I think he meant these things can actually hurt some one if use incorrectly. Kind of like accidentally getting hit with a baseball bat or golf club.  Toy sabers would mostly likely break before causing physical harm to you or some one else in a duel.

I sincerely hope you are not planning to get a saber to use for a ill purpose.

Ultra Sabers are designed for those of us whom like to duel with led sabers. They are not toys and are made for led saber combat. They offer many styles and colors. They are made tough to withstand the constant clashing of polycarbonate blades.Look up NYjedi and PAjedi on youtube to get a better idea of staged combat. Or youtube lightsaber combat. Have fun!!

Toy lightsabers range from the cheapish flick to extend sabers, to the ones with sound, to the Force FX (on the high end) sabers that you can buy at Target / Walmart / etc. They're fun, but they're cheaply made, and not very durable.

UltraSabers are designed so that you can spar with them, much like you would in a martial arts class (or fencing class). Because of this, they aren't toys for children to play with, since you could very easily hurt someone. The Heavy Grade blades that are an option are durable enough to spar against an oak boken, and as such, could realistically break bones if someone were not careful.

I'll take one Heavy Grade blade then please..... (joke)    Grin

In all seriousness, there is some good advice here already.  When someone told you they are not toys, that was true...but that doesn't mean they should be used for self defense either.  They are however, tough enough to duel and train as others have mentioned. hope that helps!

I know some hard core saber jockeys, I have had Ultra sabers for up to two years now, with the heaviest grade blade I've seen guys get cranked ribs and somehow even get gashed from combat sabers, best for stage quality fighting and dueling, but in combat one can get carried away.... with my first Prophecy I broke my best friend/dueling partners knuckle  and thats when I had to learn control of my movements and swings. They are top of the line in my opinion, but a great responsibility  to carry. My only Advice is Practice my friend.

Control, speed , and focus are all needed for dueling ! Other wise you will either hurt yourself or your opponent.you can't go crazy just swinging and arching as hard as you can. Know your target , figure the speed needed to reach it safely , aim thrust or swing. If you get blocked, then your blocked. Don't swing harder just to avoid the block. It takes a lot of self control! Enjoy the Saberplay!!

be wise and carefully, breath steady and it should come natural after some training  time, don't go for easy take downs wait for openings (more so if you can take a shot with least amount of force needed) take time on final strikes but use speed for blocking attacks, balance your skills.

This is way off topic.  Questions was answered.  These are sabers designed for people who want to fight against other people with sabers.  They are not intended for self defense applications nor does Ultrasabers claim that their products can or should be used for defense.  Topic locked.
