purple led is bright, but since it's a rather darker color it fades out near the tip if blade, I'm fine with it though, it's not a big deal.

I'm partial to that aluminum/gold combo.  Prefer the emitter of the Shock LE, but still think the Initiate v3 is cool. 

Hey that is an awesome hilt and the color is mind blowing.  I have an Aeon LE v3 and I totally love this color scheme....and your color choice was a bold and yet wise move.  The silver and gold will definitely make your blade color stand out....I am totally digging the gold covertech knob as well......Remember this is a grab bag after all and it is a toss up...To many people are getting their hopes up by seeing a few high end hilts in the photo, BUT this is not always the case....but still a V3 is a great grab!!  I LOVE IT! 

also Point for the blade color choice...I have a Dark War Glaive in DVA and LOVE THIS COLOR!!

I really like this hilt actually, the more I spend time with it, the more I like it. It is a bit short, but it's not bad in the 2 hands. I like how slim the hilt is, and how it feels being worn. not heavy not bulgy. I'll definitely enjoy this for awhile.

So, I thought I'd echo an earlier thread documenting Grab Bag scores. What have you gotten from the 2012 late November Grab Bag? I got my first one today- November 30th.

I got a Dominix V2 in Guardian Blue. 4 AAA batteries. No sound. No color discs. Two tiny spots of silver where the black has been scuffed on the emitter's top edge. It gives it character.

I am under the impression/suspicion that the picture attached to the Grab Bag choice is really the picture of at least some of the GB selection. So, the fourth one in from the far right I got. Anyone want to post the picture? My wireless is getting stomped on today by the businesses a block away.

BTW, I also got my Aeon V3 with sound and FoC also in Guardian Blue. Very nice piece, I'm very happy with it. I requested Violet Amethyst for the FoC, which is not an option. I got what looks like Arctic Blue for FoC (I am color-blind, but my wife will know when she gets home). I am very happy with the FoC.

I suppose I'll have to buy a coupler to make a zany silver and black staff one of these days.

Generally I use the soundless grab-bags for heavy duty combat and my sound sabers for light sparring

Hey saberforum! I got my grab bag today at work! :) It's an Initiate v3 LE, in Guardian Blue (I asked for it) No covertec.

I plan on doing my first saber video review later today, wish me luck! I'll link to the video later on after I actually do it.

Just to let you guys know.  the grabs don't come with sound.  There can be some pretty cool ones but none, except the chosen one, have sound.  just a quick note for the newer guys.

I'm very impressed with this hilt, I was surprised to find how much I like it after actually having one, as before, when I'd only seen pictures of the V3 initiates, Dominixes and Aeons, I wasn't fond of the necks however, I was glad to let the force guide me to this saber in the grab bag :)

Yeah, I know they aren't supposed to come with sound, but I thought I'd be thorough.

I'm not used to weapon hilts being slippery, someone on a WMA board recommended "rubber tape" apparently available at Lowe's, etc. I'll have to try that out.

It's also strange using something with a perfectly round handle, hee hee. I'm so used to real swords.

I recommend leather wraps or the addition of a box. I find boxes, despite some people's distaste for them, provide me with an excellent gripping point. :)

Very nice! My first was a CG Standard Battle Saber, I got that at the same time I bought my CG Aeon V2 :p

My First Grab Bag stories, ahh, the memories.... :) Mine was a GB SI V2. I specified the color, as I recall. Second was a Dominix V2, specified BR, followed by another SI V2, also specified in BR to be gifted out. Somewhere in the mix there was also an Archon V1 to be gifted. That one was the real surprise. lol I specified AB thinking that a new color would prevent a PVC hilt. Much to my and the recipient's happiness, I was proven wrong, and he got a nice piece of history. Something like the 3rd or 4th to last PVC too.

If I do, and they honor the request for it to be CG, I will be binging off the walls. I know it's like a million to one for odds, but can you imagine a set of Vader/Heiland sabers in CG and EG?

That was a reference to myself and the fact that Jacen's saber is normally a hilt similar to Vader's (with a green blade, of course).

