I just recieved my monarch with sound today. everything is awesome about it except for one thing. Earlier this evening it shut off randomly, i figured the batteries were probably wore out. i recharged them and put them back in and the saber came back to life. about 45 minutes after that it shut off again. it would reactivate if i pulled and reinserted one of the batteries, but only for about 8 seconds. It seems Like a battery issue to me. they seemed to charge faster than i expected. I am currently charging the batteries again to see if charging them produces the same effect. Any thought what could be causing this issue? this is my first ultrasaber so im new to this sort of thing Grin

you've probably sorted yer problem one way or another by now, but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents!

My batteries did this too. I noticed when checking the power that one seemed completey dead and the other was fully charged. I just left them BOTH on charge OVERNIGHT, this then solved the problem.. Just ignore the charging lights, they're not a good representation as far as I can tell..

all the best!

If this keeps up, write them an email letting them know the issues you are having.

If you are running your saber with sound for 45 minutes you may just be getting to the end of the battery life.  Sabers with sound and a buck puck will cut off when they lose power, instead of slowly dimming over time like stunt sabers do.  When you get below the required amount of voltage to power the LED it just cuts the whole saber off.

I agree, leave both batteries in to charge overnight to make sure that you have a full charge.  If the saber cuts off randomly after that I'd say that one of your batteries is malfunctioning but if you are able to run it for 45 minutes of "on time" that may just be all that you get.  You could always order another set of batteries online and try them out.

I also agree that the "green lights" on most chargers don't work very well.  I have another charger, not the one bought from UltraSabers that lights up green after batteries are in it for about 30 minutes, but the batteries are not yet fully charged.  Remember, all of this stuff is made in China (the batteries and chargers, I mean) and it's cheap quality stuff.  You can buy much better chargers if you want to spend some extra money.  I use a Nitecore i4 V2 charger and it works great.  Has 4 charging slots instead of 2, fully intelligent, automated charger and can handle not only Li-Ion but also Nimh batteries in most sizes.  It's handy and works well, plus it's pretty affordable.
