Blade/Saber lengths

Hi, first post, great forum.

Can anyone please post th overall length's of a Phantom initiate staff/single?
I'm not sure how much of the blade is inside the handle. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the initiate staff is 65 and a half inches, would not have a clue of how much blade is inside thehilt, a single is 32.5 inches I'm pre sure

Thanks.  I think I've read 2"-4" as far as insert length.  Trying to gauge which handle/blade combo will best match my practice swords at home.  My wife is wanting one as well!!! so if I can find a perfect fit for her (single hand & staff use) then the possibility of us ordering "full sabers" in the future is very good...

As Far As Staff's Go:

I know if you get a staff with two standard (for any other saber) length blades of 36 inches, you'll end up with a staff that is over 7 feet tall  ...................  Unless your a giant of a man/or woman, this might not be a good idea  .  Taking the blades down to 32 inches a piece will take the length of the entire saber (plus blades) down to a little over 6 feet, which is better for most.  Me personally (and I'm 6 feet 2 inches tall), I ordered a phantom initiate, with 32 inch blades, which gave me a staff length of a little over 5 feet, which suits me just fine  .

Yeah, couple of shorties... I'm 5'7" (wife is 5'2")... She can use my longstaff (5'6"-ish) but it's at her limit.  We also use practice swords about (I think) the length of an initiate(aeon).  We'll eventually get full size (sound etc) but right now i'm just thrilled my wife is on board!!!

I need some help - I read in another thread that it was possible to shorten a blade, and I was wondering how to go about doing it.  I ordered a Count Dooku FX and I want to make a cane out of it.

OK, just got home.  Measured our staffs/swords, Here's what I'm trying to approximate in a saber/staff:
Staff: 59"-64"
Sword: 34"-36" total length (26.5"-28.5" blade)

I showed the site to my wife and she wants a saber but I'm afraid a normal size might be too big at this point for her, if I can get her a 'manageable' sized saber I think she'd really dig it, bonus if we can actually use 2 as a staff.  I'm kinda leery now about the blade length for initiate being long enough for single weapons... anyone with an initiate hilt/blade combo please let me know the length.

Honestly when I was trying to figure ouch which size I would like, I just pulled out measuring tape and made it the length and held it out. To be honest "average size" shouldn't be any problem if it's for a SINGLE weapon. but for a double weapon I don't think it would be a big deal I mean do you expect to be holding it straight up and down all the time? You usually hold it ya know. horizontal. Not vertical but that's just my thought. For a double blade, initiate size would be interesting but I think normal sized blades would be good enough that way you don't gimp yourself when you separate them

Well, I've got an email in to Ultra to see if I can get 32" UEHG blades for the initaite staff, if so, that's what I'm going to order...

Oh man, that Summer Sale has messed my geeky little mind up!  Now I'm trying to figure out a way to get the staff for 'us' and a Shock (w/Obsidian) for moi!

BTW, lookin thru the DIY parts, does the thought of SHOCK LE emitter, Dark SHOCK body, SHOCK pommel sound good? (poor mans OWK) Anyone seen mix/matched Shocks before???

Thanks for the advice...
the whole allure of the staff is that we both work on long staff  in our KF class and we would be using the 'staff' as a fun practice weapon so it would have to be manageable enough to be able to spin in all/every direction so it would have to be a little shorter than average (I guess, since we're both short).

No problem. I was curious myself about the blades. I definitely want an initiate blade eventually for an off-hand saber or just a sort of... stealth saber (if that makes sense) For a staff...hm I'm still not sure. Maybe you would need initiates and buy extra blades... or something.

Well, we'll see.  I ordered Sunday!
Phantom Initiate v2 staff/32" UEHG blades/blue/green/raw(silver) finish.
Here's how we decided on what combo to get (remember: 5'7" & 5'2")
Initiate hilts + initiate blades= perfect for staff practice
Initiate hilts + 32" blades= perfect for sword (dao/jian) practice
Regular hilts + 32"/36" blades= perfect for geeking out in the back yard!

The main use would be to practice sparring so Initiate hilt/32" it is!  Bonus: we can probably still use the staff as intended just have to be careful... 
I will post a review so other vertically impaired wielders can get a visual.

Sorry for rambling people, I am so psyched it's ridiculous.
I'm just shy of 39.  Almost 20 years ago, I hunted down a Graphlex 2-cell(had to modify, my kingdom for a 3-cell!!!) in a camera shop junk box and built my own (close) ANH Luke saber.  Thru my life I've had the inflatable SW yellow saber, the ESB 'whiffle' sabers and as an 'adult' goofed around with the light up/sound collapsable sabers, I can't wait to spar with a glowing, combat blades!

I hear you man. I've been love struck by star wars since I was a wee tyke. I can't wait for my lightsaber either. And great! I'll be sure to check it out. Being in the same situation and all.