I have personally boxed and shipped at least 10 Grab Bags with sound (not on accident).  So Grab Bag can have sound.  But the odds are that happening are very, very, very, very, very slim.  Don't expect it.

Well I guess I was wrong.  although I do foresee a large amount of grab bag orders incoming due to this information.

Placed order for my grab bag 2 days ago, now today there is a sale.  Last time I placed an order was a few days before the black friday sale.  I think I should announce when I am ordering something, so people know to wait a few days cause there will be a sale after I place my order.

What would the opposite of luck be?  Cause I have it!  Oh well love my Ultra Sabers and I'm still happy with them cause the prices are the best around anyways.

Nekesus, you're probably right. And don't feel bad about being wrong, everybody I've ever talked to believed that sound in a Grab Bag was not something that happened. We only knew of the two occasions, and had all sort of assumed it wasn't done. Either way, as Deep said, not very many go out, so it's still pretty legendary if you land one. :) Good luck to those with Grab Bags incoming!

Christovski, I'm in the same boat as you, I just got my grab bag yesterday, put in the order a few days before that.

Can;t beat the price for the grab bags, good start for anyone's collection!  I'm hoping since I ordered my first saber in CG, then received my totally random grab bag in CG, that my new totally random grab bag will be a color other than CG!  I personally appreciate the randomness, it can lead to interesting combinations you might not think of otherwise!  Like that GB Dominix posted earlier, blue looks so snazz with the all black hilt, wouldn't have thought of that combo before.

I've gotten a lot of Green hilts too, though for random events unrelated to grab bags. I'm beginning to think Nero is behind it somehow....  lol

Well, that Dominix v2 grab bag changed my mind a little. I really like it because it's so slim and plain. The black plating is beautiful and makes it feel slightly different than the straight aluminum hilt I have. I went through US's site again last night looking around. There is not a single hilt I would dislike now knowing what I do about the slim and plain-ish Dominix V2. As a matter of fact for me now it is just a matter of how many doo-dads are attached to the hilt.

I bet your right about the hilt boxes Manroon. They would give a hand some seating ability.

I am now simply uniformly excited about my next Grab Bag getting here Tuesday of next week. Whatever it is will be amazing.

I tried something with this last grab bag order, in the comments box I put "How about something interesting for me?". If it was ignored, I still get a saber hilt, if it was heeded, then maybe I'll get something well, interesting. Maybe an RGB with only one working button/LED, heck, maybe a trashed yari extender and an Initiate. It's all good.

Oh my word, I dunno what I'd do if I ordered a Grab Bag and it came with a Yari Extension. I'd die of the awesome. lol

@Nero: I suppose it's fitting I have so much of my Master's preferred blade color, isn't it? lol Still. My personal colors shall remain SRD, FO, and SY. In that order. Such has Manroon's history been written.  8) Though If I ever come across something that meets my mind's eye of Ice Blue (something halfway between AB and AS with the Blue Disc in it) that will also be part of the list, I think. ;)

It is fitting!  It's cool to see that you still love FO so much, since it's not a terribly popular color on here (from what I've seen anyway).

I think I'd like to get a FO saber in the near future, I got a nice orange Gamcolor filter I put in my Adegan Silver Dark Initiate V3 that looks rather good, I like the 'torch light' color of the hue, it is very much a fire orange!

The color discs that came with it were pretty meh, but the yellow one does a very convincing Sentinel yellow, though dimmer of course because it is a filter on a white LED instead of actually yellow.

Yeah, FO is a really underrated color. It looks fantastic! I really need to rip that POS Econo board back out of my Prophecy so I can start running the color again. That saber was a blast with the Econo sound and flicker effects, but it just never works. Too fragile. I think I've only managed to swap batteries without breaking it somehow twice. lol Just not enough space, and selling it to buy a V3 CE (whenever they come out) with all the bells and whistles just doesn't make much financial sense to me.

At the very least keep the old one (since it's your baby!) and think about saving up for the V3 version down the road.  The V3 edition really is excellent... I actually find it superior to the V2.

