Soooooo.....I have had a Sentinel LE with Sound since 2016. Today after 7 years I decided to change the color of my blade. I changed it to a nice shade of Gold. Then after I wrote to my board and disconnected from the computer, the color change took for a moment but shortly afterwards, the blade went out and I had to take a battery out and put it back in again for it to come back on but a few moments later it would go dark again. I think it may be the battery. Any suggestions or an idea on what to do in the meantime?

Thanks!

9 times out of 10 the batteries end up being the issue.  7 years you say? I'm surprised your saber lit up at all. Get new batteries and if you still have problems, then troubleshoot from there. If you do that,  then you have eliminated most of the common problems and the "fix" will be easier to find!
Gold blade is a great choice.
Seven years without changing blade color?!?  I can't go an hour without changing blade color.
My hat is off to you.

Lithium Ion batteries are only good for a certain number of charges, then they'll inevitably start to go bad. Seven years is actually impressive. If it were a phone or laptop, the battery would have gone bad long ago due to the larger number of times those get charged versus something like a lightsaber.

So, I switched the battery in my Sentinel (7y/o) with the one in my Darksaber (7months old) and it does the same thing. However, I notice that after that happens if I tap the Saber's pommel against something the blade reboots and I can light it up again. But it goes dark again after a few strikes. At this point I'm thinking it's a short somewhere. Thoughts?

Yeah, sounds like it could be a loose wire. What board do you have? I'm guessing from the age that it's an Obsidian V3 or V4 with the Emerald LED driver. If memory serves, both of those boards have a wiring harness. (I've never messed with Emerald, but I have several of the Obsidian boards from that era) Since it's no longer under warranty, I'd suggest taking off the protective wrap of electrical tape they put over the connectors and see if anything on either of the harnesses came loose.
