I know the obsidian uses 2 14500 3.7 v 900mah battery li-ion

I've seen a 2000mah 3.7v 14500 on ebay ( item 110754701952)

Will these possibly work for  longer run time. (1hour didn't cut it for an event I was at today) or could these be  "counterfeit" batteries

Thanks

I don't know for sure, but if I remember correctly, the general consensus was that it's probably counterfeit.

Agreed. It's usually the 18650s that support that type of mAh. There are legit Li-ONs on Ebay though. Try to aim for the 900mAh. You might find that they seem as expensive as some better-rated ones, but that's because the 900mAh are legit.

To avoid the problem you faced, I have always ordered an extra set of batteries with my sabers, and have always had a replacement ready to go, you know, if you ever get another saber in the future.  Grin

most builders I see that use 14500 instead of 14650 usually have mah rating of 1400mah.   The 18650 can go much higher