I'll admit, I want a V3... I love those bells and whistles, but I can't justify another duplicate hilt, and even if I could I do have that old plan for a Dark Proph V3 sanded into a Dark LE style with a DVA Blade and Green AV switch. No idea on the FoC color. lol And of course, now it would need recharge as well. I think I've more or less dropped that plan though. As the GF and several others have pointed out, I have plenty of sabers, and another incoming soon. It's likely the Graflex will end out my last real saber purchase, with only an occasional Grab Bag or custom build after that. Because I do want to do another custom build / conversion. ;) Plus, I'm just a little sentimental. Constance and Toepick were my first Ultras.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that I got an Aeon (v1 I think) on friday.  Can't believe it arrived so quick after just ordering it on monday - and I live in the UK - v v impressed!

I ordered a grab bag as I missed out getting a graflex in the sales, had no idea what to get, but really wanted a saber of some form.  That morning the grab bags returned so figured that was fate!  Ordered one with a mid grade blade but left the choice of colour to the force as I figure on getting a graflex or a guardian in blue in the near future but dodn't have any further preferences.

When it arrived at work I opened it up at my desk with everyone looking on, and I have to admit I was a little disappointed to see it was an older, lower rate saber through the bubble wrap (considering I would have saved myself $1 had I ordered it outright rather than as a grab bag).  However as soon as I turned it on I was very happy!  I've not owned a saber before, so the feel of it, the weight of it and the general look of it was new to me and I couldn't have been more pleased.

This will not be the last lightsaber I purchase from Ultrasabers, and the way in which the business cards left my desk within minutes, and the amount of people I've talked to about it I'm fairly certain that there will be a few more sabers winging their way to Belfast in the near future. Personally I am looking to save up for a Guardian with sound and a Guardian blue UltraEdge blade and silver FoC and a blue illuminated AV switch.  In the meantime I will happily while away the hours with my Aeon and try and learn a few techniques.

Cheers mate!  I was never sure of a green saber to be honest unless it was on a Qui-Gon type hilt, but I was just really taken back by how good it looks.  I love the way it comes out so bright on the pictures - and that was striaght out og the box without having to chnage the batteries.

It's definitely changed my thoughts about Green sabers, and made me hunger for more products from Ultrasabers!

Very nice! I have the same saber, only not out of a grab bag, very happy with the hilt, I like how thin it is, although mine is modified a bit now!

What's funny is, there was never a V1 version... but you're right, definitely an Aeon V2 LE.

Sometimes I think it is easier to refer to them as sound capable vs sound incapable sabers.   How can we have a version 2 when there was no version 1.  I also find it funny when people say that V2's cannot have sound and then someone chimes in "what about the Archon V2?"

Nah, that's even harder. I just prefer to use the actual name and avoid generalizations like the one you mentioned.

Hi all.  My mega grab bag order arrived today.  Here are the results, with regular prices:

1.  RGB Dark Prophecy v3, $120+$90 (RGB)
2.  BR Aeon LE, $70
3.  VA Dominix V2, $65 +$5 (VA)
4.  AB? Initiate v3, $60 +$5 (?AB)
5.  AB? Dark Initiate LE v3, $65 +$5 (?AB)

I'm not 100% sure that the Inititates are Arctic Blue, but when I put it side by side with my Guardian Blue Guardian, they definitely looked lighter.    ::)

Compared to the regular pricing, I didn't score any truly exceptional treasures...save one.  The only Dark Prophecy "RGB" listing is in the "build your own/complete (empty) hilt" section of the site.  I looked up what RGB costs to add to the Manticore and used that value.  The Dark Prophecy looks very unassuming in pics, but is quite striking in hand...pardon the pun.  Also, it may be a one-off RGB, which is cool.   8)  Don't get me wrong, the other 4 sabers are still more valuable than the grab bag price, but more comparable to a deal of the day discount.

