So this is my second grab bag type saber I got for the free saber on 200 dollar order deal. It's got a slanted emitter, and looks almost exactly like a dark PVC version of my Prophecy, which is really cool. The blue color is super bright, I've always been pleased with Ultrasabers' guardian blue, even after the new Arctic Blue came out. You can also see what a cool look it has with the slanted emitter. In my opinion that makes it look sharper, more like a sword and less like a flashlight (not that ultrasabers without this look like that, I'm just saying lol )
Did I mention how cool the blade looks?
Here's a close up on the hilt:
The white grooves were clearly machined after the saber was painted, a tactic Ultrasabers has now perfected on the Dark lightsabers to very, very considerable effect. So I guess this model is kind of historic! lol. The slightly more ridged nature of this blade is cool, and makes it a little more interesting than just a straight piece of plastic or metal, which would be a lot cheaper, so its cool that they do them like this, even just for a free saber. The button, as you can see, is still nice and recessed so you cant hit it accidentally.
I think that's something I take for granted now as many ultrasabers as I've used, but seriously: On some of the Force FX sabers with sliding pieces, the Anakin and Windu especially, you can turn them off by accident in the middle of a duel. If you use just a normal push button on off switch instead of the recessed switch, same issue. Ultrasabers really knew what they were doing when they selected this particular switch!
All in all this is a great little PVC saber, the hilt is somewhat short, but that's my only complaint. Oh and this is a second PVC model that has a plug and not a screw on cap, so if anyone else is puzzled, that's what it is.
