Warning - Minor spoilers aheadWhen I heard they were remaking Ghostbusters my initial knee-jerk reaction was "NOOOOOO!". However, after giving it some time to sink in I thought maybe they could do a good job. And then came the first trailer, which was really REALLY bad. Not because it was starring four women, but because it just wasn't funny. And since then, every new marketing release has just added fuel to the fire that the movie (with a $250 million dollar budget) is awful.
Obviously I am not one of those ignorant commentators who is hating on the movie because it is starting women. However, the job of a comedy is to make people laugh and I have seen nothing so far that proves that this movie will be funny.
Also, in movie terms, it is not a good sign that the the embargo on critic reviews lifted today, only 5 days before the official release of the movie. Anyway, click on the link for the official review from the Holywood Reporter