4 of my 5 were actually in the grab bag photo on the site.  The best of the bunch (Dark Prophecy) wasn't.  Although I didn't snag the Manticore or Vader I had hoped for (by playing the odds and ordering 5!), I am pleased overall.  These sabers are better suited to a newb swinger/dueler (me) and will be my "practice" sabers.  I might even try my hand at some home-grown customization, while keeping my Graflex, Guardian, Monarch, and ConsuLord crown jewels pristine.   8)

The Dark Prophecy is a V2. They had three finishes for them: Nickel Plating (CE), Dark, and regular. I was thinking of get one of the CEs with RGB, but they released the v3.

any suggestions on disk combinations?

instead of using the color disks you may want to get a swatch sample of lee color filters. if you do a search of "lee filters" it should bring up a butt load of posts and so many different colors to choose from. i have two books of swatches and i have literally spent hours trying different colors in my adegan silver aeon v3.

This saber has put an end to my debate, I love the look of the standard blades over the Ultraedge, the CG is an Ultraedge heavy-grade, while the GB is the standard heavy-grade.  I just love the look of the aura you get with the standard blade, in my opinion the Ultraedge seems to alter the color a bit do you don't get the true hue of the LED.

Also while I think this GB is a beautiful color, I'm glad I got to see it in person so when I get an actual customized saber (and it will be VERY customized!), I will be getting it in AB as it is more the color I have in mind.

the disks suck.get lee filters

The only disk I liked was the yellow which got a very good Sentinel Yellow hue.  The others were pretty meh.

I had some Gamcolor and Roscolux filters I used to make some great colors, but be aware that the more saturated the color, the dimmer the blade, I made an awesome hybrid of VA and DVA that was gorgeous in the dark but under bright light it was almost unnoticeable.

Duh.  Staff options didn't even occur to me.   ::)  Thanks guys!  Despite my growing collection, I'm still just a Youngling in saber matters...  :-[  ;) i 

wow, that's a lot of grab bag update goodness at once.

Like I said before, the slim aeon V2 hilt has grown on me, I think you guys will like them too. Very easy to hold onto, very easy to spin. I am already thinking of customizing my Dominix V2 with a leather "gangimaki" style handle. (Do a search on gangimaki if you want to see a something very adaptable from a Japanese sword wrap). Also considering laying down some wires/metal bits into the area between the emitter shroud and the switch housing using some epoxy putty I have laying around. I think it would be nice to have one hilt that looks like a prop for display somewhere, and if I do it myself from a grab bag then there are no worries if I botch it a bit-or want to pop a blade into it and take it for a twirl.

Grab bags came in! An Aeon LE v2 in GB, an Aeon v3 in BR, and a SI v3 in GB. Very, very pleased with this lot.

Got the Dark Initiate in FO...but the pommel has me confused haha.

That's the sound pommel, though your saber doesn't have sound, so it looks sort of funny. Donut saber? *shrug* Fire Orange is nice though. :)

Yeah I figured I go check the youtube video out on the saber and saw that. It's kind of funny, but plan on changing it with a Dark Catalyst pommel. Yeah I'm liking the Fire Orange. It's a very nice saber altogether, but when does US disappoint haha.

Ordered a coupler and some 24" blades to join my AS Dark Initiate V3 with sound to my newest grab bag, a normal Initiate V3 in GB!  Never thought I'd get the polar opposite to a saber I already owned, now I have the chance to make a pretty sweet yin-yang style staff!

Here are a couple of pics of my grab bag. It's a Dark Initiate V3, and I can honestly say that I'm surprised with it. I love it!!! Seriously, the Initiate line had never appealed to me before, but I'm really pleased with it. It's actually longer than I thought it would be, and I really do like it.

No matter what the saber is i plan on modifying it after getting it so I will post again when i get it and share the awe and wonder when it comes as well as the transformation as it happens into what it will become.

I love my bellicose, I would grab the bellicose pommel from the site, but that's just me. It also looks quite nice with the Guardian pommel and the Archon and Consular pommels, and I would think that the round Malice pommel would look nice there as well.

Just ordered my first Grab Bag and first saber all together. Got CG with a UEHG. Can't wait. Pics will be shown when it arrives.

