That was kinda the idea. I conceived of this on one of Kath and my earliest dates while we were walking through the streets of Chicago.

So, Jedi and Sith arrive in prehistoric times. Jedi become "protectors" of humanity while Sith look to enslave humanity and rule. Yes, Lord Logos, the major points of our history are intertwined with the Jedi vs Sith struggle. Some historical figures are potentially Jedi or Sith or owe their moment in history to shadows for either side. The modern day story could revolve around the first truly Force Sensitive human identical Quadruplets sawned by the Force and birthed by kathleen kennedy and some space witch voodoo dance creating a  Double Force Dyad…jk

Hellz NO! The Kaminoans have a rep to maintain as top notch cloners. Deviations from the standard would not be accepted and inevitably culled. And for those that want to bring up the CF99, those deviations showed marked advantages in combat that outweighed their defects. Hunter had heightened senses but was most likely prone to insubordination. Wrecker had stupid strength, but was also kinda stupid. Tech had a superior intellect and knowledge retention, but had poor eyesight and was kinda frail (typical nerd). And Crosshair had superior eyesight and patience, but was so rigid he most likely had issues coping with deviations in plans. And despite their individual pros and cons, all 4 could be paired up to counter another's shortcomings: Hunter's ability to adapt would most likely be able to get through Crosshair's stubbornness, and Tech and Wrecker would be symbiotic with their respective intelligence and strength.

Echo was omitted because he wasn't a "defective" clone, he was merely mutilated by the enemy. And Omega was merely an experiment.

Can someone give me a recap of Chopper's (C1-10P) origins? I'm at a loss to remember what era he was built.

Hi there, Chops was built by Industrial Automaton on the planet Lasan and served in the Republic Navy as a navigation droid for a Y-Wing. His ship was involved in the Battle of Ryloth and was shot down, killing the pilot and seriously damaging him. Fortunately he was pulled from the wreckage by Hera Syndulla who repaired him and he stayed with her. He became a Spectre and we see his adventures in the REBELS cartoon (and if you have a sharp eye for detail you might see him in Rogue One too in the hangar area in the Yavin 4 base).

I haven't found a specific build date but in REBELS he was considered obsolete by a few decades but he refused to accept he was "old" which resulted in his cantankerous personality.

What I find confusing is his design. He's touted as being a Clone Wars era droid.....but R2 was designed, built, and put into service of the Nubian RAF (I think) PRE-CW. Now one could make the argument that he is from a different manufacturer, hence the variations in design, but that just leads to more questions of how there aren't more astromech droid variants in-universe.

If the Series number/letter indicates just model types and sub-types then you're right there should be way more variants (as well as other manufacturers)

A rough guess as to Artoo's age is around 70 years old but with so much conflicting canon/non canon stories being posted and published it's hard to know what's official anymore. Chopper could be even older.

It would be similar to cars on the road. You have different manufacturers all with many different designs and model years all effectively doing the same thing in the same time period. I would love for this idea to become more in depth than it is.

Given R2's penchant for ingenuity and DGAF, it tells me that he been in service for a while and amassed experience....unless he has a faulty processor that makes him deviate from the normal operational parameters that most astromechs adhere to. Considering that the other 3 droids got completely pasted in short order and only he had the the notion the bypass main power to the shields. It always kinda rubbed me as a "Screw this! Get shields up then fix the whatchadidga."
