how about A wood lightsaber? Use walnut for the body and hickory for the pommel and emitter. I think that will be my next project.

Since this is Star Wars and is totally fictional, I always had this vision of a pair of gloves with tiny emitters built into the palm and fingers, to allow half-swording a lightsaber, and also to grab an opponents blade. Imagine their surprise!!