Ordered my first saber - and because I was indecisive I got a grab bag for fun!  I specified a purple color, because I planned on using it for Rebel Legion purposes and goes with my character.  When it got here the bottom of the battery pack had broken, but because they're awesome they fixed it right away and sent it back to me.  So now you can all see the grab bag I got :P

I completely forgot to post what I did with my last grab bag!  Since it was the perfect Yin to my previous built-to-order saber's Yang, I bought a coupler, some 24" blades and made a staff! 
The Dark Initiate LE v3 w/ sound I ordered specifically, the GB normal Initiate V3 was my latest grab bag, not long after the dark initiate!  The GB is much more intensely deep dark blue, the pics make it look more like AB.

Dominix V2. I'll be honest I really wish it had been a V3 so it was sound capable but it's a grab bag, what can you really expect? I gotta tell you though, wielding it throughout the day is making it grow on me.

Got my Grab Bag in same time as my Dark War Glaive.  

Grab Bag was an Initiate v3 in Consular Green! (I think)  Maybe someone can confirm for me?  I'm pretty excited about it.  I can add it to the Initiate I already have and get a pretty sweet Christmas Staff (red & green).  :D

I've gotten 3 grab bags now, and each of them has been a Dominix V2 - all in the same LED color - Guardian Blue.

Im on the fence. I love the saber, but wish my random was a little more..well..random.

The far right saber, I've obviously scratched up trying to get the switch out so I could see how it was wired. The others are pretty flawless.

Someone get this man a staff coupler!! That is odd that you got the same saber three times though - that's definitely the stranger side of random! All the same, they look great!  :D

definitely need a coupler for those of versions some weathering and gold painted rings would make the standard look great imo

You could give one to a friend or relative who likes star wars for a birthday or something.. it would blow their mind to get something that cool. OR what I was thinking is you could attach a D-ring or Covertec wheel to them and wear all three on a costume sort of like Starkiller. You could customize each one with different stuff like a wrap on one and weathering/battle scarring on another and you could add a claw to one. Another option would be to buy an LED module (not the MLS unit, those won't fit in that hilt) and choose your own color, then you just pull the one color out and save it for a future project and put the new one in. Well, there's a little more to it than that, you need the right amount of current, don't want to blow out a red LED on a blue LED set up, but it wouldn't be too hard.

I chose a grab bag first to see the quality of the hilt and the durability and intensity of the heavy ultraedge blade (figured i should be better safe than sorry) before investing more money in one with sound (although i may end up doing it myself if it's not too complicated to pull off  ::))
I didn't score big (in fact i probably only saved 5-10$ from the cost of directly buying it), but i'm pretty happy with the Initiate V2 in GB i got (hope i got the lingo right ;)), it only has a couple of small, barely visible on the metallic finish, scratches near the pommel, which i will cover when i customize it for my girlfriend's son.

Not to be rude, but that is an Aeon V2. The Aeon/Dominixs have longer hilts than the Initiates.

what you have there is a Aeon v2 not an initiate. the initiate hilt is in the area of 9 inches long and the Aeon is around 12 inches. a very nice dueling saber and also a very popular one. i'm pretty sure your girlfriends son will love it one way or the other.

Oddly enough Akos_Amun, I ALSO just bought a friend a DIY Dominix LE v2 for xmas in Blazing Red, so that's a total of 4! Dominix v2's that have been shipped here in the last 3weeks haha. At least his was meant to be a dominix :)

My first one does have a covertec clip. Im probably gonna follow eerock's advice and get the coupler and make it a staff. I have to figure out what size blades to order too since I havent gotten any as of yet. It looks like the phantom says it comes with 32" blades but I cant find that part on the website. The other non-LE will get a 36" blade for sure.

