Hey there,
Just a quick question - I just wondered if and when the Initiate V2 (Or even the LE V2) would go back into stock? Does anyone know? I wanted to buy one sometime soon (Aside from my Catalyst, which I will be purchasing but maybe at a later date) but I've been and checked a couple times and it's able to be purchased. I'm a short gal, so for a first saber, I can't really go for anything /too/ long. I've already looked at other options, too.
It's my first saber too, so it's gonna be that "testing the waters" sort of thing. When I'm confident I can handle my sabers a little better (doing orbits, duelling with it, all that jazz) THEN I can buy something bigger, aka, my future Catalyst.

Thanks!

Your best bet will be to email Emory at [email protected] and ask him if he has a time frame for those V2's to be restocked.

If I may ask you a question, are you absolutely convinced that you want the V2 or would you consider the V3/V4.  The V2 are a bit smaller and my three kids have them, I think they are a bit small for an average adult, even a lady.  The V3/V4 lines are a bit more wider and are quite comfortable even for an individual with smaller hands.  Also with this in mind, if you ever wanted to upgrade to sound, you could do this with the V3/V4, but not the V2.  This may not be an issue for you, but it has already become one for my kids.  We will have to buy them brand new sabers to accommodate sound now.  Just a FYI there.  Hope this helps make a decision.

I don't think I'll be bothering with sound, atleast, not with this saber. It'll be purely stunt because I'll be taking it to conventions and bashing it about, practicing duels, etc.
Are you sure it'd be too small? I'm just woried that with one of the larger sabers, it'll end up being too heavy or I won't be able to do orbits with it for show. Especially because I'll be new to it all. I'm only 5"3 you see.
I did think about the Initiate V4, but again, I was scared it'd be too bulky. Especially with a 32" blade.

At 5'3" you might want to consider a smaller blade.  Maybe a 30" might be better for you, but ultimately your choice (you can request this in the comments section).  Im 5'8 and I have 32" on most of my sabers.  The V4 is only about .25" wider than the V2 (don't quote me on this I'm not 100% positive. others may have a more concrete numbers), but they are really light.  I think you will do well regardless of which saber you pick.

Think I will probably get a custom cut blade, yeah, now that you mention it. I did have a tape measure in my room and I decided compare the supposed sizes (thanks to the forum size guide) of the Initiate V2 against the V4... Here are the results. Yes, I have very very small hands. (Ignore that horrible looking burn I have too.)

Initiate V2: 8.5" long

Initiate V4: 9.8" long

Honestly, there's not much to it, so I am tempted to go for the V4... Do you think it'll be light enough for me to wield? With a 30" blade maybe, like you said.
Also, thank you, you've been a great help so far. I do appreciate it Smiley

1.3" difference on length isn't that bad.  I actually found the difference on diameter its 1.25" on the V2 and 1.45" on the V3/V4, and based on the pics you provided I think your hand size will accommodate either hilt.  The V4 will even give you the opportunity to have a 2 handed grip on the hilt, if it looks like it will be a little short, then purchase another pommel to add an additional 1-2".  I really think the 30" is probably right about what you will need.  If you have the time and not in a huge rush to buy your saber, head to the craft store and grab a large wooden dowel rod and cut it down to the two sizes for the hilts and figure out which size feels better in your hand.  You can also do this to figure out which blade length you may like.  Its a cheap way of figuring this out before purchasing the saber.

So yeah, there's not much of a difference, so you're right I could go for either hilt... I guess I'll see sometime after Christmas, when I have enough money. Maybe the V2 will be back in stock by then.
And the dowel thing... Is actually a fairly smart idea. I'm in no rush so I might just do that to be sure. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

You've helped settle my mind a little better atleast, thank you Smiley You've been very helpful.
