Ok so... idk this is i think pretty off topic.
has anyone ever had problems with lightsabers with flying? like airport security stopping you?
anyway, i'm planning on traveling with my lightsabers to visit a few friends cuz i think these are freakin' awesome. and i rather travel light and go carry on... but... idk about airport security, i don't want these confisicated for some stupid reason so that they end up playing with it -_-"

Put them in a locked rifle case (using TSA approved locks, of course) and then check them. You can get a cheap rifle case at Walmart. Let the person behind the counter know that they are "lightsaber replicas". I've done this, and everything was fine.

Yeah, that would really suck. Wouldn't it be funny though to see airport security beating offenders with lightsabers instead of police batons?

I talked to airport security before I flew back to the States from the Middle East. I had three sabers to bring home. After discussing it with them, I opted to put them in checked bags, and left the blades there. I had replacements shipped to my destination. Their point is that anything that COULD be used as a weapon is not allowed, and they felt that the hilts could be used as a blunt instrument to cause injury!

That's International travel for you. Thankfully for domestic travelers, things are a little more lenient. I was able to transport my firearms on an airplane recently, just had to follow the same protocols. Locked TSA case, inform TSA of weapons. Had to fill out a form for the guns, but I was able to take em. Now, if you want some scared looks in an airport, walk away from the baggage claim with a rifle case.

Let them have a look to avoid any misunderstandings and you should be fine.
