I am pretty sure he meant he would look for gloves with the pads and then paint said pads  Smiley

I'd go with the Mechanic gloves as suggested by master Rel. Upside to them is they're designed to be grippy - I have a pair for when I work on my car and they work well holding 'slippery' chrome wrenches.

I'm not much for following the Order.

Correct.

The mechanic's style gloves are a fantastic idea for LARP purposes.

But, actually making a glove with real metal pieces, even if it is just for display purposes, would be cool, too. It is not uncommon for someone to have one costume piece for display only and another (cheaper or more practical) piece to "play" with.

If I were you, and this is just a thought, I would make the mechanic's glove style for fun and role playing purposes. Then go about making the more realistic glove that you had in mind, and keep it for display. You can get more detailed with a display item since you do not need to worry about it getting broken or hurting someone.

Whatever path or paths you choose, it sounds like you have some good suggestions here and a good plan in mind. Have fun with it and by all means...we love pictures here Smiley

I actually agree with chicago.jedi with regards doing one for use and one for show.

Just look at the US range as a whole; there are clearly hilts that could be considered more "show" and ones more "practical" Smiley
