Darth Maul B-Kick

Its not anything to do with ultra sabers and i hope i dont get my publishing rights revoked or anything like that but i can sort of do the infamous Darth Maul Butterfly Kick, ive been wondering how to do this for months because me and my mate are eventually going to attempt to recreate some of the fight scenes from the star wars saga, hope you enjoy, http://youtu.be/PabY80wxDgs

Hey, no worries...

As a matter of note, I'll be teaching how to do the b-kick on the next NCSCS DVD.    This move is the pre-requisite to a b-twist, also demonstrated by Ray Park (as Darth Maul) in Episode I.

"Pop" up more.    That's the real key to most tricks, actually...

Your standalone b-kick is fine, but it won't progress to b-twist unless you really focus on getting "airtime" for height... which will allow time for the twist.  Other options would be to generate horizontal momentum (step forward + spin & step)... apply what is called "blocking", and then attempt the twist.  And actually... "blocking" is good in most ANY case with the b-twist...

This is all hard to explain in words, but--it would behoove you to really study the motion / trick via tutorials a lot... or even watch in slow-mo how Ray Park (or any other decent to high level wu-shu artist for that matter) accomplishes the trick.

Again, I'll put a tutorial for this on NCSCS DVD#2, along with the pre-req b-kick.

My opinion is... I will not be satisfied until you can b-kick better than me.  Which isn't saying much, actually, hahahah... sooo... hmm, maybe I should say... I won't be satisfied until you can b-kick WAY higher!

Word!  Yeah, NoPacNone's channel is a great one for tricking moves, I love their channel.  As it is, there are TONS of awesome martial artist's channels out there for b-twist, etc.

Myself, I will be breaking the motions down even MORE on NCSCS DVD#2.  Only a matter of time before Caine & I can get that out there.

Yeah....I've seen the butterfly kick done many times before, and I've never nor do I intend to ever try it myself.

I can almost do it guys there's a vid on my sisters Facebook that shows it, I could probs post it on the NCSCS if I'm allowed too, I just can't land it properly and it's been non stop raining for the past month so I haven't really been able too get outside and try it. If I could show you the vid and you show me what I'm doing wrong it wouldbe much appreciated and if not all good
