Hi Saber forums, currently I'm trying to figure out everything for my Sith character Darth Therridan. To start with he would be of the Sorcerer/Assassin profession some of you may be familiar with SWTOR. But to make it a bit more interesting I want to be a Sith Pureblood human mix. In essence like Naga Sadow, So what I'm asking is for advice on creating face tentacles and even brow horns like you might see in SWTOR.

I would start with a trip to the halloween stores that are popping up everywhere ('tis the season). Look for some sort of latex items that you can re-purpose. You will not likely find exactly what you are looking for but you should be able to find something close.

Apply them to your face with spirit gum and add make-up over it to blend everything together. If I recall, Sith are kind of a red color so something in that range would be easy to find.

Halloween costume stuff is usually pretty cheap so if you go to a store with an open mind and think outside the box, I think you can get something to suit you for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the pointers, I'll definitely be on the look out for the Spirit Gum. Alas I'm going to try and steer away from going red like pureblood and try and make something match my skin tone, to better grab the hybrid vibe.

the only trick with going closer to your skin tone is being able to match that to the laytex pieces you're buying.  Now, I'm not saying to go for a pinkish hue, as that isn't very Sith in my book either, but maybe there are other ways to show the hybridization.  For example, what if having a red skin tone from the Sith Pureblood side is a dominant trait, whereas eye color and hair could be the dominant trait from the human?  I dunno, just some ideas.  Red is an easy color to pull of with makeup because it's so vibrant and it's easy to find.   Trying to match your skintone and not looking like you're wearing makeup is tough.

that's why my makeup is blues and greens for example Wink

hope this helps some.

Good advice on the Halloween supplies...though they are available year round online.

Silicone appliances will last much longer than latex but they can be a bit more expensive.

A brow piece and a pair of cheek barbels sounds fairly easy to make  Smiley

You may not be able to find a perfect match to your skin tone but something close should be achievable. You will certainly need to put make-up on your entire face, not just the latex piece, to make everything blend together. Make up can be mixed just like paint so creating the right color should be no problem.

One other thing to try is stippling. This is a make-up technique where you put the make-up on with a sponge and just dab it on your face real lightly. If you stipple different tones on your face, they do not mix but will blend and layer themselves together as a whole. It is a good technique for trying to transition between tones without actually painting your face another color. I probably did not do the best description of the technique but do a google search and I am sure you will find better instructions. I studied make-up as part of my theater classes, once upon a time, so I know this technique works well.

Good luck and I am sure you will find something that works for you. Post pictures too. I would love to see what you come up with. Half breed sounds pretty cool and unique.

Thank you all for the great advice especially you Relmeob. And the main reason I'm trying to stay away from going all red is that I have a goatee like ol naga sadow and have no idea how i'd get the skin red without making the hair look weird. Also I wouldn't try to make it completely my skin tone I don't mind putting on a base or some to give my flesh a different hue.

This is a case where less is more.

Just like makeup can accentuate the looks of a model, red highlights will draw the eye and direct the mind towards sith.

Soft red fading into your natural skin tones will grant you the desired sith without coating in red.  A wide makeup brush with a red powder cover, hit the high points on ridges, brows, nose, ears, etc. then dust up with a basic flesh tone (matching your tone) will take the shine and balance the look.

Best of luck.

If you can find a makeup student then you will be set.

I see what you're saying, just a nice touch of red flare. Makes sense.
