comparing the Blues

Hi guys!

Does anyone own both Guardian Blue and Arctic Blue? If so, could you post some pics or video comparisons of the two together please? I've seen both separately, and my dad now has Artic blue; but I've never seen them side by side!

It's not a great comparison, but the two in the middle here are Guardian Blue and Arctic Blue (GB on the left, AB on the right).



The Guardian Blue Aeon is a bit low on batteries too, so keep that in mind.  Also, that particular Arctic Blue Graflex has FoC, so you're talking a different shade of blue than the regular RGB LED version.

Thanks. It seems the GB puts out a darker light, if that makes sense? What blades were in and what's the one far right?

Yes, Guardian Blue is certainly a deeper shade.  Both of those are midgrade blades actually, but the one on the far right is a custom color I made playing with an RGB LED.  It's sort of in between Arctic Blue and SRD, really a true cyan that my fiancee calls "Caribbean Blue."  She is in love with it, and basically called dibs on the saber (even though I was planning to give it to someone else loll)

I love this picture and it makes me think there needs to be a thread that has a progressive wash from each of the RGB combinations, like a saber colour wheel for the progressive combinations.

for me, AB (Arctic Blue) for sure....... My Graflex is in AB, on display in my office, and EVERYONE who sees it, loves it

Nothing wrong with bumping an old thread. My Overlord is in Arctic Blue as well for I wanted a more classic blue for that saber so yeah definitely Arctic Blue for Luke's blue color =] And in regular Heavy Grade blade for sure, or Mid if you don't plan on doing any dueling. Looks great in either blades though

AB for sure for the classic starwars look. GB for prequels/ clone wars- and if you want clone wars look, go a pointed blade tip as well

I used to think that AB was the more classic movie blue blade color. But over the weekend I bladed up my sabers for a photo shoot, and put my GB Belli AB Dox V3 and my Emerald Mantis running an AB w/ pulse.

Both the Dom and Belli had UE blades in. I've been known to have a high sensitivity to color changes, but I only saw maybe a marginal difference between the AB and GB. However, the Emerald AB had a more noticeable difference. However, the Mantis had a std mid-grade in.

There were also some spec differences between these sabers as well. Does anyone know if there is a color difference that is created between the 4-AAA setup and the Li-Ion setup?

I've also noticed that there is just a difference between the hard-wired MLS mixed colors and Emerald created colors. I first fell in love with Emerald SY, but was less than thrilled when I got the SY MLS with my Manticore. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't as good as I remembered it.
