I have a great design already and I am going to be purchasing hardware this week.
(I refer to my introduction post if none of you have seen about the singing staff I am building out of light saber components.)
I pretty much know every part that I want to buy and I'm about to whip out my little piece of plastic with what little power it has. I will be buying three yari extensions with associated couplers and a double bladed light saber in order to build this. What I really need to know is about compatibility specifically threading on parts. I cannot proceed with my purchase without knowing this.

So very simply here's my question:
Which of the lower tier of light saber series has an MHS adaptable emitter?
Specifically: which of these models (apprentice, initiate, phantom/asm) allows me to screw in MHS compatible parts on to the top of the body where the emitter normally goes?
I will be threading a coupler on to this spot where an emitter is usually supposed to go. I know this sounds crazy but it's going to be great once I get it going on.

Help from any of you that know the parts better?

The lowest priced sabers with MHS emitters starts at the Shock on the Single Blade Sabers page.

Hi.  The Overlord also is the same price.  Suggest looking at the sabers with the length you need.  Are you wanting more streamlined or a more decorative look.  The Arbitor might suit your needs but will depend upon how much space you need for wiring.  Is a longer saber but will look good with the Yari extensions.  Would suggest the Archon but limited room for wiring and sound/color boards.  You are keeping us in the dark so is difficult to be more specific.  Also if you only need the saber body, have a look at what's available for parts in the build your own saber.  Smiley

THANK YOU, LADY AND DAUNTLESS!
I had opted for the lower end not just for price but because they matched the yari three pieces which I am also going to order. (I have figured out length and will adjusted as needed.) these are only a few dollars more so what I'm going to do is take a look at them right now to see how they match the tooling on the yari pieces in order to create a consistent look for the base. I will be going with a black base because this is going to allow me to add the modifications on top and beneath. Wink

It looks like I'm going to go with the shock, based on style.

A further review on this, means that I'm actually going to do a lot more building than I planned on because I do not want the whole shock saber. So what I'm going to do is go ahead and order the body parts in the yard parts and order the sound parts separately and go through the tedious process (which I will have to do anyway when I wire in more sound) of ordering the obsidian soundcards separately.

It does occur to me that I may be able to create a common DC power source with one of my extensions full of batteries. This would allow me to power the lights on the staff and the sound cards as well as give me a floating phantom if I want to install a high-tech bus. I will have to take a look at power requirements and battery weights to see if this is a viable option for a balanced staff.

Hi Beacon.  We will look forward to the development of your creation while providing encouragement and help where we can.  Cheesy

Here's a light side point for thinking expansively.

Cheesy

A silver lining to the long shipping wait period: my enthusiasm has not waned, and there's not much I can do until the parts get here, so I have in dogs and more research and design. I've been really busy on YouTube looking at many different companies tutorials about MHS parts and light sabers. I had no idea of the components were so basic compared to sound equipment!!!

So since I originally posted this thread, I could probably build a light saber from scratch given any parts that would create sound and light - provided somebody matched up the proper electronics for me because I suck at that. XD

I have also settled on one of three possible designs on how to have the staff create light.

I can't wait until the parts get here so I can take photos and begin the process of posting my assembly so that I can begin to reveal my plan.

Also: Light Side Points lollollol
I guess I'm going to strive for an equal number of either side points because to me there is no light and dark there are only different waveforms.
