Really, really, really, really big huge massive swords weigh six or eight pounds. You might, maybe, find some silly ornate parade swords that weighed more, but that's probably about it and probably not by a whole lot.

Most people vastly over estimate how much weapons weigh, swords in particular. I don't know for sure, but we probably have D&D and things like it to thank for that. A typical big chunky broadsword will go two or three pounds.

my order shipped 2 days ago. it says weight is four pounds as well. I ordered a redemption and a grab bag. I was wondering if the two shipped together or if I will have to wait a few weeks for my grab bag. Im guessing the wait.

After research yes 4 pound is hefty for a sword you got me there, friend of mine has a claymore that we weighed on my spring scalce that goes to 80lbs (use it to weigh catfish weighed a 25 pound weight and it read 24.7 so its close) and it weighs about 9 pounds clearly this wasnt intended for long term combat however one smash to the head would kill so it could be a weapon. Modern weapons however not swords can weigh 17 pounds... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M249_light_machine_gun

However modern guns don't require the manuverability that swords need so the added weight isn't a good comparrison to use

Oh well yeah Grin that be impossible to swing a 17 pound sword around and have it be effective, though a lightsaber and sword are good a comparison but the item in question is a weapon and that is a very very large catagory. Do they weigh the box and packing peanuts and such of just the sabers I wonder?

They have to be weighing the whole package, especially since that's how they get it.

it is possibly to use a heavy sword effectively, you just have to get momentum fast. that in its self is half the skill involved.
