Hello SaberForum members and Ultra Sabers fans!

We're looking forward to Star Wars Celebration VI - August 23-26, 2012 in Orlando FL. As Disney experts and hosts of shows on the Sorcerer Radio Network (SRSounds.com) my wife and I would like to extend help to the Ultra Sabers community and help with planning a Disney vacation during that time (as well as any other time) as she is an authorized Disney vacation planner with Magical Journeys Travel. Feel free to contact me or visit this link and we will hook you all up as fellow Star Wars fans! Thanks! MTFBWY! - Aljon

I'm so upset I missed the last one, I'm in tampa myself and I wasn't informed before it was happening :[[[[[

If I have the resources to go next year (ie im not dirt poor) you can count on me being there.
Hopefully that far ahead I will have a tatooine sith stalker costume made, if not I'll be in my sith garb.

If I can get down there, I'd love to go. Who knows maybe I'll have my X-Wing Pilot costume ready by then too.

You know, I am really on the fence about the Celebration. Though I am a mega fan, just, not sure if it is worth it. I have been to San Diego a few times and gone to some other cons in the area, and I think they are starting to change too much for my taste. This past month, I was able to go to the Dallas Comic Con. That was, eh. Got to meet Carrie Fisher and say hi to Stan Lee again, so, that was cool. But, I have to think, was it worth it? I get to Carrie's line early to get a good spot, but of course, VIP and Priority people go first, though I was there first. And some how in the con's lack of any idea of where to put us and organize people, I get bumped back even more. Was that fair? No, but, I still waited. Oh, then of course, no photos. You have to pay extra for that one. So, we get in, talk to her, and pretty much get rushed out the door. No conversation, no nothing. Granted, I know she can be a little moody, but does the con really have to treat us like ants that are moving along a line? Then I get to Stan's line. Now, I have seen him a few times before. Great guy. Funny, energetic, just a real joy to be around. Well, I wait in line. Get through the line to the table. Of course, no photos, you have to pay extra for that. I go by the table, one guy is rushing me, the other one by him is making sure to get my stuff out and to get my autograph ticket making sure that I did pay in advance. The closer I get, the more people around him that arent even in line to begin with. One guy taking my stuff, one guy to make sure I dont sneak any pictures, and on person taking my stuff from Stan and hurrying me along. What was that? If I didnt stop myself to give him a shirt I made, I would have never been able to talk to him. That isnt fair. And could my wife get a picture of me talking to Stan? Nope, you had guys purposely moving themselves in front of cameras and waving in front of lenses to make sure no pics are taken. Would that have happened somewhere else? Say, Comic Con in San Diego? Probably not. But, that is just an example of how money hungry these things are getting. If you wanted a picture with Stan and an autograph, that would have all cost around 100 bucks. And here I am thinking that it would be a little more personal, you know, for respect for the fans. Sure people are guying to say, well, you need to consider everyone at the con and everyone meeting him. Well don’t oversell tickets then! If you can only fit in A amount of people, then fit in A amount of people in regards to why everyone is there. I just don’t get it, either that or I am just too fair. I remember going to Star Wars fan days in Plano, Texas two years ago. After driving all night to get to the city from work, I got there and was pretty excited. Was able to meet, AND ACTUALLY HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH, Jeremy Bulloch, Dave Prowse, Nalini Krishan, Matt Wood, and Ray Park. Was even able to say hi to all the Clone Wars voice cast again. Ray even signed my saber. But anyway, it was a great time. Really great time talking to them and getting to know them. No rush, no pushing, just a good time. Yes, these stars have to make their money, but they do anyway. I just don’t think it is fair to us fans that put so much time and effort to these sort of things only to be treated as a “general admission” badge. And that is my worry with Celebration. I know the past ones have been good, but what is happening now? Fan Days in Plano this year may succumb to the same fate as these growing cons, and it is very saddening. Sorry for the long rant guys, just don’t like the sort of thing that these cons are doing. Oh, fair warning to people going to cons like this. If you see Froggy’s Photos anywhere in the list, be prepared to spend money on everything. EVERYTHING. Don’t expect to take a snap shot or anything like that, it wont happen. And they will make sure it doesn’t happen.Last time I went to go see Adam West, man, those guys were annoying. Money money money money. That is all that matters now a days. Anyway. Sorry again for the rant. And hope I didn’t turn yall off to cons. A lot of them are fun, just not the way I wish they were like. San Diego is still awesome though.

oo, oo,  I would love to go, but I don't think  Florida has any gambling casinos for my wife to attend.  Are there any major conventions scheduled for Las Vegas or Reno?  I'm sure I could then convince her of the need for me to attend.

I understand thejedimasternick's stance. My wife and I attended the opening of Star Tours 2/Star Wars Weekends kick off a few weeks back it was pretty jam packed with fans more than recent years. All that because the opening of the new attraction as well as the superstars in attendance - George Lucas was there to dedicate the opening. In previous years my wife and I were able to get all of our memorabilia signed by the stars, however this year Disney made some changes and allowed fans to line up for the next day prior the the park closing so all the passes for autograph lines were taken. That said conventions are still fun and mean different things to everyone.

I think it's great that they happen. Orlando is much closer to me than Plano, although I'd love to attend one some day.

Qui-Tom Helms - Check this out: http://jedimouseketeer.blogspot.com/2011/05/william-shatner-sir-patrick-stewart.html It's coming to Vegas if you're into Trek.

As far as places to gamble in Orlando you'd have to venture way down towards southern Florida toward Ft. Lauderdale to see any decent casinos as far as I know.

At any rate, should anyone in this forum want to go on a Disney vacation, Central FL theme park or Cruise please feel free to hit me up. My wife would love to help members of the Ultra Sabers forum plan and book your vacations. http://jedimouseketeer.blogspot.com/2011/05/disney-travel-deal-alert-late-summer.html

Tampa is closer to orlando than ft laudertale and here in tampa we have the Seminole Hard Rock casino on the Indian reservation.

The rooms there are quite nice as well, I say this out of experience because I worked for the company who designed them and had to carry a lot of the furniture in the rooms up 24 flights of stairs haha.
