Another Skyfall question then...how is M able to use Bond's gun when they make point to say that his new PPK is equipt with grips that only allow him to use it?

This has no real answer.

If I had to explain it away, I'd say that it's because it's M and that's the end of the argument. lol

I love picking apart movies.

"Silva kills Sévérine." - Wikipedia

He shoots her with one of the pirate pistols.

Glad you watched the flick, one of my all time favorites.

Really? But it looked like she was still alive, and that he only shot the glass. Oh well, what do I know. Either way, that movie has quickly become one of my all time favorites as well.

I agree. One line about her having a universal override and it would be solved. How do screen writters not see all of these things that us common folk see wrong?

The screenwriters are usually working on more than one project at a time and are often being rushed to turn product out.  Therefore, errors will be made and then it is often covered by remakes or "director's cuts".

Erm, I never even noticed it when I was watching. Also, didn't Bond loose his gun during that casino fight scene?

Screenwriters are human, they make mistakes just like everyone else. It's also very hard to make a film because almost everyone has about a million different things on their mind at once lol. Fun stuff!

Why do we have to fling birds with a slingshot... did they forget they can fly?

Most are too fat and the rest are too angry to think rationally; or a combination of both.

In the gun barrel sequence of Die Another Day, how does James Bond manage to shoot a bullet straight through the barrel of the gun that is aimed at him?

I don't think any of the angry birds actually have wings, and if they do they are probably little nubby wings like a kiwi so they must resort to sling shots to get airborne. Also none of the angry birds have feet so if it wasn't for their beaks they would be more closely related to a rock or a colored potato.  Cheesy

He's James Bond and he does as he likes.  Cool

That would be a good Myth to bust.  Wink

Haha. I'm just curious, because in all of the other gun barrel sequences shown in Bond movies, you never actually see the bullet. In Die Another Day, the bullet comes flying right at you.

On Mythbusters they couldn't split an arrow with another arrow mainly because of how much they wobble while in flight, but a bullet?

A bullet is traveling at the speed of sound and takes some time before it really deviates from it's intended path.

If they setup the experiment with two of the same guns, firing the same caliber rounds exactly level to one another's gun barrel. (This would represent the miracle exception that is James Bond; the ultimate spy.)

That could give you an answer.  Cheesy

Why, in SW Episode V, when Luke is dueling Vader is there this interior catwalk and monitoring center or "fin" shaped structure in the Bespin Shaft?

Actually, upon further investigation I learned that the carbon chamber is located in that "fin" shaped structure.  But again, why is it located in such a hazardous area of the city?
Same with the catwalk where Luke gets his hand cut off.  Like, do people usually go out there to check on, I don't know, the weather, or something?  It seems like a pretty hazardous place considering there was this huge vacuum affect when Vader broke the window.
Furthermore, what is up with the tubes Luke falls down?  Are those intended to be used for trash?  Luke ends up hanging on a weather-vane conveniently located next to a port-hole.  Are all weather-vanes located next to port-holes just for the off-chance that someone may strand them self there on accident?

This is a huge question I've had for years as it was actually those scenes of Luke falling and being trapped that has perpetually made me afraid of those children play-tubes, especially the enclosed slides.

While we're on the topic, and I realize this has to do with the SW architecture and why we love it all so much, especially how there are no OSHA Compliance, or as TV Tropes suggests, but why does the Emperor have a shaft leading all the way down to the core of the Death Star II?  Sure, it looks cool and makes for cool fight scene locations, but still, it doesn't add up.
Or when Luke and Leia get stranded on the Death Star I in that chasm area.  Like, why is that there?  What purpose does it serve? Who designed it?  AVGN: What were they thinking?

I'd bring up SW I but I think that's just pushing it.  That "power generator" area is just ridiculous, especially how its located right next to a hanger bay, of all places.
