I am going to make a lightbayonet. I just need an E-11 blaster to measure, modify, and run around with. I called an armorer friend of mine and now I have a thirty pound pile of bayonets to draw inspiration from sitting in my living room. I will post sketches as soon as I have acquired a blaster.

Your best bet would be an old Mosin-Nagant 91/30 bayonet. Picture a pike from a fence and that's what you have.

My weapon design is under construction. It's all a matter of affording the guts.

What saber/weapon design is calling me? I have an idea in my head of a very aristocratic Jedi. I invision him as a prince from the Old Republic who studied the Jedi ways and then returned to rule is home world. This character would look very regal and elegant. His dress would not be that of the earth tone tunic but long flowing robes of blue, red and purple. He would have metalic armor with jeweled accents. His persona would scream royalty as soon as you saw him. He would be the King Arthur of the Star Wars galaxy.

The final piece would be a saber of equal royalty. Long polished silver hilt, like the Arbiter, but it would have elaborate engraving, like the engraving you see on old Colt revolvers and Winchester lever actions from the 1800's.

This costume/character would have all of the prestige of a Sith Lord but with a lightside attitude.

I've seen it done on another site where a guy made a saber like that with a rapier-style hand-guard. Looked really regal and cool. Obviously only for show with the handguard but it looked pretty sweet.

I just think the engraving part would be cool. I am not sure if aluminum can be engraved the same way steel can be. If so, there are plenty of gunsmiths out there that do the engraving, I would just feel silly sending one of these guys a saber hilt and having to explain what it is.  Cheesy

I would love Revan's lightsaber.

I can't imagine it would be... SUPER difficult but damn would it look good. It would seriously look awesome with a Revan costume.

Why is the fear of being afraid acceptable by the Jedi Order?

To me, it looks terribly uncomfortable to hold. I'd imagine those "blades" would be difficult to hold without digging into your hands over time. Even if they are thick. Of course, there are gloves for that.

Oh, you could not have a saber like that without the matching chainmail gauntlets. You simply must accessorize!!
