Some Updates on Blue

Hey guys and girls,

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update as my time online is very limited these days.

1.  Still looking for employment as everything now a days requires a psychological online profile before you can succeed and no HR department ever calls you back so you have to call them constantly.

2.  My son was born early.  He arrived 5/22/14 at 0209 so I am on a huge sleep deficit. 

3.  Projects will continue but slower and the details will be shorter than usual but I will get them done.

4.  Planning to return to school and get a different degree in a different field.  After 17 years of being used like a toilet, I am ready to move on to something else.  This means that I'll continue to do things here but I might not be on everyday like I have been.

This annoys me more than anything while trying to find a job.  If you mess up (don't answer exactly right) on the "Personality Profile" your application/resume never even gets forwarded to the HR Department.  I miss human interaction, being able to walk into a place and actually TALK to a manager or whoever is in charge of hiring the new help.  Also, new polls of potential employers show that being out of work is detrimental to finding a new job.  Don't ask how, because most people don't go job hunting when they have a steady check, but life happens...

I was able to score a first round interview on Tuesday.  The hiring manager actually said, "I am having alot of trouble hiring PRN because most of the people wanting PRN already have a job and they usually don't want to work nights or weekends."  I swear, this is a job I was made for.  There were only 2 applicants that made it to 1st round and if they chose me, I should hear something next week for a 2nd round interview.

The best part, there was no personality profile survey.  Fingers crossed.

Well, I am currently a 0.6 FTE over 2 jobs.  I have one job that will be working about 10-12 hours per week that requires me to drive 1 hour 20 minutes.  I have a second job that will work me 20-24 hours per week that is only 50 minutes from my front door.

I just passed my Psych class today with an A.  That will give me the final prerequisite needed to get back into school for a career change.  If accepted, I'll spend the next 2.5 years in school while trying to work my 2 jobs. 

My master has awarded me a new set of weapons for my very own.  I took a picture of them and put them on the Saberholics FB page.  I would really love to see a lightsaber hilt designed to look similar to them.  I'll be sure to give myself a present when I finish school for sure. 

I plan to get back into some vids here in the future but not sure how much on builds I'll be doing.

Glad to hear things are looking up for you. I am sure it is all a challenge but you seem to have a solid plan and a good outlook on it and that is at least half the battle.

Take care of yourself and your family and don't worry, the forum and sabering community will still be here when you have the time.
