The black private dick who's the sex machine to all the chicks is back. And he's not alone. It looks as fun as The Hitman's Bodyguard (which I loved)

You know what threw me? I thought that was Paula Patton for a second until I realised it was Storm for X-Men: Apocalypse.

YES! This looks f***ing awesome. I love the last one they did with Samuel L. Jackson. It's about time they did a sequel to it. I know the last one didn't make massive bank, but it did the Hollywood definition of making money, earning slightly more than 2X its budget. (I saw it in the theater)
Of course, it's great seeing Richard Roundtree back as the original John Shaft. And, it's nice seeing Regina Hall in it too.

I remember feeling a little let down by the other Shaft movie. Maybe my expectations were too high because it was Sam Jackson (who was perfect casting), John Singleton (who is an amazing director) a sequel to the original blaxploitation movies from the 70s as well as having Christian Bale as the baddie and Toni Colette as the damsel. I didn't think it was a dumpster fire, but I hoped for more/better. However, it seems they have injected some humour into this version which somehow works with the overall mythos and tone. Bring it on.

Yeah, I like the amount of humor that's present in the trailer.

I too like the Shaft movie with Samuel and I'm glad that they brought both Samuel and Richard to be his dad and grandfather. Alexandra Shipp is quite beautiful and she's a great addition to the movie in my opinion. Plus, like Knox said, it's Storm!

Although in the first Sam Jackson Shaft movie Richard Roundtree was his uncle not his father. Or maybe they are hoping no-one remembers that part.

Yeah, I actually was wondering how the kid was thinking his great uncle John was his grandfather, unless he just calls him that.

I don't think most will remember that nor the Samuel version except for die hard fans.