My first grab bag, and my second ultrasaber, arrived earlier today. I got and Aeon v2 in GB, with I think the 36" blade. Here it is below next to the Initiate v3 LE, in AB with the Initiate blade, that I got myself for christmas. I didn't bother photographing both of them lit up as they appear almost identical on my lame phone cam. They are very different in person, though. Photos do NOT do them justice. I have to admit I was hoping for a different colour entirely instead of a different shade of blue, but I am not disapointed in the least! In fact, I'm not even sure which of the blue's I like better... they're just soooo preeeetty... :P

As you can see, the Aeon is a lot slimmer, and longer, than my Initiate, but I was actually most surprised at how much lighter the Aeon was (even without the extra weight of the Bellicose pommel! :D). This seems to make the extra weight of the longer (and thereby heavier) blade a bit more noticeable.
Totally got to pimp that Aeon hilt, now.  8)

Man that blade is long, though only because I'm so short, and probably too used to the Initiate blade now... except, NOW I feel the Initiate blade is a bit too short for me. I'll probably grab a 32" with my next purchase... my birthday IS coming up soon, so I'm gonna have to start saving. ;D

I'm considering getting a grab bag for my first saber and was wondering if you can choose DVA? Would I just have to choose the VA option and then buy the additional 5 Requisition Charge's like you would for a custom saber?

Good question! While I don't know the "official" answer I would assume most likely not as DVA is a by request option on regular saber purchases, so I would doubt there are many just lying around. Grab bags started as just plain random, then they offered a choose your desired color option for a little extra, but I don't see them making a lot of extra effort for a grab bag, the point is that it's cheaper because they have less to worry about. I have both VA and DVA and either my VA is leaning toward being DVA or my DVA is a little rosy but they are pretty close to the same. I know others have had a big difference in the color, but for me they are similar enough that others wouldn't really notice. I think you'll enjoy VA honestly, it's a great color.

I recently just purchased my first saber! Yay for grab bags! I bought two actually, one for me and one for my girlfriend. I'm not going to be posting pictures because 1. I got a Dominix V2 in Guardian Blue, and a Aeon V2 in Sunrider's Destiny, which is pretty much just like the pictures AronZ posted - but my Aeon is SD. 2. I don't know how. lol I'll learn how soon for future saber posts.  ;D I'm hoping to purchase a DVA Dominix V3 LE with sound/blue AV switch once I find the cash!

Also bought a grab bag this weekend.  Im excited to see what comes, either way ill be happy, but i do find it interesting that this weekend also the obsidian sound board 3.0 has come out...perhaps US needs to liquidate the old soundboards since all new saber with sound will come with 3.0.  Fingers are crossed!...will post when i receive it whatever it is.

That saber in yellow looks snazzy!  Hm, I may need an actual SY in the future, I use the color disc in my AS saber for yellow, but its not quite that vivid!

It's definitely a great colour. And the hilt is really lightweight, perfect for a stunt saber, or an offhand saber with perhaps a smaller blade

Got my grab bag today...an aeon of course, but im happy...i wouldnt have ordered a grab bag if I wouldnt have appreciated an aeon.   I think it may have a slight flaw tell me your thoughts?  the grooves arent yellow so I know its not an LE but they arent bright either sort of dull and yellowish...take a look at the picture below.  that said with my rewards and the 15% sale i used i only paid 47$ and that was with shipping so I paid less for the actuall saber than i did on my kids hasbro one from target for 35$  Now my collection consists of a Gaurdian Blue Overlord with FOC to green and Obsidian installed and An Aeon in Blazing red both blades have heavy ultraegde blades.  i noticed the aeon has a much better feel for dueling than does my overlord....smaller and lighter.

The aeon isn't mhs so it's not as wide as things like the overlord and reaper etc.
I think it was going to be an le then something stopped them from finishing off the anodisation, perhaps a cancelled order or a cosmetic flaw elsewhere on the hilt, hence the not so bright highlights.
But it definitely is a nice lightweight stunt saber.
Still in two minds whether or not to sell my SY one and use the money for an obsidian guardian or something...

Interesting... I've never seen grooves anodized like that before. I think Moebius is right - it's an LE that was never finished. Here's a point for sparking my curiosity.

