From a making money perspective, you're right. But if the character actually wants that sort of attention and deliberately uses it to her advantage, is that really exploitation? Anyhow, another cool pic I found:  |

I love that term, Rina! Which Twi'lek isn't though? Well, The Other Twi'lek Sith Girl. I mean, Yuthura Ban. Haven't got the pic, though. Serious and well-rounded secondary characters like her usually don't get hi-res, hi-quality art. |

Agreed. And for those saying, "But she uses her looks to do..." - she's kind of being written to the audience's gaze. She could be seductive without showing all the skin, but they use the character to sell books. It's the equivalent to swords and sorcery art that features men in plate mail while the ladies where chainmail bikinis. It's not needed, and it's not all that attractive - I find it kinda trashy myself. It's an overprevalent trope. |