The aeon le v2 that I have is very similar. The anodization was probably too pale so they went into the grab bag bin. I like it though, gives it a subtlety that the bright ones don't have.

Its too pale for me...i was thinking of painting the grooves black...i dont know what to use though, i want something that will stay on the saber and not rub off.  I thought Testors plastic model paint might do?  Also would really like slits around emitter for Crystal chamber but am highly leary of doing it.  Any customization i would do  need to look factory and professional...not like I took a grinder and cordless drill to it randomly.

Was originally going to just order another blade and some Li-ion batteries during the 15% off weekend but couldn't justify paying shipping for just that so I got myself my second saber and my first grab bag.  It's an Aeon LE V2 in Consular Green.  I actually like the look of the V2 over the V3, but I only wish the pommel was MHS.  Didn't plan on getting sound for it so thats not a big deal.

Looks to be like those above with the "not so yellow" grooves but I like it better than the pics of those with yellow at least.  This to me looks like a true gold color. And the green goes great with the gold i think.  :)

Nice Aeons guys. This makes me want to go for another Grab Bag just for fun. Might go either Arctic Blue or Consular Green. Not sure yet. Though mine will be with a regular Heavy Grade blade.

From the left it's an arctic blue Dominix LE V2, a sunriders destiny Aeon V3, a consular green Aeon, and a consular green Raven with a bellicose pommel and no claws. The raven is especially cool. It has a few knicks but it looks great. I'm gonna get some claws for it in my next order. Maybe swap the MLS out for a red or purple. The raven is very sith-like and may look weird in green after I put the claws on. Maybe it just makes it even cooler though.

Here are the blades. From the left it's HG,HG,UEHG, and UEMG.

I like the UEMG best myself. It's light and gives a great look with no light-in-a-tube effect. I even think it looks good in blazing red. The UEHG is ok if you need a heavy grade blade. But be aware the color will fade a little and the edges will be visible unlike the UEMG. On the normal heavy grade blades the edges are quite noticeable as you can see in the pictures. But these look best when the lights are off and some people prefer them for select colors. (I also have a normal MG blade, which I think looks about as good as the UEHG. Just in another way.)

As for the colors, I love the consular green even if I thought I wouldn't. It's very vibrant and powerful. The sunriders destiny isn't the color for me. Maybe it's because it's not in the movies, but even my girlfriend find it to be a little to special. The arctic blue is better. I'm getting a guardian blue to compare at some point because I think the fuller color might appeal more to me.

First time to post here, I recevied my grab bags I bought during the Super Bowl Sale yesterday.  I am VERY happy with the hilts that I received.  I requested 3 Grab Bags and specified the LEDS to be two in AS and one in BR.  I received a Aeon (AS), a Prophecy CE (BR) and and Archon V2 (AS)!    Pretty Excited as I was not expecting the last two at all, THANKS US!    I added Lee Filters to the two AS hilts and I couldn't be happier with the the results.  I mainly just ordered these for some cheap combat sabers but was pleasantly surprised with what I got.  The only defects I can really see is the hilt near the pommel on the Archon is kinda scuffy and the Prophecy doesnt have the gold screws and one of the side "light holes" is not drilled out.  The Aeon is pretty much perfect and I have found it is a great hilt to wield.

Like I said I am really happy with my grab bags and I really love the versatility of using the Lee Filters to get the different colors.  Thanks to everyone who has posted on the forums which Lee Filters work best as that really helped me a lot.   The reason I requested one hilt with a Red Led is you can't really make red with Filters.  The Blazing Red is really blazing as you can see in the pix.

Hope my post was okay and not too many pics, I am brand new to the forums and the community so be nice :-)  If anyone has any tips or advise I would be glad to hear them.

I just got my grab bag today, not even five minutes ago! I was in shock when I get a Raven, sadly without the claws and a different pommel, but this is still sick! I ordered a Fire Orange for the color, so it matches quite well. As soon as I figure out how to upload pics I will!

That's the thing, with a grab bag, you get the first thing they grab off the shelf/bin that matches your color choice (if applicable). I've had three grab bags so far...a Dominix V3 when everyone else was getting V2s and colored hilts, an Dark Initiate V3, and more recently a Dominix V2.

There seems to be no particular rhyme or reason behind the hilts I got because a grab bag is....RANDOM! Don't get me wrong, seeing Archons and Ravens pop up is making me want to order a couple of grab bags. Still, a grab bag is not a guaranteed hilt.

That's what I mean, don't get me wrong sometimes you can get a great saber in a grab bag, but it would have actually been cheaper in my case to buy the Aeon specifically. Not sure if ill get another grab bag again...

Got my first Ultra Saber in the mail yesterday. An Archon V2 in Violet Amethyst. Gotta say, pleasently surprised by this lucky grab bag. I even got Pics. Forgive the messy hair though, its been a rough day and I CBA to shower again. Also.. I MAY have made a custom filter to change the color to something more along the lines of Fuschia. Also, my good camera is on the charger. So for this one, Ya'll get the aweful webcam!

I just ordered my first ultrasaber as well as it being a grab bag, went completely random on color as well. I also plan on converting it into a lightwhip as i have my two sabers picked. I cant wait til it gets here. And the main reason i went with the grab bag was for my cosplay character.  Who, to make a long story short, carries around a lightwhip, which was formerly his mentors (a grey jedi/paladin whos whip also has a setting for a lightsaber blade), that was given to him when he was 8 and was leaving his homeworld to be trained by the jedi temple

Lucked out and got a Dominix V2 LE. That's my favorite stunt saber anyway. Now I got two of them and let my brother have my Blazing Red custom one and he loves it. Sun Rider's Destiny is a stunning color and it really is more of a teal green. That's what my mom and brother thought anyway. So here are some pics. I'm really happy with what I got. I can always get a stunt Archon and Graflex in the future. The Graflex will be my brother's as well.

My grab bag came in today also! Clawless Raven in BR with Aeon/Initiate pommel. I swapped the pommel off for my Arbiter one that I had on my Libby, and now I've got a sweet Battle Raven. I'll post pics later.

Couldn't wait an longer, i just ordered my grab bag in VA. My BiL decided to get a CG Dominix V3 after, he did not want to chance getting another of the same saber.. Super pumped to see what it's going to be, i don't really have any real expectations but i would love to see something on the higher end! i would lover to see a Raven or Archon!

I wish I coulda gotten something higher end though. Oh well. Already going to customize my new Dominix. Flange pvc piece with the middle painted gold and the top painted silver. =] It'll look good when its done.

Very nice ....my wife has a black one similar to this in VA.....I have a Aeon v3 and to be honest I find the v2 to be the better of the two.  I love the slim feel in the hands and to me feels like a lightsaber should.  I am thinking of getting one of these down the road.  With this saber there are so many possiblities.......so many ways to customize them...EXCELLENT Saber my friend!

Very nice. One of my favourite looking 'sabres, and I absolutely agree with you about the simplicity of it. It looks great in Guardian Blue - not a colour I'd given much thought to getting, but it's a great match to the Aeon.

just got my first ultrasaber, and the grab bag was a CG raven with no claws. almost flawless, except some very small scuff marks near where the claws attach, but they are barely noticeable. I'll upload a picture once i figure out how lol

The way the light is hitting the hilt it almost looks purple, I think a purple iodized raven would look so sick! Sick grab bag!

I am a huge fan of this hilt more so now that i've handled it, feels really nice to wield and is well balanced. i will go more in detail with a review and better pics when i get a chance.

Nice score. I got one in a grab bag as well SY .  I really
liked that saber so I bought another Archon v2 and made
a staff. The one end is used as a crystal chamber. It looks
sick. I'll post pictures when I figure out how.  :-\

It was always one of the sabers thats stood out least. Only recently it started to appeal to me and now that ive had one in my hands its one of my favorite hilts look and feel wise.  I think I like it with the lower profile pommel that I got compared to the bulky one that comes standard with it. Id like to make a crystal chamber where the choke is I think it would look sweet!
